Very important post in case you are planning on playing WTTG3.

Tanner is going to sexually assault the player in WTTG3 and I can’t keep quiet about this. If you are planning on purchasing WTTG3 but you are sensitive to the depiction of SA, do not play the game. There is no warning beforehand that the player can be assaulted, there is no warning on the steam page. It happens in the motel room and the game doesn’t tell you Tanner can attack you in the motel room and the game doesn’t tell you either how to stop it. The Tanner DLCs are also a money grab

Insym just got the jumpscare and you can tell by his scream and the chat that he didn’t feel great about it. There is also a version of the jumpscare where you can get it while you are in the complete darkness. The old version of the jumpscare had the game over titled “Game over, Uh-oh!” but got changed to “Game over, Overdose” Almost like it was mocking the player for getting this animation.

I drew this a few months ago when I saw this outfit on the development streams, before all the drama happened. I was really proud of this one cuz I think I got Tanner’s likeliness on point

This whole situation still has me angry but i can’t say this outfit isn’t cute :( Hope you guys like it.

Though, a certain someone made me feel a little better. Daily reminder that this situation isn’t about Tanner as a character, it’s about Adam mishandling sensitive content. Tanner can be written however the devs like, it’s the way they do it that matters a lot.

There weren’t only 4 play testers. Adam banned everyone who spoke up about the animation or said anything about feeling uncomfortable by it, thus leaving only 4 people remaining.

Wttg fandom, please, do not let him silence us. Don’t let him silence the victims who shared how they felt uncomfortable with the animation. At the end of the day, this isn’t about Tanner. This is about Adam, his actions, his lack of respect for SA survivors and the overall topic of SA. He does not care for us. He does not care for you. If you sit back idly and do nothing, nothing will happen. We CAN do something about this. Do it for the victims who shared their pain but were met with disrespect.

This should not be a hot take but I am really, really curious to know why nobody ever talks about certain characters being canonically pedophiles, rapists, sex traffickers, etc… but whenever the debate of whether or not Tanner is a rapist, everyone starts to tweak out and just harass the fuck out of his fanbase?

Why is it that characters do not get criticized for being canonically what we fear Tanner is? For example, Lydia (The Nympho) is canonically a rapist, sex offender, erotophonophile and pedophile. The Dollmaker is canonically a rapist, sex offender and pedophile. The Kidnapper is canonically a sex trafficker. Why are not acknowledging and criticizing that? Why are we scrutinizing Tanner so much, trying to put the puzzle pieces together about whether or not Adam’s claims are true but not criticize canonical, uncensored perpetrators? If we are criticizing Luna x Tanner, why am I seeing such a rise in Elora x Lydia, if the fandom argues they’re allegedly the same harmful trope?

What people seem to misunderstand is, Tanner’s situation is still a DEBATE. That is why I’m begging you guys to just WAIT until WTTG3 because there is literally just a few days left and Tanner’s romance with Luna will NOT be left unexplained. The story WILL explain it. However, when it comes to other characters I mentioned, they are already canonically established to be what we fear Tanner is. It is not a debate. So why are they not being criticized? Why is it that whenever Tanner’s situation gets brought up, everyone despises his character for the allegations but not treat the other characters the same way?

okay! i reached day 10 today which was my goal before I posted about this. I needed to put my excitement for wttg3 into something, and I realized I hadn't drawn all but 2 of the canon reflect characters which was just kind of silly to me. Then the decision paralysis got me, so, I put the names of most of them on a wheel and spun to see who I drew each day! Still have 5 more characters to go until release day, but I figured I could post this now and then the rest when they're done.

I was trying to be as model accurate as I could manage (for most of them... side eyeing the masked people) so these look pretty different than my usual art. I really love how Lydia, Myra, Cletus and Clint came out. The rest look about as good as I expected them to for a first attempt, and that's okay ^_^ the whole point was to at least draw them once.

I'll post the last five when they're all done. No spoilers as to which five they are... but you could probably use process of elimination to figure it out lol

Adding onto my question, how would you feel if the opposite of your poll choice came true? It’s a tough poll question to ask but seeing that WTTG3 is almost out, anything could happen. I’d like to take note of the community’s statistics on the topic though, just to see how much the fandom believes or disproves of the idea one final time. Honestly who knows, maybe these statistics could come in handy later.

Hey srry but what was the “gynecologist incident”, I know Adam has some like backlash but I never heard of the incident, can you explain what it was?

If you weren’t there for the gynecologist incident, I’m honestly glad. It happened last year on halloween week and it was a complete disaster for Tanner fans. I did write an explanation under one of my post’s comment section so I’ll just copy and paste what I had written before:

I was the one who asked what Tanner's occupation was because it's been a debate in the fandom for a while. On stream, Adam obviously didn't answer at first until someone replied to me and said "a gynecologist" I was uncomfortable and I was like "hell no", Adam saw the message and laughed. He said "yeah! I like that one." Of course, everyone watching saw and heard what happened and it spread like wild fire. For several days, people were asking Adam to clarify what he meant by this, he would wordlessly ban them. It even got to the point where people were asking in his AMA whether or not this was true. Around 5 to 7 or so days later, the halloween stream came and Adam, doing damage control, finally revealed Tanner's occupation. But literally at what cost? So many people were uncomfortable and he LET people sit in that discomfort.

This is kinda it in a nutshell, the gynecologist situation was BAD. Very bad. It was literally around the time when people were dressed up as Tanner for halloween and were frantically asking Adam to clarify what he meant in the stream by saying he liked that message regarding Tanner being a gynecologist.

My 100th WTTG PSA of the day

I don’t think you guys should be drawing porn of Adam’s character considering that IS him. I stumbled upon guro of Adam and I never felt more disappointed and disgusted at my fandom. I really love you guys but I thought it was evidently clear why Adam is removing his character from the WTTG franchise. We are an incredibly small fandom and yet behavior like this I see a lot. Why are we doing this? Why are we taking a man’s name, face, likeness and putting it in an extremely weird situation? Not to stir drama but if this is you, I really do not think anyone wants to see that. 🫩

Idk about y'all, but when I first discovered WTTG2 I was fully expecting it to be a sort of "you became what you swore to destroy" type story

I think Ronald might be closest to the trope you’re thinking of! He starts off as a servant of the dark web, monitoring these hacked surveillance cameras and reporting back to his organization, but when given the choice he chooses even GREATER power—becoming Noir’s Game master. Funny thing is Ronald ended up joining and becoming Game Master because he was promised his crush, Alice, would end up noticing him, in game Adam guaranteed it. We then find out later that never actually happened. I think what makes his choice of becoming Game Master a little more loaded is the fact that Dead Signal’s environment establishes he has a family (based off all the pictures and mementos, he also seems to really miss them being in his life) and a baby daughter to be exact. He understands how it must feel to love and lose people but he’s more than ready to jump at the opportunity to kill people in his own crafted game. Sorry, I saw an opportunity to glaze Ronald and took it LMAO

I am tired of having this conversation but if you are worried about whether or not Tanner is a rapist because of Adam’s crude claims, i have one message for you and PLEASE listen to it.

Please wait until WTTG3 is out. There is barely 2 weeks left. Adam promised a while ago that Tanner will be getting lore in WTTG3 but it’s important to note that paired with Tanner’s decorated syringe and implications that he and Luna are together or have feelings for eachother, there WILL be an explanation. PLEASE wait until WTTG3 is out, just pause all this arguing and such until then. Because I promise you, the writers will not glaze over this and they WILL explain what happened and whether or not Tanner actually hurt Luna (based off Scrutinized’s events, he canonically did not but if you are worried he WILL, WTTG3 will disprove or prove it. Only time will tell. But what I’m trying to say is, just wait until then.)

In my opinion, Tanner is being retconned in real time, he’s clearly being a lot more affectionate and obsessive over Luna (based off the syringe) but I never believed Adam’s claims to start with. I just think Tanner is starting to lean more into lovey-dovey or western-yandere trope which ISN’T A BAD THING. I am a big fan of western-yandere tropes and honestly, this is the much better alternative than Adam’s weird claims that couldn’t even be backed up anyways. My trust is with the writers, not the loudest person in the room.

In all seriousness, yeah he is a pretty bad person especially towards the community. The contest situation, him starting rumors about his own characters (the gynecologist incident, for example), and during live streams, he’d act passive aggressive with viewers and get angry at them for asking normal questions. I don’t think anyone in this fandom likes him and, I especially don’t recommend getting any serious sources from the AMAs, just considering the fact that Adam isn’t actually a writer and can’t give facts about his characters without his ingame lore contradicting his words. Adam should not your source.

Speaking of Adam not being a writer, let me take this moment to clarify something that the fandom doesn’t seem to understand. Reflect Studios is not just one dude. I thought that was clear from the credits that roll after every game that show there are dozens of people on this project and Adam has explicitly said multiple times that he is not a writer and he has a team of writers. USUALLY 30 people on the team. It is REALLY REALLY important to me that you know Adam’s AMAs are not a valid way of getting your source material. Whatever the games try to portray is the canon, not Adam trying to be the loudest in the room. If the claims don’t match the character (cough, cough) and can be disapproved by the actual story, then Adam’s claims are just him trying to be edgy. It needed to be said.

Rant incoming

An angel violently has its wings dismembered whenever somebody calls Tanner a doctor or associates him with the medical field in any sort of way.

It is absolutely BAFFLING how many of you don’t know Elora is an actual pharmaceutical chemist and still somehow does not receive the same treatment as Tanner does when it comes to medical drug references in fanmade content. It is INCREDIBLY important to me that you all know Elora is MUCH more qualified in pharmaceuticals than Tanner is by an EXTREMELY long shot, as I have already explained when talking about Tanner’s minor in pharmaceuticals. I see many fanmade content of Tanner, referencing drugs and such, which is fine but it’s mind boggling to me that Elora does not receive the same treatment despite her being MORE qualified than he is and her story quite literally revolves around her specialty. The whole point of Rides With Strangers is that Elora is taking the highway through British Columbia (which is where WTTG1 and the Waiting Room take place) to go to her job interview to become a chemist to develop a treatment for the disease her mother (or was it grandmother?) has.

WHY is this not being acknowledged in fan content of Elora or Rides With Strangers?? Why must the man who has already been proven not to be an actual pharmacist, still be treated by the fandom as a pharmacist? Why not the ACTUAL pharmaceutical scientist be treated as one?? I have seen many fan made content of Elora gloss over the fact that she is highly intelligent, with a 4.0 GPA, has stronger endurance than the Kidnapper and more (due to the fact she can tuck and roll out of a fast moving vehicle and still be able to get right back up, MULTIPLE times if needed), INCREDIBLE instant socio-psychology adaptability, and much more, and yet, Tanner is proven to simply be LARPing most of what he claims to know/understand and the fandom simply goes along with it and ignores most of Elora’s unique personality.

Warning: very short blog post briefly talking about suggestive content/implications

Seen nobody talk about this but i’d like to point out Cletus’ tattoo and its location. I plan on making a full analysis post soon but I am writing this at 3 am so I’d like to just talk about his tattoo first before getting into the research i’ve done. The location of the tattoo is below the bellybutton and right on the groin. This location is popular amongst women as the “womb tattoo” trend.

Very quickly, you will notice it feels like there could be some sort of suggestive meaning behind it and you’re actually right! This a reference to oral s*x, more likely GIVING oral pl*asure rather than receiving. Of course, this is just what I concluded after doing some research on the location + design of the tattoo, so it’s really just up to you guys’ interpretation too.

The star on the tongue is a real tough one to solve, there are MANY possible meanings to the star. The most possible one would be that Cletus is actually rating his own… tongue skills because apparently, on the streets, stars are used to describe the quality of things. It could also mean Cletus is boasting about knowing the “sweet spot” and the star is sort of like a bulls eye indicator, how he hits it with precision every single time. It also be a reference to real gay lingo, a “Gold Star” refers to a gay man or lesbian who has never had a s*xual encounter with the opposite gender.

I’d like to know y’all’s thoughts on this. I gave a bit of a lazy review of the tattoo but it really is all up to your interpretation. This post was mostly made to just let everyone know about the tattoo existing lol
