The back specifically for the tenant living on site - and for the owner to entertain her friend without disturbing her roommate - Interesting element to include a custom deck, circle poured concrete, and drought tolerant planting.

The #SunkenGarden #Design was and is one of our signature gardens. #ContemporaryDesign, this garden added 15% value to the homeowner. We hope to continue to create value for our clients. In this design, we created 4 different spaces, patio by the house for cooking/BBQs, the sunken garden for games with the kids and sitting area under an arbor so parents can watch them. and another observation/entertainment space above the sunken garden. We also included a #waterfeature to create additional ambiance in the garden. It was a success.

This is our most desired #gardendesign to date. It has the most likes on Houzz, many potential clients refer to this #garden when they ask about our services. We completed this garden in 2009 for $175K located in Hancock Park - the back was huge, so we created 3 different spaces. Dining, TV room and park - take a mini-date, dinner outside or watch a little TV in the elements - tons of fun doing this garden and we learned quite a bit.

First, let me cut right to the bottom line....Ralph Robinson is an amazing landscape designer and person. My daughter and I had applied for a rebate from The SoCal Water Smart program. We had an extremely problematic front yard. We were excited about the project, but completely overwhelmed as to how to accomplish our goal of creating an inviting and lush California native landscape on a dried out piece of land with roots of a huge Magnolia tree taking over. We met with three other landscape designers before we met Ralph. We knew immediately that he was the one ! ! Ralph was very reasonably priced, understood that we were on a budget and was extremely patient and generous with us throughout the whole process. ( even coming out early Sunday morning to help us out) He is a passionate artist, with a heart of gold and a strong work ethic. Ralph is someone you want on your team. RALPH ROCKS.
