Bolt parts: Daewoo K2 and AR-15 comparison. The bolts are similar in form, but none of the component pieces are a direct swap for one another except for the extractor’s pin. The actual extractor itself is shorter on the AR-15, but as the first image shows, you can install an AR-15 extractor on a Daewoo bolt in a pinch. Extraction and ejection still seem to work fine with it in function testing, but may not hold up as well in extended use.
The K2′s firing pin is longer than an AR-15′s, so not only can an AR-15′s not be used, but it cannot be re-shaped to fit the Daewoo either. Conversely, a K2 firing pin could likely be re-shaped to fit an AR-15, but that is obviously a total waste.
Also, note the lack of ejector on the Daewoo’s bolt. The K2′s ejector is fixed to the frame, so the bolt only has a gap there.
