Escape is also a word I would use to describe my space of Chico Stadium. The release of emotions and breath of fresh air and stress free. Though his spaces of spaces I would call a private space because it is his room were most people have their alone time. In his private space there is freedom and confinement, confined to his bedroom but also free to express as he please with out fear of judgement.

The word inviting to me means it is a public space in which anyone is welcome to come. I chuckled when I saw the word hip but I see the space as being young and an attraction for young people, probably college kids. The name of her place makes me think of a place a child would go, sweet, innocent, naive, which we all associate in our society as inviting.

I thought the word harmony was a unique word to describe a space, but I understand after reading the description of her space. A harmony not only with the variety of different roses  but also the variety in the colors of the different types of roses. I think harmony can also be found in the lines that define the space of the rose garden and the paths that separate the spaces in between the individual plots.

Freedom

My Chosen space Chic Stadium I believe it symbolizes freedom. In my space i feel as though i can breath, I feel a sense a clam, no matter what the current stressor in my life is.I feel at home here, like it my domain, this is were I am supposed to be. Another reason I believe my space is freedom is expression. I can always come to this place and express whatever I am feeling. Freedom is also in my Rugby team, we are a very open or accepting group of girls, welcoming all types of diversity. We are also free of judgement, we all feel comfortable being ourselves around our teammates, we do not have to hide who we are. We are also very competitive so are animalistic instincts and furosity come out, freeing any frustration we have while enjoying are teammates company. We may run through, around the lines or between the lines that defines the spaces within spaces of Chico Stadium but here I feel we are free express anything. Lastly the reason my chosen space Chico stadium is freedom, is after you play a game, finish practice, or finish a work out you feeling all those pent up emotions are released, like your free from whatever was weighing you down.

The Chico Stats library has many spaces with spaces. Generally, when we think of a library we think of a quite place to study and get homework done. This particular space within a space is the third floor, or the quiet floor. The Third Floor Space is a space wear people are expected to be quiet at all times and give a very emotionless vibe. In this space it is very strange to me because the outside word is so busy and noisy, but here it is eerily quite.

Her collage of photos it only certain parts of her space. It make me think that these are her favorite or most photogenic places of her space. I like how she captioned it as girly because all the photos of the her room points to a girls room. The mirror in her room reflecting her space making it seem bigger than it is or appearing more space within her space.

I can relate to this post. This is definition of a college student. School work always being the priority in any space we are able to focus. In order to get through many asleep less nights or very little hours of asleep we manage to get we need caffeine! Though we are supposed to buckle down in these spaces and focus we ingest a drug which makes us hyper just so we have enough energy to complete our work. This causes extreme stress and we repeat the cycle daily all for the goal of single piece of paper, a diploma.

My Space Through My Eyes (Ok, through my IPhone)

Unfortunately, while rock climbing (indoors or out) holding on with one hand and recording with the other isn’t permitted. My original idea was to do so but it’s slightly frown upon in a sport so regulated safety-wise. Therefor I had to walk around to show a glimpse of what life under the walls is like. The rock wall area is either quiet or extremely busy. On the particular night of the video is a slower and laid back night where a few people are either seen bouldering or top-roping their way to happiness. As climbers continue to reach for the next holds, music plays in the background to ensure a pleasant vibe is always at hand. Everyone that works at the rock wall carry themselves professionally, yet very friendly. As seen in the video, my friend Steph says hi in her usual energetic manner as she sees me walk by, much like the other workers or frequent climbers may. It’s an extremely comfortable area for friends and athletes alike to laugh, work out and to just have a great overall time. It’s open til 10 on weekdays and there’s no maximum limit to how long you can stay. The rock wall area is easily my home away from home.

This like this chosen space because it is not like the other chosen spaces, which typically is a someones room. This public space also inhabited by many people, like Steph. I like how in this public space it is filled with many emotions, colors, and even music playing in the background. What is found most fascinating is that it is a outside space being replicated in an inside space.

Room Walk Through

I started this video from my front door and walking all the way to my room. Once I get to my room I walk in and show each part of it. I have recently moved everything around so it isn’t the original space I started the semester with. It is amazing to me how much moving things around can change the space. Now I feel like I have more room and it is more open. When I walk in there is my closet to the right. To the left is my bed and TV. If you look straight ahead you can see my desk and my dresser. The lighting of my room has also changed because I moved my lamp around. I ended the video by walking out because it gave you the whole room and not just walking in.

I find it interesting how many of the students spaces are there chosen space. This also one of the few videos in which there is no narration unlike my video. I found interesting is that she starts her video in the space of the hall way, I wonder if she considers it part of her room. Maybe because of no narration it is because in her space is a silent space or she enjoys silence in her space?

Gosh, I Look Like a Drinker!

As I wandered through my room, I noticed I had a water bottle on my “vanity” as well as another three on my night stand for when I get thirsty. I have a shot glass collection on my TV stand/dresser and then another collection of empty liquor bottles on my book shelf. It seems as though I have a sense of repetition with water and alcohol. Maybe I’m just a drinker and those are the only two liquids to quench my thirst?

I enjoyed watching this video of her space and the things she notices while in her space. Not only that she is not only one inhabiting the private space of her room, her dog  is also a space in with a space. I also like how she pointed out her desk which is perceived as a homework space she uses as her vanity, she is changing what the space is used for.

Chico State Rose Garden: What is Love? Is it a risk?

The rose garden appears to me to be right in the center of the whole campus. Maybe the sole intentions of having the rose garden in the middle was to have students not get lost in this “gigantic campus.” Or maybe it was to tempt students to cut a rose and give it to their beloved sweetheart even if it meant getting a ticket. Risking their wallet for their beloved one.

I enjoy this map because the rose garden is not the whole map you have to look for the space. The space is geometric in design surrounded by a grid spaces. The Rose garden is also a space within a space and also this space is a public space. The Rose garden is rich with color and emotion.

Up California

The reason I chose this map was because I enjoyed looking at the shape, it has this weird backward California shape to it. The red box shows the general area of where my space is but I also chose the map of all of upper Bidwell park because it shows how to get to the red square, one is able to choose different paths and not have to walk the same boring path.

This is a a unique space, it encompasses a large chunk of land and thought its clearly defined on a map it also has hidden spaces with in this space that are not marked on this map. This map also in interesting the  fact that it defines your space and defines the empty space around it. The color of your map identifies spaces in spaces with in Upper Bidwell.

Oval is my home This is my chose space Chico Stadium. This is home for me. I feel at peace when I am here. I feel as though I am able to come to this space whenever and be able to clear my head and just think about whatever is on my mind. I have already memories here and I cannot wait to make more with friends and teammates while I'm here at Chico State.

Just a small section of what is hiding at the edge of the Plumas National Forest on the North-Western Slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Have you ever heard the saying…If you’re lucky enough to live at the lake then you’re lucky enough…? This has been my summer home for over 15 years and I have absolutely nothing to complain about! I can ride my horse to over 20 lakes in less than two hours. It is an amazing place and the only way to be able to take in all of what it has to offer is to visit it yourself and see it with your own eyes. A picture does not truly represent the beauty that is really there.

I really like this map of your space, very different than the rest of the maps people have posted. Unlike the rest of your maps yours has terrain, landscapes, bodies of water, land marks, trails, and a arrow pointing north showing direction. I also find your space interesting because it not a only a pace within a space but its a map of your space but a map around your space.

This is my space, Chico stadium from an Ariel view. I screen shot this view courtesy of Google Earth, as you can see the picture is a little dated. Notice the lack of green paths in the bottom left hand corner, that is what I can see i do not know of any other dated items maybe you all can find some. I like this picture of the Stadium because the natural light opens up the space and at the same time it casts dark shadows. It also is very linear with the lines around the track, horizontal lines from the bleachers and the lines that make up the game. The overall shape is oval with lines as a pattern compared to the squared off spaces surrounding it.

Second Floor Audio

In my audio recording there is almost no one talking the loudest things in the clip are people shuffling paper, closing/opening their backpacks, and the sounds of the doors from the stairwell and bathrooms. I like that it is quiet but not dead silent. You can cough without fear of disturbing everyone on the floor. The loudest thing in the video was at the end when the person behind me was packing up their belongings to leave. I went into the library originally planning to walk in and walk out but I got to my favorite seat and I sat down and ended up staying there for over an hour. It is so relaxing and the noise level is just right that I sit down and just lose track of time.

After hearing this recording it sounds like a school. The rustling of papers, books, and chairs being scraped across the carpet. At the same time there is a uniform silence, an agreed volume. Very easy for everybody to go about there business, sitting thinking about everything and anything. Also a good place to observe your surroundings watch the  people around you but make they do not catch you watching them.
