The people who think Jyn and Cassian had a platonic relationship crack me up. That relationship was intentionally written to be ambiguous. If that counts as platonic to you:

In my view, this is one of the most intimate and emotionally charged scenes in cinema ❤️

[ And damn, it feels far more truthful than a thousand kisses or a relationship that exists simply because the script tells us these two characters are in love. ]

{ The door creaked softly and Cassian stepped outside. The cool night air felt refreshing after the stuffy, crowded bar.

He took a deep breath and looked around. The street was fairly quiet, with only a small group gathered near the parking lot.

The first to catch his attention was a large man with an intentionally grim expression, sharply contrasting with the broad smile of the man beside him who leaned on a cane.

Not far from them was a guy, fragments of his rapid, rambling speech drifting toward Cassian. A dark-haired girl stood nearby, her hands on her hips. Despite her small stature, she seemed more than anyone else like the unspoken leader of this mismatched group.

Moving a little closer, Cassian stopped in the designated smoking area, pulled a slightly crumpled pack of cigarettes and a metal lighter from his windbreaker pocket. He flicked the flint wheel several times without success before a flame finally sparked to life. As he brought the flame to his cigarette, his gaze drifted back to the girl.

She was laughing. Apparently the talkative one had just said something funny.

Cassian let out a quiet snort and frowned slightly. But the next moment he froze as their eyes met. The smile still shone on her lips, only now her gaze was directed at him.

It lasted only a second, but it was enough for him to take a slightly nervous drag of his cigarette. Damn… It must be nice to be the reason for her smile.}
