Just finished setting up the art on loan from the Berkeley Art Museum’s African Art exhibit for my departmental talk European Settlers and the Appropriation of African Art and Culture.  I will be speaking on African Art that has been stolen by Europeans.  I will go into some of the history of the pieces, the communities stolen from, and our graduate course designed to help return pieces to their countries of origin.

Now to get ready for the Masquerade so I can escort my beautiful wife.

That’s so awesome! I feel like it’s fairly difficult to not end up with doubles at something like this. I love seeing all the beautiful intricate masks. @prewittfuckingknewit​

Spent most of my day cozy and reading. Feeling relaxed and ready to have some fun at this masquerade. Can’t wait to see everyone’s masks. It’s always fun to see what people choose.

what is the pettiest thing you have ever done?

Well, I'm not really a petty person, but in middle school one of the girls that hung out with us was being a real jerk to my friend so when she wasn't looking I shook up her soda at lunch. It exploded all over her when she opened it. It was really satisfying but I have also kind of always felt bad about it.

I just got back from getting coffee, but at this point I think I have more coffee than blood in me right now, so I am more than happy to go get another cup. Or maybe I’ll just get some green tea…

I definitely know the feeling. About the time you start to hear the color nine it’s usually a good idea to switch to the tea haha. I’ll buy you something less caffeinated. <3
