Gaby nodded. “Yes, everything’s good. I mean, I think so,” she answered. “What about with you?”

Gabrielly nodded. “It is, yes,” she agreed. “I like it a lot. It’s a nice break.. from everything going on out there.”

“Really?” she asked. “I.. used to do this a lot. Back home. It’s a lot of fun.” Gaby kind of smiled. “At least, that’s what I remember.”

Gaby swung her legs in the water, smiling. “I can’t.. remember the last time I actually sat by the pool, talking to someone.”

Gaby smiled, excited. “I.. can’t say I’ve ever had dinner at an actual restaurant.”

“Do you wanna go out or order in?”

“If we go out, we can enjoy the weather,” she suggested.

She spun her laptop so the girl could look at them. “Whatever you want. I use Spotify,” she smiled.

“Awesome, what are you in the mood for? Because I’m kinda craving chinese food”

“I don’t really have a preference,” she shrugged. “Chinese sounds great.”

Gaby looked down at her laptop before looking back up at the other. “Do you.. have any requests?”

“Hey I’m sorry to bother you but I’m trying to finish my homework and your being kinda loud”

“Oh, I’m sorry,” she said, turning the music down. “I didn’t think there was anyone else around. I’m so sorry.”

“I... Yes, you’re right,” she nodded. Gaby had detected what she was feeling, categorizing it as somewhere between nervousness and happiness. “Um, yes. I would love that.”
