ebiii, do u have any tips on designing an hsr oc? I just started designing mine (she's a halovian) and I have no clue what I'm doing 💔

idk if i have any proper tips because my process is kind of all over the place, but personally i start with an idea that id really like to see ingame/enjoy making, if that makes sense !!
all my ocs are very self indulgent; june is the way she is because shes my self-insert and i like rock music as well as a bunch of other stuff, syaoran is half-borisin because i think werewolves are cool, lucy is .... like that .... because i love pyschological horror and mysteries 🎉
i decide on a vague theme or concept i like a lot first and then a bunch of stuff branches out from there (´∀｀*) that way, im sure that ill always love drawing and making content about them 🩷🌸 hence the doodles above lol
for june specifically it was REALLY DIFFICULT for me to decide on her final design since shes from penacony, and all the penacony characters are from a bunch of different backgrounds with different elements– compare this to characters from the xianzhou, for example, who have a much more cohesive aesthetic. even subfactions inside the xianzhou have more subtle design motifs between them if you look, like xueyi and hanya being part of the ten lords commission and having similar color palettes for their clothes !!
penacony has characters from .... all across the cosmos Σ(＞□＜) so i had to pick more specific characters that june would have visual ties to so she would look more 'part of the world'
im surprised people havent commented it yet since i was sure i was being super blatant, but june's coat colors are half inverted from sunday's. this ties into their lore while also tying them together visually.
she also has the most similar color palette to acheron, since they're both self-annihilators touched by the shadow of the nihility d(^-^) (ignore boothill hes stinky)
for designing halovian characters in particular .... she's based off of a raven, the same way that sunday and robin are based off of doves plus the symbolism and etc.
before i started daily boothill i was actually thinking of making 'halovian weekly' where id try to design a different halovian character every week based off of a specific bird, so i recommend also trying to find a bird species youd like to include in the design ^^ 🩷🩷

This isn't exactly the same idea but it could be but there is more rattling around in here so:
The Blitz here manages to qualify as Britain's Darkest Hour, thus triggering the return of Arthur from the Realm Avalon.
He does not speak a lick of modern English. He speaks an unholy mishmash of Brittonic and Late Classical Latin.
(Honestly I can see the latter becoming a plot point if they manage to get their hands on a Roman Catholic priest to act as a translator. It wouldn't be a perfect arrangement, but probably better than anything else.)
Truthfully he probably gets mistaken for a madman.
Somehow manages to steal a Spitfire out from under the RAF's nose, proceeds to use it to bring down like half an enemy squadron on his own, then lands in a field in the middle of nowhere.
Police and RAF converge on his location on account of the whole "stealing a plane" thing. They eventually overwhelm him with sheer numbers, but he manages to knock out an impressive number of them in the process. I mean, come on. It's Arthur.
not nearly enough art of Q-Bee Darkstalkers leans into the canonical fact that she is a weird bug employing advanced mimicry and it bothers me. She needs to be doing weird bug things not whatever the latest horny artist meme is
i wasnt sure whether to start with her character stories or her design notes (which i have many more of on her toyhouse) but since her story is much longer i decided to go with design stuff first σ(￣∇￣;) bunch of text below cutt
i wont be going into deep symbolism yet since im saving it for her trivia and inspirations section, but i hope everyone enjoys reading since a few people have asked for more june lore <3
Design Notes
The flowers on June's halo are maybell flowers, Convallaria majalis. Other names for the flower are Our Lady's tears, Mary's tears, glovewort, and Apollinaris.
Sunday has two golden stud piercings on his left wing, while June has two silver stud piercings on her right wing, matching with one another and also marking them as opposites. They had their wings pierced together in a joint act of rebellion as children; only becoming estranged from one another later on in life.
The choice of silver rather than gold for June's piercings is a reference to the thirty pieces of silver Judas Iscariot was paid after he betrayed Christ with a kiss in Gethsemane, damning him to crucifixion and fulfilling His prediction.
June used to have six wings before the Nihility caused her wings to fall off the same way Acheron's red Oni horns no longer seem to be present after she becomes a Self-Annihilator. This is a reference to biblical Seraphim, six-winged angels that fly around the Throne of God, and how she ends up 'falling from heaven' since she loses two pairs of wings. Additionally, she specifically loses four wings, with the number four being associated with death from Japanese superstition.
June's eyes used to reflect every color of the Harmony, like a rainbow or an oilspill, before she became a Self-Annihilator. This is both a reference to biblical angels being incomprehensible to gaze upon and how birds see different colors thanks to UV light. (I haven't drawn her with her original eyes properly yet, but the Junehill fanchild actually ends up inheriting them!)
June has three belts. This is a minor reference to the fact that Xipe the Harmony has three faces.
Despite no longer believing in The Order or The Harmony, June still has various ornaments that symbolize the eyes of The Order on her clothes. The most obvious one is the ornament hanging from her necklace, situated over her heart. It is in relatively the same place as Sunday's eye ornament, which is in the middle of his chest on his black turtleneck.
The symbol on the patch of her jacket on the left side resembling an 'A' is the Circle-A anarchy symbol. This is supposed to be in line with the anarchist graffiti around Dreamflux Reef.
The color of Sunday and June's coats are inverted. The lines on June's coat also resemble thorns near the lapels, with Sunday's thorn motifs being much more prominent on his design.
The long sleeves of June's coat are detachable and re-attachable by zipper; the right sleeve is half-unzipped haphazardly.
Sunday has three hair tufts going down from the top of his head, June has two, and Robin has one. This wasn't intentional either, but I think it's very cute.
Sunday and June both have two thigh straps on the opposite legs respectively. June's is gold, attached to the bottom strap, and Sunday's is silver, attached to the top strap.
Both Sunday and June have full-hand gloves. Something, something, insert joke about protection during handholding here.
