✿Jill looked up at the sky through the small shed window. "Well this is extremely sudden. And heavy rain. I hope that means it will clear up soon, too," Jill mumbled, wringing out the water from her shirt before it got too cold.
OH MY GOD, ROCK, NOOOOOOOOOO
{{Ok, so right now I am in the Winter of year 1 in Hm:AnWl and I finally made it to the end of the season, where in the next morning of Spring 1 the bachelor with the most hearts for you would come and propose (I like the scenes of the bachelors proposing to you more than you proposing to them- they're super sweet) So I've been working super hard at giving gifts to Marlin and Gustafa thinking that one of them would be the one to show up that morning and propose (I like them both so it doesn't matter which one), but WHO shows up instead?
ROCK. Talking something about me being his Juliet and how we're meant to be together.
DUDE, I've only given you like 4 gifts at the beginning of the game so I could unlock all of your scenes. HOW THE HECK DO YOU HAVE MORE AFFECTION POINTS FOR ME FROM 4 GIFTS THAN MARLIN/GUSTAFA DO FROM AN ENTIRE GAME OF GIFT-GIVING?!
Thank God I saved the file a few days before the end so I can go back and lower his affection points. Your princess is in another castle, brah.}}

Are you pregnant?
✿”W-what makes you say that?” Jill asks, almost a little too nervously.
"Well, it’s the craziest thing. For some reason, those weird twins down at that treehouse thing they live in are spreading rumors and saying that… No one really believes them, and I don’t either… But I couldn’t think how else to ask. I just wonder where they got the idea," she shrugged.
"Even if you were, I don’t judge."
✿ Jill’s face fell at the news of the rumor, “Well…I’m engaged to be married, so maybe they think it’s a shotgun wedding,” Jill tried to say with a chuckle, but fell flat.
"You’re engaged?!" she squawked. Jumping up to her friend, she balled her fists to her chest in excitement. "To who?! Tell me all about him!"
✿Ah. The dreaded question. “Ahem. Um…I’m actually engaged to three different men… Don’t give me that look, Angela,” Jill said, pouting at Angela’s expression at the admitance.
"It’s not by my choice. Takakura says I have to be married to one of them by the end of the year to continue on with the farm," Jill explains, figiting with her hands. The news sounded bad, and Jill didn’t like it any better either. Not that she disliked any of her fiancées…well, except maybe Rock. It was just the thought of being forced to marry that made her upset.
Angela’s brow screwed up. “What the hell? Jill, honey, I’m pretty sure that’s gotta be illegal. Or something. You can’t just force some girl you’re not even related to to get married…”
She huffed, leaning against the fence. “What does being married have to do with owning a farm, anyway? Does he expect your husband to work with you?” A cow mooed in the distance, and Angela clenched her teeth.
"The more I hear about this ‘Takakura’, the less I like him…"
✿ Jill pouted at Angela's words. "Takakura isn't a bad person, Angela. He's only having me do it so I can have help on the farm when he goes," Jill said, starting to tear up at the thought of her dear mentor dying. "It's an odd way of looking out for me, but I understand why he does it. It could be worse. My fiancée's are nice people, at least," Jill said with a chuckle while patting her eyes dry with the wrist of her glove.
"So yeah, I'll be alright. Even with this stupid rumor going around, it won't phase me. Though, I worried about who they think the father is...," Jill mused to herself, thinking about the three men. Rock would probably just laugh it off, already very vocal about not wanting kids. Gustafa would probably just smile at the rumor. But Marlin...she was afraid if that news ever got to him. Oh god, what if they were saying it was one of the older bachelors like Carter or Griffen? Jill grimaced at this thought process, not out of disgust but dismay.

utterly-angela-hm replied to your post:► I've heard that Daryl is oddly into cows, why don't you take him- by force if you have to, dress him in a cow suit, and have him spend the day as a cow. Don't respond to any words he says, act as if you've heard a moo, and I'm sure enjoying the finest fodder will give him plenty of insight on cow life.

"What is your relationship status?"
✿"Oh, I'm engaged."
"Congratulations! To whom?"
✿"... to three different men in my Valley...by my father's friend's demand..."
► Hey, you know that old man who works at the dig site in the Valley? I dare you to ask him out!!
✿ Jill exploded into a violent blush at Angela’s dare. “C-Carter? But… it wouldn’t be right to do that to him on a dare!” Jill said, knowing well that Angela was already ready with a retort to make her do it. She had promised the fellow farmer to do anything she requested, after all. She leaned back against her fence and then glanced back up at Angela. “Alright, but you’re coming with me,” Jill said, dragging Angela by her arm through the Valley towards the waterfall.
When they reached the digsite, Carter was outside taking in the sun’s rays like he did every morning before a dig. He noticed the two farmer girls approached and gave a hearty laugh at Jill’s flushed expression.
"Girls. What seems to be the problem today?" Carter asked, placing his hands on his hips and looking at the two of them exprectantly.
"Well, Carter….Angela wanted me to ask you out for her!" Jill yelled, then ran off back to her farm.
Angela stood still as a statue, while Carter looked on, puzzled.
"Ask me out?" he repeated. "Now what’s all this about?"
Talk about a rock and a hard place. If Angela were to tell him it was all a joke, wouldn’t that make him feel bad? Come to think of it, he was an older bachelor… To know that the thought of a relationship with him would be reduced to something done for kicks would probably make him really self-conscious— and he was such a nice man, too.
"Um, uhhh… Well…" she stuttered.
Maybe she could just go ahead and ask him out after all? It was just one date, and he was a pretty interesting person intellectually. Hm, maybe she could make this work in her favor. Jill would get her due later, though.
"Oh, Jill’s just a bit confused. Well, I suppose you could call it a "date", if you really wanted to, but that’s not quite what I was going for. Don’t get me wrong, here!" she explained. Carter, ever patient, waited for her to continue. She thanked her lucky stars he was so unassuming.
"It’s just, I was thinking you’ve probably been so many places in the world, and seen so many things… I’m kind of curious about what your life and work’s been about, ya see. So I was wondering if maybe you’d like to catch lunch sometime? I’d love to hear about some of your adventures!" At the offer, Carter brightened immediately. There probably weren’t many people who were interested in his line of work. Which was a shame, as Jill had often told her of the neat things she’d found there when she dug.
"I only wanted Jill to come with me to ask because, well, I get shy about this sort of thing sometimes. I’ve never done something like have an adult lunch with colleagues or anything, so I wasn’t quite sure how to ask… But it seems Jill got the wrong idea," she breezed. Sure, her parents always told her not to lie, but it was okay for stuff like this, right? Plus, having lunch with Carter was sounding nicer and nicer the more she thought about it!
"And of course, I’d love it if Flora could come too!" she added as an afterthought.
They talked on for a few more minutes, Flora jumping in when she wandered over, and before Angela knew it they’d planned the date and everything. Apparently, Tim and Ruby’s Inn made amazing food, and Angela couldn’t wait to try it. She grinned and shook her head as she walked away from the dig site.
Thinking of a proper punishment for Jill’s little stunt was going to be a lot of fun.
✿ Back at her farm, Jill is bent over her fence, trying to regain control of her breathing; partially out of exhaustion and partially out of embarrassment. She felt bad for doing that to Angela. She really did. But when pressed, Jill was not the type to back down easily and could even press back; though she did chicken out a little bit. She was never good when it came to dealing with dating and romance.
Jill wondered how Carter would handle whatever Angela had thrown at him. She had no doubt Angela could get herself out of that situation, but what would Carter do from there? Would be able to handle the lively farmer and her plots?
Jill let the guilt settle in her stomach. She really did care for the archeologist- he was a dear friend. Not to mention that he was intelligent and funny, and carried a certain depth to him that was rare to find in others. Would she had agreed to go on a date with him if he had asked? Probably. But not by these means. It wasn't right. She promised herself to go see him tomorrow and explain, and then help him with his dig site.
With a heavy sigh, she moved to get back to her own work, already running behind on her chores.
i didnt get the marlin 3 heart event do you like fishing thing and how its dirty.. please explain?
{{So, it doesn’t necessarily have to be dirty, but it is something along those lines; at least to deal with an attraction sense. So in the event Marlin is talking about how he “felt like a fish out of water”- setting up the comparison with him and a fish. After that, he asks Jill if she likes to go fishing (keep remembering that he thinks of himself like a fish). The resulting embarrassment he shows when she says ‘yes’ is due to the idea/image Marlin gets in his head that she will wrangle him in like a fisherman wrangles in a fish. So, he's feeling like a fish waiting to be lured in by the fisherman Jill, essentially. That's the hidden message behind this heart event.}}

✿ Jill leaned back against the fence and looked out at the Island with him. “I think I understand how you feel, about being more attracted to one place over another. I used to live in the city before I took over my father’s farm, and things were always so fast paced: hustle-and-bustle, no time to rest, one thing to the next. You almost have to live life by a certain code, to be accepted and just to get by in that world,” she rambled on, then looking back over at Vaughn and smiling.
"I like my life in the Valley a lot more. I never imagined myself becoming a farmer growing up, but now that I’m here I love it, I wouldn’t change a thing. I guess you just have to do what makes you happy," she laughed then grew quiet. "Erm, sorry if I’m pestering you any," she says meekly, fidgeting her hands under his gaze.
He gave her a nod and a gruff noise of agreement. He did understand that, know what it felt like to be on the outside of that code. But he had forced himself on the outskirts, pushed away every last person until the only one he had left was his brother.
His heart plummeted at the thought of that. Of going months without knowing where the man was until he got the phone call…
No, he was still alive. He wouldn’t have done… that to himself. He couldn’t have.
"Fer some reason I’m usually a big tall talkin’ post." His voice was still slightly aloof, although it had almost softened in the presence of Jill. Everything about his had softened in the presence of Jill. He hadn’t even yelled or insulted her yet - this may have just been the longest conversation he’s had where he hasn’t offended someone or gotten yelled at by his Aunt for being rude. "Used t’ it."
✿ Jill smiled up at the man. "Well, if there is something you would like to talk about, I'm all ears!" Jill offered, leaning back against the fence in a prompt for him to pick a topic. She liked talking to this man. She felt a lot more comfortable around him now, and started to realize what a good person he was. Here she was, a complete stranger, yet he was standing here with her- helping her with her cow and keeping her company until the medicine kicked in. It made her happy. She was glad he was here with her.
► I've heard that Daryl is oddly into cows, why don't you take him- by force if you have to, dress him in a cow suit, and have him spend the day as a cow. Don't respond to any words he says, act as if you've heard a moo, and I'm sure enjoying the finest fodder will give him plenty of insight on cow life.
✿ Daryl was a scientist. His life was lived by the scientific method and principals- observations, experiments, analyses, and data. He ran many man experiments in his years to gain all the knowledge and experience he has under his withered boots now, and Jill decided to take a cue from her friend and run an experiment of her own.
Daryl was in Forget-Me-Not-Valley to run experiments on energy. Creating, maintaining, using energy for the Valley. And Daryl had taken quite a shine to Jill’s cows when she started running her farm in the Valley (something about ‘global warming’ and a ‘persona vendetta’). He was at her farm every afternoon at 5:00pm, observing, hypothesizing about her cows. How long would it be before he moved to the next step of running experiments on them? That could not happen. It had to stop before it got that far. It was time for him to learn a new lesson.
She waited for him. Admittedly, she baited him in a bit- with making him dinner and promising to tell him anything he wanted to know about her farm, but once she had him where she wanted him, she wrangled him in- like a cow.
She was there when he woke from his sleep, his cow suit slightly wrinkled from his sleep and freshly filled feedbox placed out in front of him. Sure, he was shocked and tried to fight it and screamed at her till veins popped from his head, but Jill didn’t listen. Cows couldn’t talk anyway. She went about her chores around the farm, hearing his cries from inside the barn. When would he learn? What scientist wouldn’t be reveling in the experience she was giving him? She was really doing this for his own good. After all, animals were friends, too.
She went out into town to do some shopping that afternoon. No one even mentioned the scientist, no one even noticed he was gone. That saddened Jill’s heart a little. But she knew where he was- safe and sound- so that put a sweet smile on her lips.
When she arrived back at the barn, Daryl was on the ground, the other cattle sitting around him. They have accepted him into their own, but would he be ready to accept them? She approached slowly, his horse voice pleading softly as she stood before him. Her poor little calf. She knew what to do to make him cheer up. After all, all cows loved to be washed.
She got the water bucket and soap over, lathering the brush with the sudsy liquid and gently running it over the little cow. Oh sure, he struggled at first, but no one could resist the loving touches and pampering a farmer giver to her livestock. She hummed him a little melody as she worked, and soon he was leaning into her touch. Good. Looks like she will be feeding him some good fodder tonight as a treat.
The skies grew dark, and she told all of her animals to get some rest and to go to their respected places. She saw the hesitation on Daryl’s face before he sheepishly moved into his spot and curled up to go to sleep. That was mama’s good little cow.
