“One of my patient’s parents didn’t want me to start an IV because she said–and I quote–’I don’t want my child to be pumped with chemicals.’ Why even bring them to a hospital?” Matt ranted, rolling his eyes. “What are they going to do when their kid actually needs medication?” he huffed, running his hands through his hair. His day was stressful to say the least. He loved his job but the parents were insufferable sometimes. “Anyways, please tell me your day is going better than mine?”

“That’s fear mate” Robert pointed out as he sipped coffee from his paper cup, and threw it into the bin. “You’re going to have to explain to them, that they can either give their consent and we can treat their child or if they dont consent, their kid will get very sick. I mean, you just have to explain it in black and white terms. Sometimes they get it that way.” He explained sighing softly. “Patient care is the worst part of the job--but vital.” He advised as he opened his sandwich and took a bite out of it. “My day is going fabulously, I’ve had a mountain of gory surgeries and completed them successfully--my day is gonna’ get bad though, cause I’ve been asked to go to paeds. I’m not good with kids.”
