really tempted to post to r/landlord to ask what we should do about a really problematic and destructive tenant

they don't pay any rent or utilities. it's actually a perk of their employment with me, but there's an agreement that they can't make any significant structural changes to the property without permission. recently they told me they were thinking of making some cosmetic updates which would have been allowed, but I checked in on the property recently and they literally hired a full on demolition team.

Donald Trump mentioned wanting to update and renovate the East Wing with a new ballroom. It's very normal for interior redecoration to happen from president to president, and even for renovations for upkeeping the integrity of the building have happened before (with lots of documented evidence of the process! Cf. The Truman renovation).

However, this week, he actually had the entire 123 year old East Wing demolished.

I mean it straight up was fucking levelled.

It doesn't fucking exist anymore.

The American people are the owners of the White House. Americans are Donald Trump's landlord. The home is ON LOAN for the duration of his service as a perk of the job. He doesn't pay rent for it. And he just bulldozed our fucking property. We didn't even get a security deposit out of this idiot.

I've only completed 2 acts of the Xenoblade X epilogue, and I already have to pretend it doesn't exist to feel motivated to do any side quests

SPOILERS:

I get that they have to set up a sequel (I'm assuming that's where this is leading?) and that they need to explain why everyone is on a new map. I haven't played act 3 yet but Im pretty sure I know how it ends. I feel like it defeats the point of the game by just destroying Mira and moving on.

Act 2 especially feels like it exists to convince the player that you need to move on. I feel very similar to the characters that wanted to stay behind due to their attachments with certain places or species. I don't like that they have to suddenly leave Mira. I've been playing this game since I was about 10, and I'm 20 now. This game and Mira have literally been around for half my life and mean a lot to me. And now playing the game, and doing other side quests feels kinda pointless when I remember what's awaiting me in the story. I'm about to get my first Area 90, something I never actually did in the original game, and I don't feel excited about it when I feel like nothing in this game matters anymore.

What's funny is I didn't get this feeling with Xenoblade 3 at all, despite there being a similar ending, although even more devastating as the characters (presumably) don't remember anything. I'm not sure if it's the nostalgia, or if xc3 handled it better, if it's because I saw 3s universe destruction early in the game so it was less of a shock. I'm not sure. I do think chapter 13 has the potential to be a good story however, just as another game. It doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of X

I think part of it is that SO MUCH was put into the world itself. This game has detailed notes on everything. There is information on the behaviors of the creatures of Mira, there's environmental story telling, so many mysteries in all the planets ruins. Even most missions center around the planet itself and learning to survive ON MIRA. The game puts so much effort into Mira and made it feel so alive. The other games have this to some degree, but only X has a biography written for every single creature in the game easily available in the main menu. Many animals have actual personalities, and a lot are favorites among fans. I know they took genetic data from some species on Mira, which made me feel a bit better, but it's not enough.

Anyways I will be ignoring chapter 13 until I 100% this game.

I'm gonna go with kinda???? I voted yes, because it is very good in some aspects, really anything having to do with melia is good. She has good character design (not overly sexualized and makes sense to her character and the context of the story), plays an important part of the story (her actions have consequences on the plot, her story is treated like it matters, she doesn't exist for male characters motivation, has a crush on shulk but moves past it and this is NOT her main character development) she also has a unique play style that is interesting and is one of the better party members in the game.

When it comes to other female characters, like Sharla who is suffering from Xenoblade 2 levels of sexy character design, is the worst party member in gameplay (although this is subjective and it's because she's a medic in a game where support characters are useless past early game). And fiora whos existence is 70% motivation for shulk. I could go into this more but I don't really have the time to, you get the idea.

I still said yes because of melia, however I completely understand anyone who says no
