“Oh fuck off, Rohan…” Rolling his eyes, he met the other man’s sarcasm with some as well. “I know a job is a job, I wouldn’t have taken it if it wasn’t going to open doors for me, especially with us being friends and all that, but it’s your competition, so yeah, it’s still weird for me.” It was probably the first time Tae had gotten this real with Rohan about… well, about pretty much anything. All they did in the past was talk video games and some casual conversation here and there… about Joon, about Rohan’s family, about nothing too personal, but Taemin figured that, since they were trying this thing where they were friends, he could be a little less distant and actually open himself a little. Just a little, because before things could get awkward (or–more awakward), Taemin was cracking jokes again, being his charming self. “Well, that’s what you get for not starting a games section at Titan, man… you lose your best guy to the competition.” He winked, offering the older man a little smirk as they continued walking.
“Honestly though–what’s up with that?” He said, choosing to ignore Rohan’s comment about him being nervous. What was up with that indeed? It wasn’t like he owed Rohan anything in the first place. “I thought you’d have started working on that games section by now… I mean, you’re just as much the owner of Titan as Mr. Champion, right? And you’ve always talked about making it happen. What’s holding you? You got the company, you got the money–by the end of summer you might even get me.”
Rohan and Taemin were like one in the same in what felt like a lot of ways. One of those ways being that they took to sarcasm probably way too fast and typically avoided anything too serious or personal. So, while there was still some sarcasm in Taemin’s response, the younger man admitting that it was weird kind of threw Rohan off. The ever-so-charming and seemingly indestructible Taemin. But it was understandable, he supposed, because he did bounce right on over to his competition. When he threw that question at him though, Rohan tried to give it some thought before simply spewing an answer. Plus, it allowed his friend to rattle on a little more and thus earning a small laugh out of Rohan about possibly getting the other by the end of summer. Did anyone ever tell him he really shouldn’t word things like that?
“I don’t know,” Rohan finally started, rubbing the back of his neck. “Technically, yes. We’re equal owners. I was considering leaving Titan there for a while and trying to get into something more. But then I’d be starting at the bottom and trying to work my way up again. Feeling a bit too old for that, seeing as I’ve already done it once. Once in a lifetime, plenty enough for me.” He tried to add some humor to it. “Who told you I have the money? I am astounded.” Rohan placed a hand over his chest with a fake gasp before smirking and dropping his hand back down, slipping them into his pockets as they walked. Money wasn’t ever something he talked about but if anyone knew his actual job title, it wasn’t exactly a surprise of course. “I’ve already brought it up to Aaron. He’s fine with the idea. So, I do have my bases covered. It’s just setting it in motion and getting the right people.”
