@rokubantai-taicho
i love how you portray byakuya so well, and your writing style is beautiful
[I am not sure when this was sent but thank you! Bya isn’t a muse that shows his face often and I haven’t really developed him much at all (and my confidence in my writing and as an rper in general has dwindled considerably since I started here) so this is undeserved but greatly appreciated!]
True creativity is not the product of consciousness but rather the "phenomenon of life itself." True creation must arise from mu-shin 無心, the state of "no-mind," in which thought, emotions, and expectations do not matter.

Birthday? Ha!
It was a typical average boring day in the Society, or that is what the silver headed captain of the 3rd division thought to himself. He had been hearing from a few sources that it was a particular captain’s birthday and so he decided he would cause a little mischief to make it… uneventful. He started with slipping into his office to mess with his ink pots, make it so that the pens he used would get stuck and be rendered useless. He then preceded to hide what paperwork was on the man’s desk within his lieutenant’s own desk. Of course, the snake made sure the captain was away before doing this before slipping away himself to find a spot to watch for Byakuya’s reaction.
An ordinary day; dull and uneventful to say the least. Many people would have found this disappointing, but not him. The morning was all but already spent by the time captain returned to his office, a fresh stack of his lieutenants reports under his arm, a cup of tea in hand and the prospect of at least an hour of uninterrupted productivity (lets be optimistic here...). That is until he noticed a distinctive reiatsu lingering in his office which he pointedly decided to ignore completely as he shut the door behind him and headed towards his desk (noting that it was now rather empty - perhaps Renji had decided to take initiative and get some of the backlog paperwork that had been piling up done for once before he had to once again wade through terribly written mission reports and decline hundreds of pointless requisition orders. He would deal with that later.) Setting down the tea he reached for a brush and absently dipped it into the ink well without a second thought only to have the entire pot attach itself to the brush as he tried to raise it. A blink and then his cold steel eyes narrowed in acute annoyance. Then, in painful slow motion, the ink well dropped off the brush, hit the desk and rolled splattering ink all over the previously unblemished reports. With an exasperated sigh, the brush was shot deftly across the room to bury itself in the wall, inches from where the serpent had been hiding.
"I suppose you find this amusing, Gin." It was going to be a long day.

"Heh, you don’t have to repeat yourself twice, taichou. Thanks a lot! I’ll be sure to make the most and enjoy this day off you’ve gifted me with." A pause before he finally added after much thought. "Maybe we can have some tea tomorrow morning?" Renji handed in the paperwork he’d been working on, gave the captain a quick bow, awaiting his reply before he left.
Glancing up and reaching for the paperwork, timeously completed he noted and in passable handwriting too, the captain gave a nod at the suggestion. "There is no need for thanks. I do expect you in the training hall later tomorrow as well... but tea would be appreciated."
Picking up his brush again he dipped it into the ink but paused briefly to issue his lieutenant with one last order. "Oh, and do enjoy your day, Renji."
"I suppose since it is your Birthday, it wouldn't hurt to give you the day off to spend it as you wish."
"Taichou… Uh. You sure about this?" It’s just a birthday, no biggie. But wow. Thanks!
"Why wouldn't I be." Continues with the report he had been working on without skipping a beat. "Now leave and make the most of it before I change my mind."
"You may try to strike me. I shall take your life before you can finish a single swing of your sword." Kuchiki Byakuya
❝I’m in the midst of a prank war- forgive my skittish attitude Kuchiki-taicho.❞
As uptight as ever, it seemed. Whilst Gin held some semblance of respect for the older male, it wouldn’t stop his thoughts from referring to him as one of the most boring people for Gin to know. Byakuya seemed to suck the fun out of all Gin did. Whilst he may have a lot to hide considering the up-coming year there was no way he was going to let on to it at all.
❝Although, now I’m admittedly curious. Where are ya going?❞
"I am merely personally returning some documents I borrowed from the sanbantai archives, since my lieutenant is otherwise engaged. Nothing to cause concern," he said calmly. He had a lot on his mind so perhaps he was seeing shadows where there weren't any. Perhaps...He paused for a moment and raised an eyebrow, curiosity getting the better of him despite himself.
"Prank war? I see, then you would be rather busy." No doubt leaving the actual work to his lieutenant. Had to commend the man's delegation skills. Gin had always done things his own unique way and somehow got results regardless of his disdain for responsibility.
Is sort of tentatively revisiting this muse after the longest time.
