MUSIC DROP OFF

Just want to try share some music with people sided with my less than crass options. I am going to try and keep as mixed as I can and very much underrated and unheard of artists. If I can.. ROBYNN MARY ROSS

OH MY GOD! I don't know what not to love about this excellent tune by Blurt. They are a jazz-rock, post-punk band from 1979 in England, Gloucestershire. Founded by Ted Milton a Saxophonist, Poet and Puppeteer which by the way is very cool. What I love about this track is obviously the saxophone but not forgetting the those drums that give it total drum and bass vibes. It can come across as too abstract a lot of there records but often they are just serving as atmospheric backdrop for Ted Milton's 'out there' poetry.

When I heard these guys I loved them straight away, cool bass and sick distorted saxophone. Despite having some distinctive sounds I just realised I was listening to a Talking Heads rip off, especially as they have deliberate use of French lyrics as in to completely copy ‘Psycho Killer’. In saying that this late 1970s band from Bristol are pretty alright. Especially there complete over use of heavy saxophones sounds, which again is very cool.

So my first post is this little belter. You might recognise Chromatics from the soundtrack to the movie 'Drive' which indeed has a solid soundtrack. Check out the rest of Chromatics LP In The City. (But unfortunately in that album they do torture 'I'm on fire' by Bruce Springsteen)
