kataang week day3:bridgerton au expect idk anything about the show

all i did was look up what era bridgerton fashion is for like 6 seconds and saw regency and decided i can rawdog this

it’s still a wip idk if i will ever finish it tbh… this thing was made in 3 hours with the sounds of babies crying as fuel in an airplane and i don’t like aangs pocket but like it was coloured in the last 1min and i didn’t think about any detail

avatar: the last airbender but make it more south & southeast asian ❤️

inspired by the preexisting but somewhat lesser known references to S&SEA culture in avatar’s worldbuilding, i wanted to showcase a few of the many outfits that originate from this diverse region that i’m proud to be from! i’m still no expert, but learning more and drawing this has made me so joyful and appreciative of our cultures 😌

Thank you so much!! I'm still working on it sadly!! I kept on sketching short comics of other shows, sketching is both a bless and a curse. Here's a sneak peek wip of the first panel <3 it's 4 panels long for now ;)

My art style looks a bit different here because its a lighting study! This one is very challenging and hard to draw but it was pretty fun to do and it only took me 3 hours!

In fact when comparing Aang's parenting to Ozai's and calling him a terrible father they also insist that Katara was absolutely ok with how "terribly" aang was treating her kids. And she must be absolutely supporting of this if she had 3 kids with him and age difference between 1st and 3rd child is almost 10 years. We know Katara well enough to understand she is not someone who gonna tolerate something she doesn't agree with. If Aang was a bad father and treating their kids awfully Katara would break up with him on the day one. She wouldn't be having kids with him again and again if it was the case.

So they have a choice: either they destroy Katara's character making her a terrible mother who gonna tolerate bad treatment towards her kids, or they have to admit that Aang was a good loving dad and that is what Katara liked in him besides everything else. Either one or another.

So in attempts to criticise Aang they just once again humiliate and ruin Katara. Not that was something new on their part tho.

Those anti-Aang posts are so stupid. The very worst interpretation of the LoK S2 take on Aang as a dad (a season already filled with a lot of questionable writing decisions), he shows some favoritism. It is nowhere near the level of abusing children, leaving children for dead when someone is trying to take over the world, raising children to be instruments of revenge, etc. The amount of dumb necessary to make these kinds of comparisons is really tough for me to fathom.

Yeah, it also completely disregards Katara, but then we know that the people who tend to go after Aang also really dislike Katara too. They frequently claim to like her, but then completely warp/disregard her character, demonstrating they really don't.
