Jean-Eric Vergne has admitted he was hospitalised recently amid an extreme weight-loss regime for the 2014 season.

Bigger than teammate and Toro Rosso newcomer Daniil Kvyat, the slight Russian teen, Frenchman Vergne admitted he committed to losing several kilograms over the winter to prepare for F1’s much heavier new cars.

Opens June 29: “Twenty-Four in New York”   Brett Amory Jonathan LeVine Gallery, 529 W20th St., NYC (9th FL) Amory’s work portrays abstracted studies of urban life through fragmented cityscapes and anonymous, isolated figures. The exhibition includes twelve paintings documenting different locations throughout the city, some iconic institutions and others of the sadly, rapidly disappearing variety. The artist will also create a site-specific installation around one of the paintings, which incorporates a magazine stand with architectural components. - thru July 27
