So let me get this straight. Conformitygate:
Is foreshadowed in series by a video game (not the first time they’ve done that- dig dug and season two) and a D&D game (end of season 1, also a common trope for the show)
Fixes most if not all of the glaring potholes in vol 2 and 3
Explains the set, writing, and lighting changes, maybe even the acting and cgi changes too
Can be proved from a budget standpoint(s5 took approx 150 million more to make than s4 why?)
Can be proved from a timing standpoint ( Ross duffer documented filming of s5 consistently from like Feb to aug then went dark for four months till it completed in December)
Can be proved SEVERAL times from a vision board standpoint (blaire witch, the matrix, Truman show)
Can be proved from a Netflix standpoint (episodes aren’t registered, theater tickets were sold in the form of vouchers)
Explains the weird interview behavior (which under normal circumstances would be a PR nightmare)
Explains the promo that didn’t match up whatsoever (merch not relevant, duffers saying no ambiguous endings)
Seems insane but really this isn’t the first time something has done something like this (maybe not this exactly but meta games and movies and shows exist, case in point, the ones listed above)
Has reached mainstream and the GA
has not been disproven by anybody(Cutgate was shut down within 24 hours of it popping up in byler dominated spaces, which is also where conformitygate originated)
And okay, I’m not saying that we’re gonna get a new season, or a new episode, or that the documentary is the secret episode 9, or that we’re gonna get anything tomorrow or in the 12th, but that’s a hell of a lot of coincidences all pointing in the same direction to mean nothing.
