As I looked into my fathers eyes for the first time in that rear view mirror I saw a sadness, a vulnerability. His eyes were reflective as if a tear was on the verge of falling, but he held it back as he continued to drive up the highway with the soft fuzzy noise of music in the background. It was the first time I had ever looked that closely; I saw a young man stuck in an automatonlike body that was unwanted. One that was capable of stripping away ambition and a future. I felt like I couldn't look for too long, like it was something I shouldn't see. As if I was looking into an unknown part of himself. But I could see what his medication was working so hard to conceal - Emotion. And as he looked back through the rear view mirror, I quickly looked away.

When you told me you can tell when i'm lying to you, my mind went racing through every conversation we had ever had. I could not recall a single time when I would have lied to you. But I can think of a thousand times when I would have lied to myself.

The truth is…   I don’t know if you think of me, I don’t know if you need me, I don’t know if you love me. The truth is… I think i’m scared that if I visit you, I will realise that you do think of me and that you do need me and that you do love me. And in that moment I will realise that I have let you down.

I met a free spirit. They were beautiful and enchanting and everything I've ever wanted to be. They opened up their heart and soul and let me dive straight in. They trusted me and I trusted them completely. We shared what would take me years to share with another. They saw how much I loved velvet and wanted to share their love for velvet with me too. They shared what they had with me. They introduced me to some beautiful souls. They transformed me into a glitter fairy. They had thought of a crystal they wanted to send me. They told me they could see me for who I am, and that I am getting there and that others can see that too. They were only with me for an hour. A free spirit is the most beautiful thing you will ever encounter. Free spirits leave a part of their spirit behind in the ones they love. You can feel it. Don't ever let your inner spirit go. Catch it and let it grow, until there's so much that you can share it too.
