he could see she was out of it. and the fact that she was leaning against him so weakly told him as much. ' rest when you're done? are you dumb?! ' shakes his head at her and then just picks her up like she's a feather while giving her an unimpressed stare. ' such a dumbo. you're going home to rest. now. '

It seemed a bit more convincing and logical in her own head, but when he repeats it back she recognizes the lack of sense in her words, destroying her stubbornness. Before a second longer she's off of her feet, but her head is spinning from too many things that she doesn't even react to the change. "Wait-- I... " She presses an open palm to his chest before she tries to negotiate, hoping it will halt his steps. Amidst the haze of her mind, there is still one thing she's wanting to prevent. "Let me rest it off at your place." The request slips off her tongue easily enough, but she follows it with another alternative. "...Or get the spare futon in my office."

Having been spotted and called out by Renji  at one of her favorite spots upon one of the branches of the trees within the thirteenth’s area, Rukia had moved to descend to ground level. What she failed to check was her landing spot, landing directly on Renji and having them tumble to the ground together, with Rukia on top of him.

As she opened up her eyes and became aware of the change of perspective, she came to realize just how close Renji’s face was to her. So close that her lips were upon his. It was only for a moment before she quickly sat up, her face red, head spinning, both from her fall and from all the sudden thoughts running in her mind.

She normally would have made some remark about him being unable to catch her, but instead she remained stunned and flushed. Her head was like the constant bouncing of a pinball, and she would do her best to reason with herself that it was nothing more than a press of lips. She might have thought about kissing before, but it was always tied to a joke or in teasing, but this one was different. Realizing she hasn’t said a word, she quickly forces some words out, but she is far from composed yet. “S-Sorry! I didn't mean to-- That wasn’t– ”

There is a surprised expression on Yumichika's face as he puts down the chopsticks that had been used to empty the bowl set on the table in front of him. Luckily the meal was just about finished anyway so this sudden interruption wouldn't be too much of a hassle or ruin his daily scheduling. Looking up at the redhead before gesturing to the empty chair on the opposite side of the table, the beauty spoke up with a curious tone.

"I'm all ears. What's up?"
