So many people with migraines are like “zero calorie sweeteners give me migraines” and then people are like “no you don’t there’s no proof for that” and yet whenever I eat stevia my head feels like there’s a thousand metal rats trying to escape from it no matter how many times I’m told that I’m making it up.

something I've seen floating around in the L&Co fandom quite a bit that surprises me is discussion around this quote from THB:

“You’re wheezing like an asthmatic sloth. It would help to lose a little weight. Like that bit on your hips Lockwood’s always going on about.” “What? He doesn’t—”

personally I thought Skull was completely pulling Lucy's leg, having noted her insecurities through observation and using this—combined with her complex relationship with Lockwood—to get under her skin. but I've seen some people take Skull's words seriously, and believe Lockwood has actually spoken about Lucy's hips on multiple occasions.

so I'm curious! how did you interpret that interaction?

skull's the type of character that says a lot of truthful things in a twisted way by spinning events his way or leaving out important bits. so, i could see skull pulling lockwood's words out of context. maybe he was making a comment on lucy's body in a context of buying new kit, like getting new scabbards for the team but noting that everyone's needs are different because lucy's hips are not the same as george's hips etc etc

i just can't shake off the feeling that lockwood talking about lucy in, what's implied to be, suggestive context is really out of character for him. but knowing stroud's humour it could've been the complete opposite, like lockwood trying to be too respectful of lucy to the point where him trying to find a more neutral way of saying something about her appearance leads to “going on about that bit on her hips”. i can see this one being the case as well

did you know the cops once found a fully functioning movie theater with a well-stocked bar inside the catacombs and they when they tried to go back later to formally investigate it was completely emptied out save for a note that read "don't search for us"

my little bro is part of the catacombs community and yeah, it's basically a fully autonomous society! enough that when my bro goes in on a friday night, they don't come out until monday for work- sometimes longer if they took days off.

some of the rooms have fully stocked pantries with cooking equipment, some have movies like the one described above, some have books you're allowed to just take but people always put back- every day people bring things from the outside. artists often set up galleries there. there are rooms with mattresses and hammocks set up for people to sleep. one of the room is just a place where people leave shoes for the fun of it.

this is Known, it's not a secret by any means. the catacombs are as big as paris itself, and people live there just as people live above. it's wonderful when you think about it.

Several weekends of work and a couple of burned fingertips later, my 35 Portland Row bookend is finished. 🥳

Made of mostly styrofoam, cardboard, acrylic paint, and copious amounts of hot glue.

It lights up and is a little higher than the height of an A3 piece of paper.

Little details include:
