"2x2..." -> He huffs and leans back in his chair in his lab, staring up at the ceiling with a large bottle of alcohol in his hand. He wasn't... Entirely drunk, but he was tipsy enough that being down there was, y'know, dangerous! "Another year... Fucking-" -> He hiccups, shaking his head. "Another experiment or whatever. Test of my damn-" -> Another hiccup. "Patience." "At least my fiancés are hot..."

-> He's locked away in his lab again, goggles adorning his face and thick gloves dressing his metal hands. Protection is key, y'know? -> He flexes jaw as he tried to focus on his work, eyebrow twitching slightly at the feeling that bubbling up in his chest. Or well, the lack OF feeling in all honesty. "Why..." "Why can't I-" -> He slams one of his hands against his work desk, startling himself a little as a glass piece shatters from the force. "Dammit..."

· They tugged at the hem of the skirt. It was a change to the usual blues and whites he always had.

"Does it look bad?"

"No, not at all." -> He approached and grabbed the other's hand, bringing the other's hand up and kissing his lover's knuckles. "Just didn't expect to see you dressed in such a way. You look... Cute."

· He couldn't help but smile, his thumb rubbing the back of his boyfriend's hand. He didn't want to seem insecure, even if that was exactly how he felt.

"I'm glad you think I look cute. I haven't worn skirts this short in... forever, probably."

· They cupped the other's cheek with their free hand and placed a small kiss on his lips.

"Hm..." -> He pulled the other close, his arm coming to wrap around his lover's waist tightly. He stared, reaching down and lightly tugging at the other's skirt. "This skirt doesn't really go with the rest of your outfit..." -> Oh no. Mr. Fashionista is here now. "I have some of my old scene outfits if you'd like to try on the skirts I once wore. I think I have a more fitting one for you. You're skinny, so you'd fit in them."

"I'd like to see them... I'm surprised you still have them. But I do keep most of my old dresses so I can't really judge you here."

· He tensed for a fraction of a second at the tugging, but calmed down very shortly after. His arms wrapped around his lover's neck as he placed a kiss on the other's cheek,

"You're so picky with outfits. I guess we have that in common."

-> He wraps his arms tightly around his lover's waist, picking the other up and turning sharply on his heels, heading towards the shared bedroom with a hum. "I am picky, yes." "I basically designed and picked out most of my own outfits back during my years of scamming Caden blind. I know a thing or two about fashion." "I have plenty of my old clothing back from those days."

He spread out one of his wings, a few feathers falling.

Well uh. I think I do. I haven’t preened yet today so…

"Wanted one." -> He stepped forward and placed a hand on the other's shoulders, staring down at him. He would just, grab one, but he was waiting for his ruby's permission first. "It's an odd request, yeah, but I kinda wanted to study your feathers at some point. Same with our sapphire's skin." -> This weird ass biologist.

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

How do you plan on… getting a sample of sapphire’s skin…?

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. "Also I would like for you to join me in my lab if you're not too busy. I have something for you. My apologizes that it's... A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Well, that was a bit of a lie. He was getting a bit tired, but he could stay awake if Caleb wanted him to.

His interests were peaked, curious what his lover made for him. His tail gently wagged as he followed his opal, keeping his wings against his back so they wouldn’t hit anything.

-> Caleb entered some little code into the keypad attached to the door, the door opening with a soft hiss. The door, once the pair were inside, closed with that same soft hiss. -> Caleb's lab was... Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

His tail gently hit the couch, waiting for his lover to give him something or maybe sit next to him. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he waited excitedly anyway.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He opened his eyes, smiling as he looked down at the necklace.

He held it in his hands for a moment before hugging onto his lover tightly, smiling as he nuzzled his head against his boyfriend’s. It felt nice his opal remembered his birthday.

Everything about this necklace is beautiful, my love… thank you so much. I’ll definitely be cherishing this forever.

He smiled, moving himself closer to Caleb and hugging his opal tighter. His tail wagged faster as he rested his wings, no longer pressing them against his back.

"It's a bit of a shared present between myself and sapphire... He helped me buy the materials so I could start the process of growing and developing these jewels." -> He flushed darkly and looked away, hugging onto his lover back and holding him close. He's embarrassed over this, but he's happy Nate loved it. "Sapphire has some big plan as well. We're both sorry we couldn't, y'know, give this stuff to you on your birthday. We hope what we've both got planned will..." "Make up for it."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

Don’t worry about it, my love. I don’t care what you two give me, the only thing that matters is that you actually remembered. I don’t care if it technically isn’t my birthday anymore, it’s close enough. It’s not like you gave me something a month later or anything…

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

Knowing sapphire, he’s going to do much more than I deserve… but if he wants to, I won’t stop him.

He paused for a brief second before speaking again.

Is he doing his part tonight or at a later date?

He was trying to determine how long he had to stay awake for while still being conscious enough to appreciate what his sapphire set up for him.

"He's still got some things to setup he said. Told me he wanted the day to be all about you."

-> He turns a little and pulls his ruby onto his lap, pressing a kiss onto the side of his lover's head.

"Knowing his rich boy ass he's going to go all out to make sure your birthday is as special as physically possible."

"That and he's trying to one up me."

-> He joked about that last part, pressing more kisses onto his lover's face.

He giggled at the kisses while melting into his lover’s arms, enjoying any affection he was given.

Well, I’m sure whatever it is, it will be just as good as yours. He’s probably trying to make an extraordinary day for me, I can’t say I mind though.

He smiled as he cuddled up against his boyfriend, tail wagging quickly.

I’m kinda glad he’s not doing it tonight… I get time to sleep.

He giggled, yawning a second later. Nate didn’t want to sleep yet, he still wanted to hang out with Caleb for a little longer.

"Come on, why don't we head to bed if you're tired? I just need to clean up my lab a little before I can join you. Rather not have sapphire come bumbling down here and get hurt." -> He hugs his ruby a little tighter now, trailing his kisses a little lower before moving them back up to his lover's face, a gentle smile decorating his own. "It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

He just hummed in response, smiling slightly at the kisses. He rubbed his eye, trying to feel a little less tired with no avail.

Okay… I guess we could go to bed now…

As much as he didn’t want to, he’d go to sleep. He had a long day so he was more tired than he was normally.

I can wait for you to clean up… I wanna cuddle with you more before I fall asleep…

He knew that if he went up before Caleb did, he’d most likely fall asleep right when he laid down. He wanted to at least cuddle for a couple minutes before he went to sleep.

-> He looked away slightly before getting up, reaching down a little and scooping up his lover into his arms, holding the avian close to his body. "I'll clean up later." -> He pressed a kiss onto the side of his lover's head, adjusting the avian in his arms before making his way towards the lab's door, tapping in the little keycode. "Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

Mmmm… I don’t wanna be waiting on you either…

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

"Sleepy little thing..."

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

-> He walked over to the bed, carefully setting his lover down and making sure he was comfortable before he started taking off all of his bits and bobs and his lab coat, setting them aside somewhere then getting into bed.

"Come here, angel."

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

His wings stretched out, drooping a few feathers before they rested on his back again. He yawned, slowly drifting to sleep as his hold loosened.

-> By the next morning, the biologist was up and about, cleaning up the bedroom and organizing a couple of things. He had purposefully woken himself up earlier to start preparing for the day. He knew it would be ready today. "Are you done making the food?" "Yes, I am. Is he awake yet?" "No, but he might wake up at the scent of breakfast."

Nate slowly opened his eyes, blinking a couple times.

He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

Nate smiled as he woke up a little more.

Thank you guys… this is so sweet…

His smile grew wider, happy that his lovers cared for him so much. His tail wagged, looking at both of his boyfriends.

You guys really didn’t need to do all of this for me…

He let out a soft giggle as he walked over to the couch and patted next to him, encouraging his gemstones to sit down.

He giggled again, his tail wagging as he waited.

-> The two of them came over and sat down, Caleb on the left and Traps on the right. The heir grinned, leaning over and pressing a kiss onto his ruby's cheek.

"I'm sorry this took so long, darling... Usually I'm better with time management... But I'm going to absolutely spoil you today."

"We'll do whatever you want, ruby."

Nate giggled, his tail wagging faster now.

He smiled at the thought of them doing whatever he wanted, though he was probably going to do nothing with that information.

He giggled again, picking up a piece of bacon and takes a bite out of it.

"It's your birthday." "Late birthday." "Shut up, Traps." -> The heir chuckled and leaned over, pressing a kiss onto his lover's cheek with a soft purr in his voice. "But we mean it, darling. We want to spoil you by doing whatever you want, taking your wherever you want. Maybe we can head to the mall at some point... Buy you some pretty dresses too." "Are we still going to that one place?" "Yes, I'm sure our ruby will love it there."

Nate smiled, attempting to think about where they could be going.

He giggled, finishing the piece of bacon he had in his hand.

He let out a guilty chuckle as he continued to eat what was on the tray in front of him.

Eventually, he finished eating, leaving almost nothing on the plate. He leaned back on the couch, pulling his lover’s closer to him. He smiled, spreading out his wings.

-> The biologist reached over and hugged onto his ruby, pulling the avian onto his lap with a chuckle, pressing a couple kisses onto his lover's cheek. "Hogging him like always, aren't you?" -> The heir huffs and cuddles up close, sitting on his knees and hugging onto the avian as well. "We're both allowed to love on him as much as we want, sapphire. I think you're just upset that I grabbed him first." "You're insufferable." "We're both insufferable. And Nate loves us dearly."

He smiled, giving Caleb and Traps kisses on the cheeks. He cuddled up against his opal, pulling his sapphire closer to the two.

Honestly, just hanging out with you two all day would have been a perfect gift for me. But I know neither of you would settle for something as simple as that.

He joked, his tail wagging faster. He closed his eyes, relaxing against his opal. Nate was silently thinking about what they had planned next, but he wouldn’t mind if they laid here for a little. He liked a slow start to his day.

"I would've settled for that if that's what you wanted, ruby." "I wouldn't." -> The heir huffs and nuzzles his face into Nate's neck, pressing a couple kisses onto the heated skin. "I want to spoil you rotten, ruby. Get you anything and everything you want for your special day." "Can't really start this until Nate's dressed. But it seems like he wants to rest here for a little longer before we're up and on our feet for hours."

He giggled softly, tilting his head up to give his sapphire more room.

He smiled, his tail wagging. He was trying to get a good amount of contact with both of them, so he wrapped his arms around Traps and pulled him closer. He snuggled up against Caleb, leaning against him.

"If our sapphire wasn't so insistent on going out and about then I think we could just sit here and love on you for hours and hours. I bet you'd be nothing more than a cute little puddle for us, wouldn't you?" -> The heir pressed closer and peppered his lover's neck in little kisses, hugging on a little tighter now. "We should be wanting to spoil our ruby, Caleb." "And we're going to, so stop acting like we aren't." -> The biologist cupped the avian's face, pulling Nate into a loving little kiss.

Nate was about to start talking before he got cut off by the kiss, though he was far from mad about it. He happily reciprocated the kiss, his tail wagging faster as he deepened it.

He kept his arms around Traps, one of his hands coming up and tangling in his hair. He wanted to give his sapphire some attention while still kissing his opal.

He already felt like he was melting at the affection he was given, but he’d try to keep his composure so he and his lovers could go out later.

"Are you ready to start preparing to leave, ruby? I think we want to go shopping we should do that first... I'd love to spoil you as much as you'd like." -> The biologist sighed with an eyeroll, pressing a kiss onto one of Nate's temples. "We'll leave once he's ready, sapphire. I'm sure we'll have all the time in the world to spoil our precious ruby." -> The heir nods and hugs onto both of his lovers. Or well, he tried, his arms weren't exactly the longest.

His tail wagged as he smirked, turning his attention towards his sapphire.

But first, since me and our Opal already kissed, I need a kiss from you too, sapphire.

He smiled as he cupped his lover’s chin, pulling him close and kissing him. It was a gentle kiss, but it still had passion to it.

-> The heir happily kissed his lover back, hooking his arms around the avian's shoulders and pulling him close. Traps was more than willing to kiss his ruby as much as he wanted. -> The biologist chuckles and rolls his eyes, pulling out his phone as it started to buzz. He hummed, glancing over at the other two before putting his phone away. "Our ruby needs to get himself all prettied up for us... We'll have to keep others away from him."

Nate pulled away from the kiss, giggling at what Caleb had said.

He joked, smiling up at his opal. He hugged his sapphire tightly before loosening his hold. He gave both his lovers a kiss before getting out of their cuddle pile.

Well, I’ll go get ready now. Any outfit suggestions before I change?

"Anything, really." "I would jokingly say "nothing", but we're going outside." -> The biologist reached over and slapped the back of the heir's head, pulling out his phone and showing the other something. "Ignore him. Just wear something you'd like, okay? I think the only fancypants one here is our little sapphire." -> The heir got up, rubbing the back of his head and hurrying out of the apartment for something.

He waited for a minute before softly giggling at what his sapphire said. He stopped and went over to his opal, giving him a peck on the cheek before going to his room.

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

-> The biologist whistles gently at seeing his lover, getting up and going over to the avian. He chuckles, eyes shifting into a soft pink color as his pupils slit into heart shapes. "Hello there, gorgeous." -> He hugs his lover from behind and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, pulling him close against his body. "Sapphire's got a fancy little limo waiting for us outside. Let's not keep him waiting, yeah?"

He joked, smiling as he began to walk. He held his opal’s hand, pulling him with them. His tail gently swayed behind him, occasionally glancing over at Caleb and smiling.

As they walked outside, Nate picked up the pace a bit. He walked faster now, hopping into the back seat with his lovers.

Hi, sapphire.

He smiled, giving Traps a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello, ruby." -> He chuckles and kisses his lover back, scooting over slightly to make room in the back. Caleb slipped himself inside, closing the door afterwards. "Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

He giggled, leaning into Caleb’s touch. His tail wagged against the limo seat, making a light thumping sound. His wings were pressed against his back, which did make Nate slightly uncomfortable. He didn’t like being in cars for long amounts of time because his wings always got sore from not moving.

Is there any place we should go first? I don’t really go to the mall all that often…

"I say we go window shopping, you know? Walk around and see what catches your eye, ruby." "I feel like we're going to come back home with several new outfits for him thanks to our sapphire." "Shut up, will you?" -> Caleb chuckles softly and kisses the side of Nate's head, giving his lover an affectionate little squeeze. "He's cute when he's all pouty, isn't he, ruby?"

He grinned, looking over at his sapphire.

He smiled as he turned to Caleb, whispering something to him. He wasn’t trying to be secretive about it, he just wanted to talk to his opal directly.

Don’t get caught up on it for too long. It’s normal. He usually takes them when you aren’t looking, he’s good at hiding it too.

He giggled, he couldn’t tell if he was trying to make Caleb think about it longer or not.

"I dislike both of you sometimes..." "You love us, sapphire." -> The limo pulled up to the mall, ignoring basically everyone else around it and taking up one of the bigger parking spots. The driver got out of the front and hurried to the back, opening the doors. "Come on, ruby." -> The biologist got up, grabbing his lover's hand and getting out of the car with him, the heir following right behind them.

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

He smiled as he began to walk into the mall with his boyfriends.

-> The biologist snickered as the trio got inside of the mall. Busy, full of people going about their day and shopping for whatever little items and knickknacks they needed.

"Will we have enough space in the limo? Just in case we come out with a ridiculous amount of stuff?"

It’s already too big for just us three so I’m sure it’ll fit a pile of clothes, and whatever else we stumble upon.

He smiled, looking around at near by shops they walked by. Nothing really caught his eye yet, except when he did look around, he saw some people stare. Which didn’t bother him much, he always gets stares wherever he goes so he’s used to it by now.

-> Caleb's head immediately snapped towards the people who were staring, his pupils slitting sharp and causing them to look away.

"Maybe we could find you some new dresses? I feel like we could be in that store for hours... I'd be more than happy to buy you as many as you desire."

Let's get going then." -> He hugged his arm around the avian's waist, keeping his lover close to his side as they made their way towards one of the many clothing stores within the mall.

Nate wasn’t the type to do something as extreme as what he said, but he was possessive over his lovers. He never resorted to violence unless necessary.

He adjusts his glasses, feeling his face heat up at the thought of his ruby in any of them. "Let's see what we can find here, ruby. There's plenty of nice dresses here... But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

He looked over at his lover, noticing his face’s change in color. He smirked, pushing himself against his lover even more.

He smiles as he walked over to a rack of dresses, looking through them to see if any caught his eye.

"This is all about you, Nate." -> He commented and followed his lover, keeping his arms crossed behind his back as the other looked through the various dresses. He glanced around a little before looking back. "Pick whatever you'd like, dear. Whatever you'd like, whatever you'd be the most comfortable in. You'll look good in any of these if you ask me." -> He chuckles a little.

He giggled, his tail gently swaying.

I know this is all about me, but I like seeing you happy! Seeing you happy makes me happy! And if you’d like to see me in a specific dress, I’d be more than happy to!

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

I’ll take three different dresses to try on, then we can meet with sapphire and see how they are!

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

"Alright." -> He took notice of the dress his lover was staring at, moving closer and looking over the avian's shoulder with a raised eyebrow. He pointed down at it. "That one caught your eye, darling? Real pretty dress too... The lace pattern looks quite nice against that red." -> Of course someone like Caleb would comment on the smaller details of clothing...

He forgot to account for sizing. He struggled with sizing a lot, so he hoped there wouldn’t be any issues this time. He still took the dress, he’d just have to talk to someone about it.

He brushed it off for now as he took his boyfriend’s hand and took him further into the store. Nate began looking at a different rack now.

-> The biologist followed without a word, absentmindedly glancing at the several different racks of dresses as the two walked by them. He'd honestly think his ruby would look nice in a lot of them, but he kept his thoughts to himself. -> He interlocked fingers with his lover, making sure to keep up pace so that he wasn't too far from the other. Caleb's protective, borderline territorial behaviors were... Kind of noticeable, sometimes. "I think sapphire's going to be in paradise knowing he's going to spoil your rotten, ruby."

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

It is quite pretty… it’s like a mix between our colors…

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

And also, about the thing you said about sapphire, that’s kinda the point. As in, I was gonna get a dress in our colors: one red, one blue, and one like a white and yellow I guess. But the dress you just got has those yellows…

"You're terrible." -> He couldn't stop himself from chuckling as he followed his lover, feeling a small bubble of pride at being able to pick out something for his lover. Caleb's always been one for fashion ever since his Choka years. "Let's get going to the dressing rooms then. I wouldn't be shocked if our sapphire's been waiting for us. I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."

They eventually make their way to the dressing rooms, Nate looked around to see if their sapphire was anywhere.

-> And there he was, the heir was waiting by one of the dressing room stalls, eyes glued to his phone screen with a particularly sour expression.

-> He glanced up briefly, a smile spreading across his face as he saw his lovers approach. He put his phone away, waving the others towards him.

After a short while, Nate came back out wearing that first dress he picked out. He smiled, smoothing out the dress a little.

I know you already wear a lot of red but that shade is particularly pretty with your wings." -> The heir walks up to his lover and grins, placing his hands on the avian's hips and gently squeezing them. "Don't mess up that dress, sapphire. We haven't bought it yet." -> Caleb goes over and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, chuckling softly at how handsy the heir immediately got.

Nate giggled as he was squeezed, smiling as he put his arms around his lover’s neck. They gave him a quick peck on the lips, turning his head and giving his opal one as well.

He smiled, giving his sapphire a quick kiss before he pulled back.

He giggled, gently pushing the two to where they were standing before. He waved as he closed the door, giggling while doing so.

He came back out a little later, wearing the dress his opal picked out. He did the same little twirl as he did before.

"A chest window? That's new for you, ruby." -> He hums and admires his lover. He's not too fond of the chest window personally, not liking the idea of someone staring at his beloved in such a manner. "I had said something about being unsure of the chest window myself. But if Nate likes it then he likes it. Whatever makes him feel pretty." "Yes, we can't judge. I do like the clothes. Sunset, much like your wings, ruby."

Mhm, it is quite similar to my wings. And about the chest window, I don’t know if I’d necessarily gravitate towards dresses with them, but if I like the dress enough, I’ll just ignore the chest window.

He smiled, his tail gently swishing behind him.

He grinned, closing the door. Nate couldn’t say that he wasn’t excited to see his sapphire’s reaction.

A little bit later, Nate finished getting ready. He started speaking before he opened the door.

He waited a little before opening the door. He was wearing the blue dress, smiling while looking at his sapphire to gauge his reaction.

-> The heir took one look at his lover and felt his face explode in color. He opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, but nothing came out besides a flustered little noise. Aren't you, sapphire?" -> The heir tried to say something again, his face only getting bluer and bluer by the second. He wanted to pounce on his lover right now. "I think he likes it more than he should, hehe."

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. "Also I would like for you to join me in my lab if you're not too busy. I have something for you. My apologizes that it's... A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Well, that was a bit of a lie. He was getting a bit tired, but he could stay awake if Caleb wanted him to.

His interests were peaked, curious what his lover made for him. His tail gently wagged as he followed his opal, keeping his wings against his back so they wouldn’t hit anything.

-> Caleb entered some little code into the keypad attached to the door, the door opening with a soft hiss. The door, once the pair were inside, closed with that same soft hiss. -> Caleb's lab was... Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

His tail gently hit the couch, waiting for his lover to give him something or maybe sit next to him. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he waited excitedly anyway.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He's embarrassed over this, but he's happy Nate loved it. "Sapphire has some big plan as well. We're both sorry we couldn't, y'know, give this stuff to you on your birthday. We hope what we've both got planned will..." "Make up for it."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

He paused for a brief second before speaking again.

"It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

"Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

Nate smiled as he woke up a little more.

His smile grew wider, happy that his lovers cared for him so much. His tail wagged, looking at both of his boyfriends.

He let out a soft giggle as he walked over to the couch and patted next to him, encouraging his gemstones to sit down.

"Are we still going to that one place?" "Yes, I'm sure our ruby will love it there."

Nate smiled, attempting to think about where they could be going.

Eventually, he finished eating, leaving almost nothing on the plate. He leaned back on the couch, pulling his lover’s closer to him. He smiled, spreading out his wings.

-> The biologist reached over and hugged onto his ruby, pulling the avian onto his lap with a chuckle, pressing a couple kisses onto his lover's cheek. "Hogging him like always, aren't you?" -> The heir huffs and cuddles up close, sitting on his knees and hugging onto the avian as well. "We're both allowed to love on him as much as we want, sapphire. I think you're just upset that I grabbed him first." "You're insufferable." "We're both insufferable. And Nate loves us dearly."

He smiled, giving Caleb and Traps kisses on the cheeks. He cuddled up against his opal, pulling his sapphire closer to the two.

Honestly, just hanging out with you two all day would have been a perfect gift for me. But I know neither of you would settle for something as simple as that.

He joked, his tail wagging faster. He closed his eyes, relaxing against his opal. Nate was silently thinking about what they had planned next, but he wouldn’t mind if they laid here for a little. He liked a slow start to his day.

But it seems like he wants to rest here for a little longer before we're up and on our feet for hours."

He smiled, his tail wagging. He was trying to get a good amount of contact with both of them, so he wrapped his arms around Traps and pulled him closer. He snuggled up against Caleb, leaning against him.

"We should be wanting to spoil our ruby, Caleb." "And we're going to, so stop acting like we aren't." -> The biologist cupped the avian's face, pulling Nate into a loving little kiss.

Nate was about to start talking before he got cut off by the kiss, though he was far from mad about it. He happily reciprocated the kiss, his tail wagging faster as he deepened it.

He kept his arms around Traps, one of his hands coming up and tangling in his hair. He wanted to give his sapphire some attention while still kissing his opal.

He already felt like he was melting at the affection he was given, but he’d try to keep his composure so he and his lovers could go out later.

"Are you ready to start preparing to leave, ruby? I think we want to go shopping we should do that first... I'm sure we'll have all the time in the world to spoil our precious ruby." -> The heir nods and hugs onto both of his lovers. Or well, he tried, his arms weren't exactly the longest.

Traps was more than willing to kiss his ruby as much as he wanted. -> The biologist chuckles and rolls his eyes, pulling out his phone as it started to buzz. He hummed, glancing over at the other two before putting his phone away. "Our ruby needs to get himself all prettied up for us... We'll have to keep others away from him."

"I would jokingly say "nothing", but we're going outside." -> The biologist reached over and slapped the back of the heir's head, pulling out his phone and showing the other something. "Ignore him. He waited for a minute before softly giggling at what his sapphire said. He stopped and went over to his opal, giving him a peck on the cheek before going to his room.

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

-> The biologist whistles gently at seeing his lover, getting up and going over to the avian. He chuckles, eyes shifting into a soft pink color as his pupils slit into heart shapes. "Hello there, gorgeous." -> He hugs his lover from behind and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, pulling him close against his body. "Sapphire's got a fancy little limo waiting for us outside. Let's not keep him waiting, yeah?"

"Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

The driver got out of the front and hurried to the back, opening the doors. "Come on, ruby." -> The biologist got up, grabbing his lover's hand and getting out of the car with him, the heir following right behind them.

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

He smiled as he began to walk into the mall with his boyfriends.

He smiled, looking around at near by shops they walked by. Nothing really caught his eye yet, except when he did look around, he saw some people stare. Which didn’t bother him much, he always gets stares wherever he goes so he’s used to it by now.

But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

He smiles as he walked over to a rack of dresses, looking through them to see if any caught his eye.

He glanced around a little before looking back. "Pick whatever you'd like, dear. Whatever you'd like, whatever you'd be the most comfortable in. You'll look good in any of these if you ask me." -> He chuckles a little.

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

I’ll take three different dresses to try on, then we can meet with sapphire and see how they are!

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

"Alright." -> He took notice of the dress his lover was staring at, moving closer and looking over the avian's shoulder with a raised eyebrow. He pointed down at it. "That one caught your eye, darling? Real pretty dress too... The lace pattern looks quite nice against that red." -> Of course someone like Caleb would comment on the smaller details of clothing...

Nate paused before letting out a dry chuckle.

He forgot to account for sizing. He struggled with sizing a lot, so he hoped there wouldn’t be any issues this time. He still took the dress, he’d just have to talk to someone about it.

He brushed it off for now as he took his boyfriend’s hand and took him further into the store. Nate began looking at a different rack now.

-> The biologist followed without a word, absentmindedly glancing at the several different racks of dresses as the two walked by them. He'd honestly think his ruby would look nice in a lot of them, but he kept his thoughts to himself. -> He interlocked fingers with his lover, making sure to keep up pace so that he wasn't too far from the other. Caleb's protective, borderline territorial behaviors were... Kind of noticeable, sometimes. "I think sapphire's going to be in paradise knowing he's going to spoil your rotten, ruby."

Oh for sure. He’s going to be in paradise just by looking at me in these dresses.

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

It is quite pretty… it’s like a mix between our colors…

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

And also, about the thing you said about sapphire, that’s kinda the point. As in, I was gonna get a dress in our colors: one red, one blue, and one like a white and yellow I guess. But the dress you just got has those yellows…

Caleb's always been one for fashion ever since his Choka years. "Let's get going to the dressing rooms then. I wouldn't be shocked if our sapphire's been waiting for us. I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."

-> He glanced up briefly, a smile spreading across his face as he saw his lovers approach. He put his phone away, waving the others towards him.

After a short while, Nate came back out wearing that first dress he picked out. He smiled, smoothing out the dress a little.

"Don't mess up that dress, sapphire. We haven't bought it yet." -> Caleb goes over and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, chuckling softly at how handsy the heir immediately got.

Nate giggled as he was squeezed, smiling as he put his arms around his lover’s neck. They gave him a quick peck on the lips, turning his head and giving his opal one as well.

He came back out a little later, wearing the dress his opal picked out. He did the same little twirl as he did before.

Sunset, much like your wings, ruby."

A little bit later, Nate finished getting ready. He started speaking before he opened the door.

The biologist snorted. "Told you he'd be stunned into silence. He's absolutely THRILLED over that dress. Aren't you, sapphire?" -> The heir tried to say something again, his face only getting bluer and bluer by the second. He wanted to pounce on his lover right now. "I think he likes it more than he should, hehe."

"Wanted one." -> He stepped forward and placed a hand on the other's shoulders, staring down at him. He would just, grab one, but he was waiting for his ruby's permission first. "It's an odd request, yeah, but I kinda wanted to study your feathers at some point. Same with our sapphire's skin." -> This weird ass biologist.

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. "Also I would like for you to join me in my lab if you're not too busy. I have something for you. My apologizes that it's... A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Well, that was a bit of a lie. He was getting a bit tired, but he could stay awake if Caleb wanted him to.

His interests were peaked, curious what his lover made for him. His tail gently wagged as he followed his opal, keeping his wings against his back so they wouldn’t hit anything.

-> Caleb entered some little code into the keypad attached to the door, the door opening with a soft hiss. The door, once the pair were inside, closed with that same soft hiss. -> Caleb's lab was... Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

His tail gently hit the couch, waiting for his lover to give him something or maybe sit next to him. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he waited excitedly anyway.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He's embarrassed over this, but he's happy Nate loved it. "Sapphire has some big plan as well. We're both sorry we couldn't, y'know, give this stuff to you on your birthday. We hope what we've both got planned will..." "Make up for it."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

He paused for a brief second before speaking again.

"It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

He just hummed in response, smiling slightly at the kisses. He rubbed his eye, trying to feel a little less tired with no avail.

As much as he didn’t want to, he’d go to sleep. He had a long day so he was more tired than he was normally.

He knew that if he went up before Caleb did, he’d most likely fall asleep right when he laid down. He wanted to at least cuddle for a couple minutes before he went to sleep.

"I'll clean up later." -> He pressed a kiss onto the side of his lover's head, adjusting the avian in his arms before making his way towards the lab's door, tapping in the little keycode. "Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

-> He walked over to the bed, carefully setting his lover down and making sure he was comfortable before he started taking off all of his bits and bobs and his lab coat, setting them aside somewhere then getting into bed.

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

Nate slowly opened his eyes, blinking a couple times.

He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

Eventually, he finished eating, leaving almost nothing on the plate. He leaned back on the couch, pulling his lover’s closer to him. He smiled, spreading out his wings.

"We're both allowed to love on him as much as we want, sapphire. I think you're just upset that I grabbed him first." "You're insufferable." "We're both insufferable. And Nate loves us dearly."

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

"Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

Not as dangerously possessive as someone like Traps, but close enough. "I guess I'm not too keen on the idea of someone else having eyes for you or our sapphire. I'd be more than happy to beat someone black and blue if they tried anything."

Nate wasn’t the type to do something as extreme as what he said, but he was possessive over his lovers. He never resorted to violence unless necessary.

He giggled, hugging onto his boyfriend.

"No one is good enough to replace me." -> He huffs and tilts his head back slightly as the pair enter the area where all of the dresses are kept. He adjusts his glasses, feeling his face heat up at the thought of his ruby in any of them. "Let's see what we can find here, ruby. There's plenty of nice dresses here... But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

Mhm I do. I’ve never been one to wear stuff that’s too revealing… never really suits me, at least that’s what I think.

He looked over at his lover, noticing his face’s change in color. He smirked, pushing himself against his lover even more.

Is there any dresses in here you’d like to see me in? We don’t have to buy them but I’d wear something if you wanted to see it.

He smiles as he walked over to a rack of dresses, looking through them to see if any caught his eye.

"This is all about you, Nate." -> He commented and followed his lover, keeping his arms crossed behind his back as the other looked through the various dresses. He glanced around a little before looking back. "Pick whatever you'd like, dear. Whatever you'd like, whatever you'd be the most comfortable in. You'll look good in any of these if you ask me." -> He chuckles a little.

He giggled, his tail gently swaying.

I know this is all about me, but I like seeing you happy! Seeing you happy makes me happy! And if you’d like to see me in a specific dress, I’d be more than happy to!

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

I’ll take three different dresses to try on, then we can meet with sapphire and see how they are!

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

"Alright." -> He took notice of the dress his lover was staring at, moving closer and looking over the avian's shoulder with a raised eyebrow. He pointed down at it. "That one caught your eye, darling? Real pretty dress too... The lace pattern looks quite nice against that red." -> Of course someone like Caleb would comment on the smaller details of clothing...

Nate paused before letting out a dry chuckle.

He forgot to account for sizing. He struggled with sizing a lot, so he hoped there wouldn’t be any issues this time. He still took the dress, he’d just have to talk to someone about it.

He brushed it off for now as he took his boyfriend’s hand and took him further into the store. Nate began looking at a different rack now.

-> The biologist followed without a word, absentmindedly glancing at the several different racks of dresses as the two walked by them. He'd honestly think his ruby would look nice in a lot of them, but he kept his thoughts to himself. -> He interlocked fingers with his lover, making sure to keep up pace so that he wasn't too far from the other. Caleb's protective, borderline territorial behaviors were... Kind of noticeable, sometimes. "I think sapphire's going to be in paradise knowing he's going to spoil your rotten, ruby."

Oh for sure. He’s going to be in paradise just by looking at me in these dresses.

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

It is quite pretty… it’s like a mix between our colors…

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

He giggled, giving his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.

And also, about the thing you said about sapphire, that’s kinda the point. As in, I was gonna get a dress in our colors: one red, one blue, and one like a white and yellow I guess. But the dress you just got has those yellows…

"You're terrible." -> He couldn't stop himself from chuckling as he followed his lover, feeling a small bubble of pride at being able to pick out something for his lover. Caleb's always been one for fashion ever since his Choka years. "Let's get going to the dressing rooms then. I wouldn't be shocked if our sapphire's been waiting for us. I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."

He begins to walk towards where the dressing rooms are, smiling as his tail wagged behind him.

They eventually make their way to the dressing rooms, Nate looked around to see if their sapphire was anywhere.

-> And there he was, the heir was waiting by one of the dressing room stalls, eyes glued to his phone screen with a particularly sour expression.

-> He glanced up briefly, a smile spreading across his face as he saw his lovers approach. He put his phone away, waving the others towards him.

After a short while, Nate came back out wearing that first dress he picked out. He smiled, smoothing out the dress a little.

He did a little twirl for fun, smiling as he faced his lovers again.

I know you already wear a lot of red but that shade is particularly pretty with your wings." -> The heir walks up to his lover and grins, placing his hands on the avian's hips and gently squeezing them. "Don't mess up that dress, sapphire. We haven't bought it yet." -> Caleb goes over and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, chuckling softly at how handsy the heir immediately got.

Nate giggled as he was squeezed, smiling as he put his arms around his lover’s neck. They gave him a quick peck on the lips, turning his head and giving his opal one as well.

You can love on me all you want later, sapphire. Let me try on the other two and buy them, and then you can shower me with your affection.

He smiled, giving his sapphire a quick kiss before he pulled back.

Alright now, back away you two so I can change.

He giggled, gently pushing the two to where they were standing before. He waved as he closed the door, giggling while doing so.

He came back out a little later, wearing the dress his opal picked out. He did the same little twirl as he did before.

"A chest window? That's new for you, ruby." -> He hums and admires his lover. He's not too fond of the chest window personally, not liking the idea of someone staring at his beloved in such a manner. "I had said something about being unsure of the chest window myself. But if Nate likes it then he likes it. Whatever makes him feel pretty." "Yes, we can't judge. I do like the clothes. Sunset, much like your wings, ruby."

"Wanted one." -> He stepped forward and placed a hand on the other's shoulders, staring down at him. He would just, grab one, but he was waiting for his ruby's permission first. "It's an odd request, yeah, but I kinda wanted to study your feathers at some point. Same with our sapphire's skin." -> This weird ass biologist.

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. "Also I would like for you to join me in my lab if you're not too busy. I have something for you. My apologizes that it's... A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Well, that was a bit of a lie. He was getting a bit tired, but he could stay awake if Caleb wanted him to.

His interests were peaked, curious what his lover made for him. His tail gently wagged as he followed his opal, keeping his wings against his back so they wouldn’t hit anything.

-> Caleb entered some little code into the keypad attached to the door, the door opening with a soft hiss. The door, once the pair were inside, closed with that same soft hiss. -> Caleb's lab was... Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

His tail gently hit the couch, waiting for his lover to give him something or maybe sit next to him. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he waited excitedly anyway.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He smiled, moving himself closer to Caleb and hugging his opal tighter. His tail wagged faster as he rested his wings, no longer pressing them against his back.

He helped me buy the materials so I could start the process of growing and developing these jewels." -> He flushed darkly and looked away, hugging onto his lover back and holding him close. He's embarrassed over this, but he's happy Nate loved it. "Sapphire has some big plan as well. We're both sorry we couldn't, y'know, give this stuff to you on your birthday. We hope what we've both got planned will..." "Make up for it."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

Don’t worry about it, my love. I don’t care what you two give me, the only thing that matters is that you actually remembered. I don’t care if it technically isn’t my birthday anymore, it’s close enough. It’s not like you gave me something a month later or anything…

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

Knowing sapphire, he’s going to do much more than I deserve… but if he wants to, I won’t stop him.

He paused for a brief second before speaking again.

He was trying to determine how long he had to stay awake for while still being conscious enough to appreciate what his sapphire set up for him.

"It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

He just hummed in response, smiling slightly at the kisses. He rubbed his eye, trying to feel a little less tired with no avail.

As much as he didn’t want to, he’d go to sleep. He had a long day so he was more tired than he was normally.

He knew that if he went up before Caleb did, he’d most likely fall asleep right when he laid down. He wanted to at least cuddle for a couple minutes before he went to sleep.

-> He looked away slightly before getting up, reaching down a little and scooping up his lover into his arms, holding the avian close to his body. "I'll clean up later." -> He pressed a kiss onto the side of his lover's head, adjusting the avian in his arms before making his way towards the lab's door, tapping in the little keycode. "Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

-> He walked over to the bed, carefully setting his lover down and making sure he was comfortable before he started taking off all of his bits and bobs and his lab coat, setting them aside somewhere then getting into bed.

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

-> By the next morning, the biologist was up and about, cleaning up the bedroom and organizing a couple of things. He had purposefully woken himself up earlier to start preparing for the day. He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

Eventually, he finished eating, leaving almost nothing on the plate. He leaned back on the couch, pulling his lover’s closer to him. He smiled, spreading out his wings.

-> The biologist reached over and hugged onto his ruby, pulling the avian onto his lap with a chuckle, pressing a couple kisses onto his lover's cheek. "Hogging him like always, aren't you?" -> The heir huffs and cuddles up close, sitting on his knees and hugging onto the avian as well. "We're both allowed to love on him as much as we want, sapphire. I think you're just upset that I grabbed him first." "You're insufferable." "We're both insufferable. And Nate loves us dearly."

He smiled, giving Caleb and Traps kisses on the cheeks. He cuddled up against his opal, pulling his sapphire closer to the two.

Honestly, just hanging out with you two all day would have been a perfect gift for me. But I know neither of you would settle for something as simple as that.

He joked, his tail wagging faster. He closed his eyes, relaxing against his opal. Nate was silently thinking about what they had planned next, but he wouldn’t mind if they laid here for a little. He liked a slow start to his day.

But it seems like he wants to rest here for a little longer before we're up and on our feet for hours."

"We should be wanting to spoil our ruby, Caleb." "And we're going to, so stop acting like we aren't." -> The biologist cupped the avian's face, pulling Nate into a loving little kiss.

Nate was about to start talking before he got cut off by the kiss, though he was far from mad about it. He happily reciprocated the kiss, his tail wagging faster as he deepened it.

He kept his arms around Traps, one of his hands coming up and tangling in his hair. He wanted to give his sapphire some attention while still kissing his opal.

He already felt like he was melting at the affection he was given, but he’d try to keep his composure so he and his lovers could go out later.

I'd love to spoil you as much as you'd like." -> The biologist sighed with an eyeroll, pressing a kiss onto one of Nate's temples. "We'll leave once he's ready, sapphire. I'm sure we'll have all the time in the world to spoil our precious ruby." -> The heir nods and hugs onto both of his lovers. Or well, he tried, his arms weren't exactly the longest.

He hummed, glancing over at the other two before putting his phone away. "Our ruby needs to get himself all prettied up for us... We'll have to keep others away from him."

He joked, smiling up at his opal. He hugged his sapphire tightly before loosening his hold. He gave both his lovers a kiss before getting out of their cuddle pile.

"I would jokingly say "nothing", but we're going outside." -> The biologist reached over and slapped the back of the heir's head, pulling out his phone and showing the other something. "Ignore him. Just wear something you'd like, okay? I think the only fancypants one here is our little sapphire." -> The heir got up, rubbing the back of his head and hurrying out of the apartment for something.

He waited for a minute before softly giggling at what his sapphire said. He stopped and went over to his opal, giving him a peck on the cheek before going to his room.

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

-> The biologist whistles gently at seeing his lover, getting up and going over to the avian. He chuckles, eyes shifting into a soft pink color as his pupils slit into heart shapes. "Hello there, gorgeous." -> He hugs his lover from behind and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, pulling him close against his body. "Sapphire's got a fancy little limo waiting for us outside. Let's not keep him waiting, yeah?"

He joked, smiling as he began to walk. He held his opal’s hand, pulling him with them. His tail gently swayed behind him, occasionally glancing over at Caleb and smiling.

As they walked outside, Nate picked up the pace a bit. He walked faster now, hopping into the back seat with his lovers.

Hi, sapphire.

He smiled, giving Traps a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello, ruby." -> He chuckles and kisses his lover back, scooting over slightly to make room in the back. Caleb slipped himself inside, closing the door afterwards. "Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

He giggled, leaning into Caleb’s touch. His tail wagged against the limo seat, making a light thumping sound. His wings were pressed against his back, which did make Nate slightly uncomfortable. He didn’t like being in cars for long amounts of time because his wings always got sore from not moving.

Is there any place we should go first? I don’t really go to the mall all that often…

"I say we go window shopping, you know? Walk around and see what catches your eye, ruby." "I feel like we're going to come back home with several new outfits for him thanks to our sapphire." He gave his sapphire a kiss on the cheek, smiling as he pulled back. He gave his opal a kiss as well, leaning on his shoulder after. He wrapped one of his arms around Traps’ waist, pulling him closer.

I think going window shopping would work… and I do agree with Opal. We’ll probably end up having a whole array of dresses for me to try on.

He grinned, looking over at his sapphire.

He teased, smiling as he cupped his sapphire’s chin and kissed him. He pulled back shortly after, giving his lover a chance to speak.

"I stare at pictures of both of you." -> The biologist rolled his eyes and blushed darkly, looking away slightly as he cuddled up close to his ruby. Oh, he's going to be thinking about that for a while. "We should be at the mall soon enough."

He smiled as he turned to Caleb, whispering something to him. He wasn’t trying to be secretive about it, he just wanted to talk to his opal directly.

Don’t get caught up on it for too long. It’s normal. He usually takes them when you aren’t looking, he’s good at hiding it too.

He giggled, he couldn’t tell if he was trying to make Caleb think about it longer or not.

"I dislike both of you sometimes..." "You love us, sapphire." -> The limo pulled up to the mall, ignoring basically everyone else around it and taking up one of the bigger parking spots. The driver got out of the front and hurried to the back, opening the doors. "Come on, ruby." -> The biologist got up, grabbing his lover's hand and getting out of the car with him, the heir following right behind them.

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

He smiled as he began to walk into the mall with his boyfriends.

-> The biologist snickered as the trio got inside of the mall. Busy, full of people going about their day and shopping for whatever little items and knickknacks they needed.

-> Some were shopping, some were eating the mall food and some others were doing... Admins know what!

"Will we have enough space in the limo? Just in case we come out with a ridiculous amount of stuff?"

"We will, don't worry."

It’s already too big for just us three so I’m sure it’ll fit a pile of clothes, and whatever else we stumble upon.

He smiled, looking around at near by shops they walked by. Nothing really caught his eye yet, except when he did look around, he saw some people stare. Which didn’t bother him much, he always gets stares wherever he goes so he’s used to it by now.

-> Caleb's head immediately snapped towards the people who were staring, his pupils slitting sharp and causing them to look away.

"Maybe we could find you some new dresses? I feel like we could be in that store for hours... I'd be more than happy to buy you as many as you desire."

Nate wasn’t the type to do something as extreme as what he said, but he was possessive over his lovers. He never resorted to violence unless necessary.

He giggled, hugging onto his boyfriend.

He adjusts his glasses, feeling his face heat up at the thought of his ruby in any of them. "Let's see what we can find here, ruby. There's plenty of nice dresses here... But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

He looked over at his lover, noticing his face’s change in color. He smirked, pushing himself against his lover even more.

He smiles as he walked over to a rack of dresses, looking through them to see if any caught his eye.

"This is all about you, Nate." -> He commented and followed his lover, keeping his arms crossed behind his back as the other looked through the various dresses. He glanced around a little before looking back. "Pick whatever you'd like, dear. Whatever you'd like, whatever you'd be the most comfortable in. You'll look good in any of these if you ask me." -> He chuckles a little.

He giggled, his tail gently swaying.

I know this is all about me, but I like seeing you happy! Seeing you happy makes me happy! And if you’d like to see me in a specific dress, I’d be more than happy to!

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

I’ll take three different dresses to try on, then we can meet with sapphire and see how they are!

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

"Alright." -> He took notice of the dress his lover was staring at, moving closer and looking over the avian's shoulder with a raised eyebrow. He pointed down at it. "That one caught your eye, darling? Real pretty dress too... The lace pattern looks quite nice against that red." -> Of course someone like Caleb would comment on the smaller details of clothing...

Nate paused before letting out a dry chuckle.

He forgot to account for sizing. He struggled with sizing a lot, so he hoped there wouldn’t be any issues this time. He still took the dress, he’d just have to talk to someone about it.

He brushed it off for now as he took his boyfriend’s hand and took him further into the store. Nate began looking at a different rack now.

-> The biologist followed without a word, absentmindedly glancing at the several different racks of dresses as the two walked by them. He'd honestly think his ruby would look nice in a lot of them, but he kept his thoughts to himself. -> He interlocked fingers with his lover, making sure to keep up pace so that he wasn't too far from the other. Caleb's protective, borderline territorial behaviors were... Kind of noticeable, sometimes. "I think sapphire's going to be in paradise knowing he's going to spoil your rotten, ruby."

Oh for sure. He’s going to be in paradise just by looking at me in these dresses.

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

It is quite pretty… it’s like a mix between our colors…

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

And also, about the thing you said about sapphire, that’s kinda the point. As in, I was gonna get a dress in our colors: one red, one blue, and one like a white and yellow I guess. But the dress you just got has those yellows…

Caleb's always been one for fashion ever since his Choka years. "Let's get going to the dressing rooms then. I wouldn't be shocked if our sapphire's been waiting for us. I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."

They eventually make their way to the dressing rooms, Nate looked around to see if their sapphire was anywhere.

-> He glanced up briefly, a smile spreading across his face as he saw his lovers approach. He put his phone away, waving the others towards him.

After a short while, Nate came back out wearing that first dress he picked out. He smiled, smoothing out the dress a little.

I know you already wear a lot of red but that shade is particularly pretty with your wings." -> The heir walks up to his lover and grins, placing his hands on the avian's hips and gently squeezing them. "Don't mess up that dress, sapphire. We haven't bought it yet." -> Caleb goes over and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, chuckling softly at how handsy the heir immediately got.

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. "Also I would like for you to join me in my lab if you're not too busy. I have something for you. My apologizes that it's... A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Well, that was a bit of a lie. He was getting a bit tired, but he could stay awake if Caleb wanted him to.

His interests were peaked, curious what his lover made for him. His tail gently wagged as he followed his opal, keeping his wings against his back so they wouldn’t hit anything.

-> Caleb entered some little code into the keypad attached to the door, the door opening with a soft hiss. The door, once the pair were inside, closed with that same soft hiss. -> Caleb's lab was... Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

His tail gently hit the couch, waiting for his lover to give him something or maybe sit next to him. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he waited excitedly anyway.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He opened his eyes, smiling as he looked down at the necklace.

He held it in his hands for a moment before hugging onto his lover tightly, smiling as he nuzzled his head against his boyfriend’s. It felt nice his opal remembered his birthday.

He smiled, moving himself closer to Caleb and hugging his opal tighter. His tail wagged faster as he rested his wings, no longer pressing them against his back.

He helped me buy the materials so I could start the process of growing and developing these jewels." -> He flushed darkly and looked away, hugging onto his lover back and holding him close. He's embarrassed over this, but he's happy Nate loved it. "Sapphire has some big plan as well. We're both sorry we couldn't, y'know, give this stuff to you on your birthday. We hope what we've both got planned will..." "Make up for it."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

Don’t worry about it, my love. I don’t care what you two give me, the only thing that matters is that you actually remembered. I don’t care if it technically isn’t my birthday anymore, it’s close enough. It’s not like you gave me something a month later or anything…

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

Knowing sapphire, he’s going to do much more than I deserve… but if he wants to, I won’t stop him.

He paused for a brief second before speaking again.

He was trying to determine how long he had to stay awake for while still being conscious enough to appreciate what his sapphire set up for him.

-> He joked about that last part, pressing more kisses onto his lover's face.

He giggled, yawning a second later. Nate didn’t want to sleep yet, he still wanted to hang out with Caleb for a little longer.

Rather not have sapphire come bumbling down here and get hurt." -> He hugs his ruby a little tighter now, trailing his kisses a little lower before moving them back up to his lover's face, a gentle smile decorating his own. "It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

He just hummed in response, smiling slightly at the kisses. He rubbed his eye, trying to feel a little less tired with no avail.

As much as he didn’t want to, he’d go to sleep. He had a long day so he was more tired than he was normally.

He knew that if he went up before Caleb did, he’d most likely fall asleep right when he laid down. He wanted to at least cuddle for a couple minutes before he went to sleep.

-> He looked away slightly before getting up, reaching down a little and scooping up his lover into his arms, holding the avian close to his body. "I'll clean up later." -> He pressed a kiss onto the side of his lover's head, adjusting the avian in his arms before making his way towards the lab's door, tapping in the little keycode. "Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

-> He walked over to the bed, carefully setting his lover down and making sure he was comfortable before he started taking off all of his bits and bobs and his lab coat, setting them aside somewhere then getting into bed.

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

His wings stretched out, drooping a few feathers before they rested on his back again. He yawned, slowly drifting to sleep as his hold loosened.

-> By the next morning, the biologist was up and about, cleaning up the bedroom and organizing a couple of things. He had purposefully woken himself up earlier to start preparing for the day. He knew it would be ready today. "Are you done making the food?" "Yes, I am. Is he awake yet?" "No, but he might wake up at the scent of breakfast."

Nate slowly opened his eyes, blinking a couple times.

He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

"Are we still going to that one place?" "Yes, I'm sure our ruby will love it there."

Eventually, he finished eating, leaving almost nothing on the plate. He leaned back on the couch, pulling his lover’s closer to him. He smiled, spreading out his wings.

-> The biologist reached over and hugged onto his ruby, pulling the avian onto his lap with a chuckle, pressing a couple kisses onto his lover's cheek. "Hogging him like always, aren't you?" -> The heir huffs and cuddles up close, sitting on his knees and hugging onto the avian as well. "We're both allowed to love on him as much as we want, sapphire. I think you're just upset that I grabbed him first." "You're insufferable." "We're both insufferable. And Nate loves us dearly."

He smiled, giving Caleb and Traps kisses on the cheeks. He cuddled up against his opal, pulling his sapphire closer to the two.

Honestly, just hanging out with you two all day would have been a perfect gift for me. But I know neither of you would settle for something as simple as that.

He joked, his tail wagging faster. He closed his eyes, relaxing against his opal. Nate was silently thinking about what they had planned next, but he wouldn’t mind if they laid here for a little. He liked a slow start to his day.

But it seems like he wants to rest here for a little longer before we're up and on our feet for hours."

Nate was about to start talking before he got cut off by the kiss, though he was far from mad about it. He happily reciprocated the kiss, his tail wagging faster as he deepened it.

He kept his arms around Traps, one of his hands coming up and tangling in his hair. He wanted to give his sapphire some attention while still kissing his opal.

He already felt like he was melting at the affection he was given, but he’d try to keep his composure so he and his lovers could go out later.

I'm sure we'll have all the time in the world to spoil our precious ruby." -> The heir nods and hugs onto both of his lovers. Or well, he tried, his arms weren't exactly the longest.

Traps was more than willing to kiss his ruby as much as he wanted. -> The biologist chuckles and rolls his eyes, pulling out his phone as it started to buzz. He hummed, glancing over at the other two before putting his phone away. "Our ruby needs to get himself all prettied up for us... We'll have to keep others away from him."

He joked, smiling up at his opal. He hugged his sapphire tightly before loosening his hold. He gave both his lovers a kiss before getting out of their cuddle pile.

"I would jokingly say "nothing", but we're going outside." -> The biologist reached over and slapped the back of the heir's head, pulling out his phone and showing the other something. "Ignore him. Just wear something you'd like, okay? I think the only fancypants one here is our little sapphire." -> The heir got up, rubbing the back of his head and hurrying out of the apartment for something.

He waited for a minute before softly giggling at what his sapphire said. He stopped and went over to his opal, giving him a peck on the cheek before going to his room.

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

-> The biologist whistles gently at seeing his lover, getting up and going over to the avian. He chuckles, eyes shifting into a soft pink color as his pupils slit into heart shapes. "Hello there, gorgeous." -> He hugs his lover from behind and presses a kiss onto Nate's cheek, pulling him close against his body. "Sapphire's got a fancy little limo waiting for us outside. Let's not keep him waiting, yeah?"

He smiled, giving Traps a kiss on the cheek.

"Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

The driver got out of the front and hurried to the back, opening the doors. "Come on, ruby." -> The biologist got up, grabbing his lover's hand and getting out of the car with him, the heir following right behind them.

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

He smiled as he began to walk into the mall with his boyfriends.

But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

You'll look good in any of these if you ask me." -> He chuckles a little.

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

I’ll take three different dresses to try on, then we can meet with sapphire and see how they are!

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

"Alright." -> He took notice of the dress his lover was staring at, moving closer and looking over the avian's shoulder with a raised eyebrow. He pointed down at it. "That one caught your eye, darling? Real pretty dress too... The lace pattern looks quite nice against that red." -> Of course someone like Caleb would comment on the smaller details of clothing...

He forgot to account for sizing. He struggled with sizing a lot, so he hoped there wouldn’t be any issues this time. He still took the dress, he’d just have to talk to someone about it.

He brushed it off for now as he took his boyfriend’s hand and took him further into the store. Nate began looking at a different rack now.

-> The biologist followed without a word, absentmindedly glancing at the several different racks of dresses as the two walked by them. He'd honestly think his ruby would look nice in a lot of them, but he kept his thoughts to himself. -> He interlocked fingers with his lover, making sure to keep up pace so that he wasn't too far from the other. Caleb's protective, borderline territorial behaviors were... Kind of noticeable, sometimes. "I think sapphire's going to be in paradise knowing he's going to spoil your rotten, ruby."

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."

He giggled, smiling as his tail wagged. He bent down and picked up the fallen feathers, handing them to Caleb.

"I have my ways." -> He takes the feather, gently running his thumb over it before kissing his ruby's cheek, wrapping an arm around the avian and pulling him close. A little late." -> He didn't explain any more than that, pulling away from his lover and making his way towards where his lab was.

Decently sized, the perfect condition for a basically cyborg to sit down all day and do... Whatever little experiments he seemed to do. And yes, it was a slight mess in there. "Take a seat on the couch, dear. Close your eyes too."

He smiled, walking over to the couch and sitting down. He looked at Caleb for a moment before closing his eyes.

-> Shuffling could be heard, the shifting of boxes and supplies and whatever else the biologist needed to get his hands on. Eventually the noises stopped, a weight settling itself beside the avian. "Hold still, ruby." -> A soft click, the biologist leaning over and putting something a little cold around his lover's neck. "Happy birthday, ruby. I hope you like it." -> Around the avian's neck was... A necklace! A gold chain and some pretty little rubies that had been carefully shaped into small feathers, the ruby in the middle of the necklace formed into a heart shape. "I made those gemstones myself."

He listened as his lover talked, resting his head on Caleb’s shoulder.

He smiled up at his opal, his eyelids drooping slightly.

"It'd probably be best if we both got some sleep anyways, yeah? Who knows, sapphire could be all done with whatever his little plans are tomorrow morning..."

He just hummed in response, smiling slightly at the kisses. He rubbed his eye, trying to feel a little less tired with no avail.

As much as he didn’t want to, he’d go to sleep. He had a long day so he was more tired than he was normally.

"I'll clean up later." -> He pressed a kiss onto the side of his lover's head, adjusting the avian in his arms before making his way towards the lab's door, tapping in the little keycode. "Even if it's not exactly your special day anymore, I don't want to keep my beloved ruby waiting and alone."

He smiled as he was picked up, wrapping his legs around his lover’s waist. He rested his head on Caleb’s shoulder, gently nuzzling into his neck.

Mmmm… I don’t wanna be waiting on you either…

It was easy to tell he was drowsy since his words were slightly slurred. He melted against Caleb, struggling to keep his eyes open. He didn’t want to fall asleep in his boyfriend’s arms, so he was trying his best to stay awake.

He mumbled something, though it was quite literally unintelligible. His tail gently swayed in the air, and his wings rested loosely against his back.

-> The door closed behind them with that same soft hiss as the biologist carried the two of them up to the bedroom.

-> He walked over to the bed, carefully setting his lover down and making sure he was comfortable before he started taking off all of his bits and bobs and his lab coat, setting them aside somewhere then getting into bed.

Nate quickly took off the necklace, placing it on the nightstand. He decided that what he was wearing was good enough and didn’t bother changing.

He quickly clung onto Caleb, hugging onto him and nuzzling their head into his neck. Nate made a small hum, his tail hitting the bed lightly. He wrapped his legs around his lover, trying to get him as close as possible.

"Someone's cuddly tonight." -> He teased gently and reached down, grabbing the blanket and pulling it over the two of them. He kissed his lover's head before nuzzling his face into the other's hair. "Get some rest, ruby. I have a good feeling we'll have a very special day tomorrow."

He made a quiet coo before he nuzzled his head into the crook of Caleb’s neck, closing his eyes. He did already feel sleepy, so he almost instantly fell asleep when he closed his eyes.

His wings stretched out, drooping a few feathers before they rested on his back again. He yawned, slowly drifting to sleep as his hold loosened.

-> By the next morning, the biologist was up and about, cleaning up the bedroom and organizing a couple of things. He had purposefully woken himself up earlier to start preparing for the day. He sat up, his tail gently swishing behind him. As he heard his lovers talking, he woke up a little more. He stretched his wings, taking the blanket off and yawning. He got out of bed, sluggishly walking over to his boyfriends.

He sounded a bit tired still, but he was normally pretty sluggish right after he woke up.

"Good morning, ruby." "Happy late birthday, darling." -> The heir chuckles softly and blushes a little, holding up a small tray with some pancakes, eggs, bacon and a drink on it. Caleb clears his throat and looks away. "Opal and I made you breakfast. Or well, I made you breakfast." "I was cleaning up around the apartment."

He waited for a minute before softly giggling at what his sapphire said. He stopped and went over to his opal, giving him a peck on the cheek before going to his room.

As he entered, he went straight over to his closet, searching for something nice to wear. He eventually picked out a long, flow-y, white and blue dress. It was a simple ombré from white to blue, small embellishments sprinkled across the dress.

He started adding accessories, putting some golden cuffs on his dreads, a couple bracelets, but the most important part was the necklace. Specifically, the one his opal made for him yesterday.

After he finished getting dressed, he walked out into the rest of their apartment.

-> The biologist whistles gently at seeing his lover, getting up and going over to the avian. He chuckles, eyes shifting into a soft pink color as his pupils slit into heart shapes. "Driver, the mall." -> The heir snapped his fingers, the driver starting up the limo and pulling away from the apartment complex without hesitation. Caleb wrapped an arm around Nate, holding him close. "Watch. Sapphire's going to spoil you absolutely rotten while we're at the mall. You look at one thing and he's going to ask if you want him to buy it." "I will not!" "You will." "....I'll make sure to buy stuff he ACTUALLY wants, not just stuff he stares at."

Once he got out of the car, he stretched. His wings stretched out fully, getting a few stares from others. His wings rested on his back once more as he grabbed onto his sapphire’s hand, pulling both of his lovers close to him and smiling. He thanked the driver before turning towards the mall.

But I know you've got a particular taste in them." -> Caleb had his own taste in dresses, but they were... WILDLY different from what his beloved liked.

He smiled, looking at a dress for a little longer than the others. It was a velvet red dress with lace around the neck line and at the end of the puffy sleeves. There was also lace lining the bottom of the dress.

He took the dress off the rack, draping it on his arm.

Oh for sure. He’s going to be in paradise just by looking at me in these dresses.

He pulled his opal closer, smiling as they leaned against him. He was still looking through the rack, some dresses getting more attention than others.

He kept flipping through dresses, mumbling random things while doing so. He stopped at a blue dress with puffy white sleeves. It was decently long, going down to Nate’s ankles. The dress had pretty embroidered detail, some gems sewn on in patterns. He smiled and took it off the rack, draping it on his arm as well.

He smiled, looking up at Caleb as he walked to another rack.

"Sapphire's going to go feral if you wear that blue one around him. You know how possessive he can be." -> He teased gently and kissed his ruby's cheek as he followed. He took some glances at the dresses and racks as well, his eye lighting up a little at one them. "Look at this one, dear..." -> He reached over and pulled out a dress. A gradient one that started off red and slowly dipped downwards into a warm yellowish-gold color, lacey sleeves and a heart-shaped window on the chest. "This one's quite nice... Just don't know about the chest window cut into it... Kinda sparkly too if you look at it right."

Eh… I don’t have any dresses with a chest window but I don’t mind it… it’s not a deal breaker.

It is quite pretty… it’s like a mix between our colors…

He smiled, looking at the dress that his opal was holding up. His tail was still wagging behind him as he took the dress from his lover.

He giggled, giving his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.

And also, about the thing you said about sapphire, that’s kinda the point. As in, I was gonna get a dress in our colors: one red, one blue, and one like a white and yellow I guess. But the dress you just got has those yellows…

"You're terrible." -> He couldn't stop himself from chuckling as he followed his lover, feeling a small bubble of pride at being able to pick out something for his lover. Caleb's always been one for fashion ever since his Choka years. "Let's get going to the dressing rooms then. I wouldn't be shocked if our sapphire's been waiting for us. I think you should put on that blue one last, give him a little surprise." -> He pulls his lover close, wrapping his arm around the other's waist tightly. "Can't wait to see how beautiful you look."
