"NYEEEEH! Q-quit it, big V!" As strong as Rocco might be lifting that dynamo around, he's no match for the taller Vio. After a fair bit of squirming around, he eventually accepts his fate of noogies.

"Ya know me, jus' a lil guy. Da lil birthday guy. Maybe you'll treat 'dis lil birthday guy to dessert?"

@inky-anemone sent a birthday message: "Happy Birthday! Can I drag you out for dinner and a movie tonight then, Rocco?" Nemi has snuck one of the brownies he had out for grabs as she asks this.

"Ayyy thanks Nemi!" He smirks, glad his collection of bakes are being put to good use. Not that he couldn't eat them all (he most certainly could) but it's always nice to share the love and food. "I'd love da honors. Any neat place and movie ya got in mind?"

@orbitaldeathwoomy sent a birthday message: “Happy birthday, Rocco.” Koa handed him a small bag of homemade chocolates, all shaped like little squids, fish, and such. “I… needed help to get them right, but I hope you like them anyway…”

Rocco stares at the bag, taking in each different shape of chocolate. Even ones that were the same shapes had distinct, almost purposeful little differences between them. Each one lovingly hand-crafted, he can tell.

"N-no no, they're amazin'." He lifts his gaze up from the bag back to Koa with a big grin on his face. "Whoever helped ya musta had a good time."

"Tell ya what, I think da chocolatier here deserves to have a taste too!" He plants a quick smooch on Koa's cheek and wraps his arm around her. "How's about we share 'em together?"

"Friend Birthday!!"

Julian runs up to Rocco, a box of homemade cupcakes in his hands. They're a bit messy looking, some icing ended up on the side of the cupcake wrappers but hey! It's the thought that counts!

"For you!"

Someone like Rocco was never the overly critical type when it came to baking, especially not gifts from friends! Just the act of baking something for him is enough to set his eyes starry and his stomach rumbling. Sure, he might get a bit too wrapped into yelling at the TV whenever he sees bakers on Great Squiddish Bake Off make fatal errors, but that's compeltely different!

"Ahaha, thanks Julian! Dey look ready to eat right now! Ya did a perfect job with them." While those cupcakes might be messy and not perfect like he describes, Rocco's compliment is completely earnest.

"Happy birthday to meeee~!" For this special occasion, Rocco's got plenty of trays of bakes on display. Brownies and flapjacks, the works.

"Help yerselves to all 'dis. It's on da house."

Cue three hours later and he's sprawled along the couch half-asleep, a once-full tray of brownies nearly demolished on his table.

"D-dat's an outrage... he ain't left himself enough time! How’s he ever gonna expect to finish?!”

Ordinary things that feel Intimate

With travel to Inkopolis Square reopened, Julian’s been visiting Inkopolis in general a lot more. He’s only interacted with Rocco once before, but he’d already decided the other Inkling was his friend when he returned his lost wallet to him!

So obviously the next step was to play games together. There’s a reason The Shoal is practically everywhere Inkfish hang out!

"I win!"

Julian grins, looking at Rocco as he points at the fighting arcade machine screen. He seems oblivious to the fact the other let him win, more excited to see his name on the screen.

Maybe Rocco's occasional game-playing in his life gave him an upper hand. Maybe it was recent experience that's improved his epic gamer skills. Either way, Rocco had this match in the bag!

Well... that wasn't entirely true. They seemed pretty evenly matched up until the end, where Julian's character had just whiffed a move. A move with a long recovery time, one that Rocco had more than enough time to counter with. In the end, he didn't, and Julian took the win from him.

"Aha, ya got me good! Blame 'dese clumsy hands." He rubs the back of his neck, hoping Julian hadn't noticed his hands were anything but clumsy for once. Even better than having a victory for hismelf, it was nice to see Julian out and about, not having to suffer loss after loss against an expert... like Rocco's suffered many times.

"Ya feel like you're gettin' da hang of it yet?"
