Tsar Nicholas II’s daughters rollerblading on the deck of the imperial yacht, 1910
"Dad mostly skated outside. Like, in the mall or bank parking lots doing goofy old school tricks which I thought he was making up and naming himself but apparently not. When skate parks became more popular he took my sister Lolly and me to the local ones in Philadelphia (FDR), Montgomeryville (Cheapskates, my local park) and Warminster (Ivyland). He worked overtime to send me (a gymnast) and Lolly (skateboarder) to Camp Woodward, when it only cost about $300. a kid."
