brand new day but in the scene where frank tells peter “oh you think you’re like me?” he quotes karen’s speech about loneliness:
“you know, a friend once told me that all we’re doing in life is fighting not to be alone.” with a big ass smile on his face followed by an expression that reads like immense regret about something he can’t pinpoint yet.
and peter immediately realizes he’s not talking about an /ordinary/ friend but chooses to keep quiet about it, cause who is he to talk! when he feels they have bonded enough, he might ask again.
when the time finally comes for peter to meet karen, he sees frank lighting up at the mere sight of her and he immediately understands: she is the reason he still has a purpose.
