Short bit of a fic I’m writing!
Sneak Peak so not much to worn about!
Regina hated camping it was the worst thing ever. The buzzing flies all over her and her things. She doesn't know why she agreed to this. It doesn't help who she's with either. She of course came with the girls Gretchen, Karen, and Cady. What hundred percent doesn't help was that Damian and Janis tagged along. Everyone else was on good terms great even.
But for some reason Regina couldn't shake that feeling of Janis being there. Damian was somewhat better he got along with everyone but Janis was quiet and defensive. Snippy and witty. Janis stood out she always had. Now in this hot sticky night in the middle of god knows where they have to pretend to get along for the others sake. Regina sat on her camping chair that felt like shit but at least she wasn't on the ground.
Regina breathed in the soundings. The trees, the grass, mud. She turned her head and she looked out and saw Janis sitting on the ground. Back against Damian's folding chair.
She was the only one on the ground. While besides Karen who insisted using chairs "scares the worms" or what ever the fuck that meant.
Regina let out a sigh. Gretchen snapped her head to immediately look Regina's way.
"You okay Regina?" Gretchen said not being able to mind her business.
"Ya I'm fine." Regina replied clearly not being fine.
Regina focused on the fire zoning out on what ever everyone else was saying. The sleeping arrangements were already made 2 days ago in the daylight when they could pitch their tents. Gretchen and Karen were sharing the big tent. Damian was next to their tent in a single. He barely spent any time in his own tent because he spent his time in Gretchen and Karen's tent or in Janis's. Janis was also in her own tent right next to Damian. Unfortunately for Regina her own tent was right in the middle of Gretchen and Karen's shared tent and Janis's tent so ether way she had problems sleeping. Always distant sounds making her sleep schedule very off.
"Regina! Oh my god did you hear us?" Janis said snapping Regina out of her own thoughts.
"No. What do you want?" Regina said through a fake smile not wanting to hear her voice right now.
Janis scoffed rolling her eyes at her rudeness.
"We asked if you want to go swimming tomorrow?" Karen charmed in breaking the tension between the two girls.
"Sure." Regina muttered slightly less agitated to hear Karen's voice. She leaned back in her chair getting comfortable.
"Yay! I think the lake is a few minutes from here." Gretchen beamed.
"Holy shit I didn't know how late it was." Damian declared. He turned his phone to show his background photo of him and Janis with her hanging on his arm smiling. There was a crack near the bottom of the screen. The time shown was 1:36.
"Guess that is a signal that you want to head to bed?" Janis laughed throwing her head back against Damian's leg.
Regina couldn't help watching.
Regina blushed thanking god it was dark outside. She cleared her throat trying to get her thoughts out of her head. Heads turned to her. Staring at her now.
"Um ya I'm going to head to bed." Regina stuttered through her sentence.
The blonde got up from her chair as everyone said good night. Regina unzipped her tent and laid in her sleeping bag, having changed after they ate earlier. Her sleeping bag clanged to her. It was very uncomfortable but she was glad to at least have more than one pillow. She laid on her back feeling every blade of grass under her tarp of a
She heard people walking to their tents and praying Damian would just go to bed since it was already late. The campfire outside of her tent made her tent light up with an orange tint.
She was to to tired to find out what the rest of them were doing. Her eye lids became too heavy to keep open as she drifted off into sleep.
