this is yet another attempt to revive this super neglected tumblr account. the semester ended a week ago and now i can be at leisure as much as i want. recently traveled to someplace and visited these two bookshops, although i remembered i still have a dozen on my reading list, so i only bought one book. anyway, i just finished reading j.d. salinger’s the catcher in the rye and am currently reading dubliners by james joyce.

living really does get easier when you have something to look forward to

there are just some books that i can’t read again. it’s not because i find them traumatizing or scary or uninteresting or that i’ve outgrown them. i simply think some books were meant to be read exclusively in the specific time you read them and not another. ofc looking back on past favorites and comforts is a staple, but there are also books that are so representative of your past you might get sucked in if you pull them out of the shelf idk

recent reads! my life lately has been a cycle of reading, listening to music, language learning, going to school, watching, hanging out with friends, and ofc sleeping, but thankfully it’s never mundane.

my latest read is seneca’s why i am a stoic which is my third five-star read this year on goodreads. i mean who doesn’t love a good classic slash a self-help book for the evolved mind.

also, stream shelly 2 and lorde’s new album virgin !! a cathartic experience, really 🎧

hi! long time no posting here. i’ve recently remembered that i have a studyblr and tried to figure out the mystery of my coming-back-and-leaving-and-coming-back yet again in here.

i’m currently enrolled this june and july but for a short term and with only two courses. and so here’s my recent desk setup! :D it’s been rainy lately and so i need all the coziness and warmth to keep me up on cold nights.

i haven’t really been active here because i’ve been busy with midterms and the exams are coming up. but i’m able to have a brief period of rest right now and another after my exams. also been trying to get back into reading.

been feeling pretty energetic and motivated this week, even getting out of bed before the sunrise as the days get warmer and longer. so I'm channeling that energy towards writing the 10k words I need to submit by december. i do not know when the next crash will happen. it's all a chaotic mess of rage writing but writing is the only way through which i can think.

Hey! I love your editing style! How do you achieve that? Any tips would be great.

i don’t really know how i manage to get the look that i want with my photos bc it’s a whole trial-and-error process. i’ve been using adobe lightroom for years now so i think it just became somehow easier to handle, but i did start off by watching tutorials on youtube. but for the most part of finding my style, i just use a reference photo with a filter i like and then i try to replicate it by playing with the settings until the edit more or less feels like the filter on the reference :))

hitting the ground running (at least trying to)

i may or may not currently be doing great at pulling late-night grinds. my mind is so alive but my body just can’t keep up so i just end up going to bed and rushing to finish my work last minute lol. at least i still get some sleep tho.

it’s exam season so i’ve been out for consultations and finishing up assignments with friends. i’m [so so so] glad to say that i’ve cleared up my tasks a bit so i could focus on my written exams for now:))

exams are fast approaching which means my view will be my table most of the time. my tasks are already piling up but i’m glad that i can still take things easy and find time to balance life and school.

not-so-fun fact: caffeine doesn’t have much effect on me. even if i drink an unsweetened black coffee i will still yawn immediately after finishing it lol

you might think watercolor is my hobby but it’s actually for an assignment. i’m kind of like an art student :D

for the url, it was bc i was bad at creating cool usernames so i just used elements from the periodic table since i was also into chemistry back then. that’s why around the time i created this blog my usernames were either roentgenium or mendelevium lol

falling back into routine

it’s been a long while since i actually posted something academic in this account, or posted anything at all for that matter. i made this account before 11th grade and now i’m in my second year of college. so many things have changed since then and i’ve moved to different places twice to study. i admit that i still have a long way to make myself home in my program but it’s also nice to improve through little things even if slowly.
