[ SO. As you're all aware, this blog is Not Very Active! This is mostly due to the fact that the original way I'd move story along was via... asks. Like an ask blog. And along with that, they would all have unique doodles to go along with them. ]
[ This, as you can guess, was extremely exhausting. And basically destroyed my motivation. It went adios. ]
[ So! I've decided on two things, both of which will change the way the blog operates! In this I'm hoping I can start being more active for you all, so don't be too disappointed that I'm basically retconning anything that's happened so far. ]
[ One, I've decided to move along the story in uninteractive comic form! This is mostly so that I can get more done in a shorter amount of time; it'll move the story along better and I don't have to worry about asks that I can do nothing with. ]
[ And two! The ask box will usually be closed, but will open every 10 to 15 pages, depending on what's going on! Scenes like fights will usually extend the limit to 15 pages if it's split near the end of the 10 pages limit. This is to keep any interupptive asks that try to change the story to a minimum. ]
[ Also! Any time the inbox break comes with a bench in story, then you can interact directly with nearby characters! This is to keep interest up and also for lore that wont be touched on in the main story itself! ]
[ I'm genuinely hoping this makes the wait more tolerable and the story more enjoyable ^^ I understand if this is less appealing than the direct interaction aspect, but like. That was very harmful for my health so I hope you understand why I decided to change it up! I just really wanted to be active again aha- ]

If Radi is taking Grimm's place, is there a light/dream-equivalent to the Nightmare Heart? Will Absolute Radiance work as the counterpart to Nightmare King Grimm here?
[ yepyep! i havent quite figured out the deal with radis nightmare heart equivalent yet - dream soul?? idk somethin fancy like that - but i do know she has it! and absolute radiance WILL take place as her nkg counterpart. though to be fair, due to her changes in general, her moveset and battle phases and all that stuff will be heavily edited. she doesnt get eaten by void or fly way high up in the sky, man, shes just vibing on the ground <3 ]
I wonder how different the attacks and moveset for swapped-Ghost would be. (think Pure Vessel fight in Godmaster DLC)
[ wellll ive been thinkin abt that quite a bit actually! movesets will be similar to their in game counterparts - ie, ghost will have a move similar to descending dark, where they do the same motion with their nail that pure vessel does, but has an impact similar to soul masters phase two ground slams! they have the shade soul thing, though they fire off two small ones in place of one large one. they also have the howling wraiths, which will have a slightly similar effect to pure vessels focus attack, where the main part is right above them, but little bits shoot off and âscreamâ away from them. im thinkin for their âin the eggâ counterpart, theyd have an attack similar to hollows âinfection spewâ where its just straight up Literal Fire. painful! ]
[ yes i know they got their spells from the snail shamans in source dont question how they have them here im just going off of cool points tbh. just pretend there was a snail shaman that helped teach them or something JHDBHJDBHJDB ]
What would you say about swapping the Godseekers and Grimmkin?
[ oooooo, thats actually pretty interesting! they are pretty similar, what with the sort of... hive-mind esque themes with the masks/crests and the whole âgod of godsâ thing with the godseekers and the âfocus on the nightmare heartâ with grimmkin. ill consider it! :) itd make quite a bit of sense, and would be fairly interesting in concept! ]
Who makes the Dream Nail in your au? Can it even be called a 'Dream' Nail, because nightmares are involved?

Would you consider swapping the Mantis Lords and Traitor Lord? If so, would it also extend to swapping the Traitor Lord's daughter and the Grey Mourner?
[ one, yes! i do plan to swap mantis lords and the traitor lord! tbh i think itd make the mantis lords fight - dubbed âtraitorous sisters,â as a placeholder name. might be changed to just âthe traitorsâ - more frantic than it already is. think sisters of battle but at like.. 200% speed LMAO ]
[ traitor lord - placeholder name âlone leaderâ - would be much more chilled out. probably wouldnt do 2x damage, but still has some tough attacks, especially tough to dodge. hes also very polite :) ]
[ as for grey mourner and the traitor lords daughter, im not sure! in the context of source, the mantis tribe wanted nothing to do with pk, so i think thatd extend here with the swapped tribe. tld probably wouldnt be shunned for being with grey mourner because its less Like That, but thered still be that rift that happens because of. yknow. gestures at the everything. i dont think those two would swap around, though, because thatd make tld a great knight, and i doubt theyd be allowed to leave the tribe like that to be a knight for the wl of all people. maaaybe itd be swapped in the context of whos still alive, yknow? tld would be more protected in the mantis village when theyre not surrounded by infected mantis lmao. idk, this isnt something ive thought too hard on, since they wouldnt really be seen too much! ]
In canon, PK was spawned from a giant primal version of himself. You got an equivalent origin for White Lady?

[ basically just. really really big tree that was snapped a bit, rotting and with a large gash in it - and its completely hollow. an empty seed, split in half, sits in the middle with a seal over it and a queens brand in the center. :) she, as a very young sapling, was more mobile, carried to the kingdom by a bird. deciding to make her home there, and when she was older, her own kingdom, she waited until she was older and grew large - very large - before splitting herself off from her body, reforming in a seed to become a much more reasonable size to manage a kingdom. ]
So does Quirrel 'deal with' the Greenpath vessel just like canon-Hornet?
[ similarly, yes! hes quick about it, because his goal isnt to have the vessel [or maybe vessels?] that he kills suffer - its more of a âyour entire existence and the rest of your life will be flled wth so much pain and i dont want you to go through thatâ thing. ]
[ though the way he does it is less of a âstabs youâ and more of a âcome here i promise i will not hurt you im going to poison you soooo bad i am just a friendly pillbug i am violent and full of sadness ]
What if you role-swapped Sly and the Nailmasters? You'd have the Three Great Nailsages - their characterizations might remain the same, except that the enmity between two of them had to do with their beloved pupil (son) Sly, about whom there were disagreements on how to train (and raise) him.
[ ohh, thats a really good idea, anon! ill admit, when i considered the fact that i had doubted that the nailmasters would be interacted with at all in the blogs story, i never had a set in stone swap for them! i had ideas, of course, but decided that future me would deal with it [again, ive got a crocodile wrestling style of writing and Man its frustraiting at times lmao] but like!! this is so good!!! i am thinking SO hard about it you dont understand thank you so much for offering this idea bcos i genuinely might just take it up as canon to the au JHBHJDBHD ]
Does Grimm take Radiance's place? If so, is the Queen-White Lady responsible for his near-erasure from public memory, or is it still her husband?
[ yep, grimm takes radis place! and while pk still does have a major part in grimms near erasure, a lot of it WAS wl. she had a much, much larger part in it than source wl. of course, neither are completely innocent - pk was adament about the vessel plan, wl was adament about destroying what little memory of grimm was left - but its not a one did more than the other in all. wl did more in the grimm department, but pk did more in the vessel. they even eachother out due to that when totalled up, but with each catagory on their own, well.. ]
[ wl isnt as innocent in this as she would like to come off as. it was her idea in the first place, after all. ]
I guess if Little Spirit finishes breaking the seal by doing Monomon last, Quirrel will be there to pay his respects, just like with Hornet and Herrah in the game proper.

Would Hornet have a 'Blue Lake'-ending in your au? I'd imagine that if she didn't take her dubious origins + relation to the Little Spirit and their siblings + the fate of her mother (considering her involvement in all this) all too well...
[ in my original plot for the au, yes! there was a blue lake type ending, almost exactly as source quirrels, but then i decided that was a bit too boring, especially for her. my current one is, well.... i know i probably wont get around to it here so ill just tell you all <3 ]
[ her âblue lakeâ ending would have her end at the howling cliffs. she talks about how she had hoped to do more for both the spirit and her sibling in the egg, as well as having hoped to at least make sense of the whole bargain and her heritage. talks some about a few other things, before admitting that she felt like it would be better if she left hallownest and started anew, to eventually heal from what had happened. the next time spirit comes to visit the last place she was, there would be a symbol of a weaver carved into a rocky wall behind her place, and in a little divet under it, the weaversong charm. that carving would stay there. ]
[ and i like to think that maybe spirit leaves a delicate flower [unsure if i should keep those in or not but i probably will just for the hell of it] there :) ]
