This car got stuck in sand in Sittwe’s IDP camp. Roingyas in the area gather around the car to free it. All wanted to push in spite of the fact that most had not been nourished fully in a very long time.

Happy Mother’s Day to All Rohingya Women!
Yesterday May 2nd I Twitted this photo with caption “Rohingya Abdul Gafuu of Baw Du Pha Camp in Sittwe IDP needs urgent medical care”. Today I learned that a fire destroyed Baw Du Pha Camp leaving nearly 2000 “stateless” “refugee” homeless. Many were injured
Another Death Due to lack of Medical Treatment and Malpractice
Few weeks ago this man was bitten by a dog. Went to the hospital and was denied anti-rabies vaccine. On April 30th 2016 he got seriously sick. A doctor told him he had a “bad disease”, gave him an injection and immediately after the shot the man died.

On March 11th I emailed this photo portraying Emanhuson and his mother Husna Begum, taken by a resident of an IDP camp, to the UNOCHA officer in Sittwe and to many other officers + human rights agencies. I wrote them that this hydrocephalus infant needed urgent surgery. No one answered but on March 26th, after the publication of the interview (here in English) and the Press Briefing held at the UN in New York, I received from a friend living in a camp the news that Save the Children and the OCHA had taken the infant to Yangon General Hospital.
Anjuma Begum, deceased resident of Dapaing / Than Thawlee Temporary IDP Camp, Sittwe, Rakhine, Myanmar
Stefano Vaccara, Editor of La Voce di New York, reported to UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq on UNOCHA’s lack of action concerning Anjuma Begum’s illness. Vaccara also asked if the Secretary-General plans to address the Rohingya situation in Sittwe. The UN Press Briefing was held on March 21, 2016.
