We got a new puppy in the house. The girls have been asking for a dog the past few months and I finally pulled the trigger to get her from an adoption center. She flew from Korea so she is little bit tired in the morning/afternoon but she is adjusting to her new house very well.
My wife says that this will limit my time to go out to take photos. It’s ironic that my film cameras broke recently and I can’t go anywhere during Winter. Well. I can try to train her during this time and go to the park with her to take photos. She will be my photo models going forward!

I am having trouble with my Pentax K1000. I tried to buy used one on Amazon. But the ones I looked are not readily available. It’s been a long time I took my wife on a date. Today is a special day for many couples. I don’t want to disappoint her so I am doing what a gentleman should be doing - getting a flower, chocolate, and a card.

I love black & white photos. Something about no-color effect on photos make the subject more refined and polished.
What do you think? Do you use this feature a lot? With the film cameras, you can purchase black & white film rolls on Amazon. This is one of the reasons why I love using my film camera for black & white photography.
My collection
my two film camera collections. I love them so much. I use Canon most of the times, but Minolta is my favorite one. Some electronic components stopped working so I have to get it serviced. Do you know where I can get it fixed? It’s hard to find a good pace to get it repaired now these days.
I was walking around Best Buy without much plan (sometimes I do this as a stress relief mechanism) Whenever I have time to spend time for myself I like to walk around the mall or big retail stores so I can clear up my head. Today was one of those days. I was so frustrated with the things that happened this past weekend, I needed to cool off little bit. Best Buy had a few interesting items like this one. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9. You prob saw this instant camera or you were at a party where someone brought this camera and shared their photos at that time.
The camera is pretty good considering the price. It’s only $50. The thing about the instant camera is that you have to continue to purchase film rolls. They aren’t cheap. Similar to printers at home, sometimes cartridges can be more expensive than printer itself. I bought printers a few times because the ink cartridges were more expensive. (Sometimes printers have a brand new cartridge in the box when you get the printer) Still cheaper to get the printer + cartridge than just cartridge alone at a local retail store.
Anyway instant camera is a great camera to play when you are bored. This is a simple point-and-shoot camera but it’s super catchy and artsy to take photos with. Unlike smartphone cameras, you can print the films and share with your friends right away. (Although you can do that with the airdrop function on iPhones). I say buy the $50 instant camera. It’s a good looking camera with many features.
Driving this wet snowy type of condition isn’t good. This weekend I had an experience of driving 2+ hours in a snowy mountain. I was on my way home from a photography trip that I planned with several photography community guys. We took some nice shots with our analog cameras, but the weather was getting worse throughout the day. The day we went, it snowed a lot! The weather forecast stated that the snow was suppose to stop in the afternoon, but it kept going. We got scared and had to rush home. We really didn’t we were going to make it, but we did. Whew so glad we are home now.
Snowy Days.
It’s been awhile I posted something here. I am getting little lazy about my blog. I will try to be better with it.
Our area (Northeast) got some snow and the family was stuck at home. It gave me some opportunity to go outside and take some photos. I took the family to nice area. Here are some photos from the snowy days.
Kids had a great time since they had no school and played with us the entire time.
First one is our fireplace. I was putting fire all night. It kept the house warm. We were having a blast - drinking lots of soup, reading, and sharing our stories with each other. This is the best FAMILY time. No cellphone, no tech, just simply enjoying time with one another.
Then we went out and walked around a local park where we live. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Nobody was around and the park was filled with snow. Trees were covered with white snow that looked like a magazine.
It was a very sunny day the next morning so snow was melting immediately. I particularly like this photo because it has different contrasts in the image. As you can see on the top of the photo, that the sky is so clear (blue), and I was able to capture the tree shades in the middle. I used my old Canon AE1 camera and just simple regular Fujifilm Fujicolor 200 Speed 24 Exposure 35mm Film.
The next one is a beautiful shot and I am going to try to frame this one in my house.

New Year - new beginning
I’m really excited what’s stored for our family this year. 2019 will be a great year for everyone in the house.
To celebrate, we went to a local town shopping center, where they had a cool ice skating. It was really fun. Although wifey got sick :/

Back Up Film Cameras
I received a pop up ad from a Filmcameraexpert.com guy. In the Facebook website, he mentions that it’s not a bad idea to carry an extra film camera for filming sessions. I couldn’t agree more. There are times when my film camera just dies on me and I miss tons of great shots. I should get one back up camera soon.
