OVERVIEW.

Rose is a ward of the foster care system. She has no recollection of who her birth parents were and she’s not in a rush to find out about her true biological lineage. 

As of a result of being in the foster care system from a young age, she harbored a co-dependency pretty quickly to fosters who treated her like they would keep her forever only to feel the harsh abandonment when she was thrust back into the system. 

That changed when she fell into the Manning household, the fosters who would become her forever family. This same household would be one that she shared with her foster brother and resident art curator @johnbernsteinx (he means everything to her and she will gut the person who ever harms him. 

She was a little rough around the edges growing up but as she grew to learn patience, was properly nurtured, and found her niches’, she blossomed from middle school on. 

She did not take the conventional route of going to four year university and opted to go to community college to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. 

She is a sucker for true crime and spends hours on end immersing herself into the grittier details that most cannot stomach. As a result of her morbid curiosity, she’s garnered night terrors especially if she reads a case that has gone cold/unsolved. 

She is a vibrant force in a room, knows how to use her doe eyes to her advantage and she tries her best to radiate energy that doesn’t mean she wants to pounce on a person (but sadly she probably does)

Rose is not one for commitment and can easily be seen swiping through Tinder or Hinge on her free time. 

Because she’s not as conventional and constantly on the go, as much as she would love to have a furry companion she has instead fallen for reptilians and has an iguana named Scampers.

Ride Or Die [0/1]: This person is Rose’s lifeline, her rock, the person who comes a close second to John’s #1 slot in her life. Just as she would drop everything for this person she anticipates and expects the same energy from this person. They also know far too much about her for her to feel comfortable with letting them be without her.

Tinder Flings/Hookups: The first mistake this person made was matching with Rose. She’s not a conventional date but she is sure to be a spark that doesn’t falter from start to finish. 

Work Buddies: Rose works as a history teacher at Crescent Harbor Prep and is working on being a TA at Crescent Harbor College. Her major study is history though she often finds herself co-mingling in other departments out of force of habit. If they need a copy of a syllabus she’s got her hands all over it, an extra hall pass, she’s made multiple copies, a firm tone to speak up to the Dean? She’s the woman to call on. 

True Crime Enthusiasts: Rose is always open to expanding her circle on those who adore True Crime as much as she does considering she’s hoping to make it one day her entire life’s work. From research to guest speaking on podcasts, if there’s a theory to be perceived she’ll talk for hours.

Fei smiled at the Fleetwood Mac album, a sudden pang of nostalgia hitting her. “My dad wanted to name me Stevie, but my mom threatened to leave him if he did,” she smirked. Her mom had ended up leaving anyway, of course, but that part wasn’t as cute of a story. “Thank you, but I wouldn’t blame you for judging me. Record stores are inherently judgy spaces, I’ve found. Of all the things people are snobby about, music is one of the biggest. Mostly because you can be dirt poor and still a music snob,” she smiled, shaking her head. 

“Oh, absolutely, they’re over here,” she said, leading her new nameless friend toward the indie rock section. “I had a phase of listening to nothing but Oh Comely. I don’t know what I was going through in 2015, but it was something, apparently.” She laughed at the nose-pinching cringe, and nodded. “I can only assume. How those two genres mix, I don’t know. Do they have somewhere we can listen to it, because I’m genuinely curious,” she said, looking over the woman’s shoulder for one of those little headphones stations. “Oh god, I’m Fei, by the way, did I even say?”

Fei certainly was wrong about the standards of etiquette within the record shop. If it weren’t a small business, she would have found herself carousing through the electronics aisle in Target and probably still would have ran into a group of people who didn’t understand why Taylor Swift kept putting out album after album. “Have you ever had to battle a person about why they might have internalized misogyny if the only statement they get out of Taylor Swift’s music is merely her getting revenge over a man?” Rose posed the question, lips curling up in amusement. Eyes glanced over at the headphone station and she glanced at the album in question. Her mind was racing, wanting to know what was within the contents. “Shall we check it out, Fei?” Rose said as she quickly turned on her heels towards the headphones, not before flashing her a smile and waving her introduction. “I’m Rose, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” 

Once they situated in front of the headphones, Rose looked carefully through the catalog and pressed the unit that looked similar to the album art. “Tell me what you think?” Rose asked as she passed it off to the woman. “And if it’s super incredible, make a pact with me that we’ll quit whatever our day jobs are and start this up as a duo.”

“Fuck off, Curtis.” Billie scoffed towards her manager, turning back to the bar as she giggled out an intoxicated breath. Bad habits died hard. The young woman existed in a much better place than she did years ago, barely surviving in L.A. She didn’t retreat to her bed for days in depressive episodes every time life knocked her on her ass. Billie tempted fate, drowning this weeks bad luck in tequila shots, while on the job. Her birthday loomed - now only weeks away. Her mother hadn’t spoken to her since coming to her door for money. Anna was now lodging in the Blackwood’s mansion. She wasn’t a girl struggling to exist, but she was still a brooding mess who hated most people and most things on the daily. “Can I get you something?” She raised a brow. “We have beer that tastes like piss and vodka that tastes like rubbing alcohol.” She giggled softly.

Intensive research and hours of audio that Rose wished she could unhear was stacked squarely in the center of her mind. It was much too late to contact John to try to assuage her self-imposed trauma, so the next best thing she found was finding herself in a bar that wasn’t going to judge her for not popping in with some type of chauffeur or a fancy UberX. Fear Knot had steadily been, for lack of a better term, Rose’s drinking hole, where she found choose to drown her invasive thoughts and bone chilling imagery down some kind of mental drain in her mind. The case she had been helping out with had been a bit more than she could bite, and she had to curse her colleague for not warning her that there were just some details that she could have been saved from knowing. She found herself sat at the bar, her fists clenched. That was when she heard the woman asking her what she could serve her, and she couldn’t help but offer her a faint smile. “I’ll pass on the piss but rubbing alcohol sounds great right about now,” She bantered playfully. “Two shots if possible.”

Julia gave a soft laugh. “That’s true,” she said. “It’s a bit much.” She liked musical theater quite a lot, and she knew Les Mis was a classic, but it dig drag on for quite a while. “Have you read the book? I had to read it in uni and I thought it was never going to end. There were so many pages about the Parisian sewer system!” She smiled. “Oh, I don’t mind!” she said. “I love hearing people talk about things that excite them. It’s so sweet. And I can always learn new things that way, that’s nice!”

She smiled. “It has more to do with what I’m baking,” she said. “Something light and fluffy like a choux pastry is classical music. But something rich like a German chocolate cake, say, that’s more rock music.”

Rose tried to wrack her memory about whether or not that book ever fell in her studies or if she read it for leisure. “Gonna be honest I can’t recall reading it for a course, but I also don’t remember much about the Parisian sewer system either, I might be a little rusty on that.” She replied with a laugh. “How does the piece itself go on about a prisoner who needed bread and then deep dives into a war with a dash of sewer labyrinths?” She appreciated the woman’s understanding, especially as Rose felt she was babbling on. “Well, I take a lot of pride in it being what I wanted to dedicate my life to, especially to help spread to the masses, or well the youth I guess. I’m starting a job at Crescent Prep pretty soon and I might make them learn about this sewer system.” She quipped. 

She stopped in her tracks the moment she had mentioned choux pastry and german chocolate cake. “You can make those from scratch?” It all sounded far too good and now she was suddenly in need. “I’m gonna need to try it some day.”

Leslie lost count of how many times she’d been to the record shop over the past year, though she couldn’t tell anyone why. She didn’t even own a fucking record player until a month or so ago, and even after breaking down and buying one it stayed in the box. She’d never bought anything, just looked, judged the collection, and wasted her time. Story of her fucking life, she supposed, but at least it kept her entertained.

A familiar eyeball made her stop flipping idly through the records and she froze for a moment. After a beat, she realized it was stupid to have a reaction like that to an album cover, and she pulled the cardboard cover out of it’s slot quickly. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she flipped the record over in her hands and – yes. The print quality was garbage – she could see the individual pixels, and the colors were muddy – but that meant that this was a first print. It wasn’t valuable. Not monetarily, at least, but it threw her the fuck off that it would be in Crescent Harbor. She hardly noticed when someone bumped into her, but the question made her look up, her expression incredulous.

“Any good?” she repeated. “It’s the Bad Brains. Of course it’s good.” Her eyes went back to the record and she knew she should stop there – the conversation was, effectively, over – but she kept talking anyway. “These dudes walked so The Clash could fucking run, and even still – could out run them any day. This is, like, a really cool record. I can’t believe it’s fucking here, what the fuck.” Her eyes went to the other woman’s record, as if she had found something else like a signed print of Rocket to Russia. Her brows furrowed. “What’s that?”

Rose stood in her place, a decent couple of feet away from the blonde as she harped on about what apparently was a Bad Brain’s album. It was easy for her to recall The Clash, as they were more up to speed in Rose’s immediate knowledge but she felt like she stepping into some unknown territory, or technically underground. But would it be considered underground if they were the stepping stone for a band as iconic as The Clash. 

She noted the album cover was a little worn and torn, but from the way she seemed to talk about it, Rose couldn’t help but wonder if she had struck on some type of gold in the middle of Crescent Harbor. “Ah-” She managed, “I’m guessing that’s some type of collectors edition then?” She peered over at the section seeing more records from the same band, “The covers are definitely a choice, aren’t they?” 

As the question reverted back to her, Rose held up her record and shrugged. “I literally just shut my eyes and chose an album hoping it would help me not to be as biased. I also just wanted to stop pulling out random Bowie records, I already have too many to count.” She admitted.

“I – am not sure but I feel like I would’ve remembered you telling me that?!” John pointed out with his brows pulling together. Maybe it went right over his head, maybe he’d played it off as a joke but clearly that hadn’t been the case. He snorted, shaking his head. “Right…my god,” he said under a breathless laugh. It wasn’t like he had a problem with the reptile, he’d just expected something fluffy instead. “What a life to lead. I never would’ve thought I’d be jealous of an animal,” the man joked, chuckling as he watched Rose fuzz over Merlot who’s tail only started wagging more and more with how happy he was to see his aunt.

His lips twitched with amusement at Rose’s words. He knew he could get a little dramatic but who knew this better than his own sister. Rose must’ve been used to it by now and John gave a harmless roll of his eyes. “I highly doubt it but since I’m also not one for botox for myself, I’ll just have to go with the flow,” he joked further, shaking his head at her with a grin. “You might’ve caught me there, though…I did travel around quite a bit after all, remember?” John happily accepted the juice, a small but thoughtful gesture that made him grin back at her before raising it towards her and taking a sip. It felt good to have her in town with him – they’d always remained close but being close physically, too, was a treat. His eyes followed her glance and he chuckled, leaning in teasingly. “I think we can definitely work something out,” he told her genuinely. “Just come by and we can take a look around,” John offered before his eyebrows raised almost immediately and he shot her a look as if to make sure she heard herself. “Oh, so when we move you’d just like our new neighbors to think we’re perverts? Amazing, Rose – truly,” John exaggerated with a snort, shaking his head as he took another sip of his own drink, eyes widening. “What kind of package are we talking…? And what size?”

She nearly choked on her drink as John described trying to go with the flow for things. “Not to be that person, but has that sentiment really been working these days?” She held her hand up to demonstrate very little distance between her thumb and her pointer finger. “Maybe by this much you’ve known some type of peace, but thankfully it hasn’t given you wrinkles in your forehead or crows feet.” She commented before she canted her head to the side. “I know you said you didn’t want to get too into it while I was overseas, but now that I’m here you know you can tell me and unload right?” She asked. Of course she knew that John and her had a code of conduct for relentlessly gossiping and venting as need be, but from the sound of it before she didn’t know if John was at his breaking point or just teetering along a very thin line. 

Delighted to know that he could squeeze her in for some art viewing, she held up a pointer finger, “Just to let you know my budget though, it’s ...very non-existent. At least until I can get my expenses in order and in the proper coinage.” The currency dilemma was one that Rose needed to get a better handle on. She had pesos, she had euros, and for some reason an ungodly amount of pennies. The satchel that held them happened to be on the kitchen counter and she tossed it to her brother. “What do you think that’ll get me?” She joked. Then she slyly grinned over at the man, noting how his brows raised at her notion that her favorite form of torment would be escalating. “Why would they think that? Unless you move that eggplant chair without a cover, then that’s on you.” She said as she gently tapped him on the shoulder. “Does it not fall under avant garde?” As John asked about the type of packages and the sizes, that was what did her in. “They vary, but if you’re really careful with them, they’re wonderful all the same.”

He watched as the dogs greeted Rose happily, the both of them happy to see a familiar face. A smile crept over his face as he watched the three interact. But when Rose quipped back, it pulled a playful roll of his eyes, and a laugh from him. “No reasons needed, no. But, dumbo-in-law? That’s the best bullying you’ve got for me? You’ve lost your touch, Rose.” He didn’t exactly want to stray from the lighter side of their conversations, but he knew that John talked to her about a lot. He didn’t know what was said, especially recently but there’d been one thing after another, it was easy to figure she at least knew something. He didn’t want to touch on it, or be the one to bring any of it up. He was happy to deal with it in limited company, John and himself as tightly as they could keep it. 

At the mention of packages coming, he groaned. “More gifts?” he asked, taking a drag from his cigarette. He let out a stream of smoke out on a long breath, his eyes moving back to watch the dogs as they went back out to play in the grass. “I’ll be honest, I haven’t exactly gotten through the last few gifts you gave me,” he said, finally meeting her eyes. “What kind of packages should I be expecting this time around?” 

Rose smirked at his remark, “Trust me I’m just a little off my game because of the jet lag. Give me two business days though and I’ll be in tip-top shape. If you want a bully, I’ll be one to you.” She said nonchalantly. “Though I don’t know where I’m gonna get a locker that’ll fit your football stadium frame, that’s gonna cost you just for sheer inconvenience.” The way Quinn blew out the smoke from his mouth, Rose couldn’t help but notice a slight tick, almost like he was waiting for a big blow coming from her that wasn’t just a joke. Was there reasons for her to reprimand him? Absolutely, but her heart-to-hearts with John were strictly protected under their sibling code of ethics. Not that it worked all of the time with Rose, but with this scenario, she knew it was delicate, and she couldn’t help but feel that no matter what she had to say about it, it couldn’t have been even a tenth of how shitty Quinn might have felt about it himself. 

“Do I look like the type to beat someone down while they’re still down?” She asked innocently, her verbal truce that she had nothing to say for now, but later on? If the opportunity came, she knew she’d give him a good wallop. As the conversation shifted to her gifts, she had to give him a pout before she attempted to shove Quinn, her strength barely getting him to move a step. She desperately needed to get to the gym. “Are they in the apartment because I’d love to go through it with you, I sent mugs, magnets, you know, really wholesome things.”

Grace nodded and sipped at the drink she’d ordered, just out of habit and mostly trying to look natural, if anything. She’d been in this situation before, countless times; on both sides of it, actually. She knew what her new acquaintance was going through. As the date sauntered over, Grace couldn’t help but bury her face in her beverage, she was not about to laugh in the poor person’s face, especially with what Rose had already muttered to her about them. She saw the almost peck as it happened in slow motion and she almost choked, she had to turn away before she chewed her lip and watched the date leave, shoulders slumped in defeat. Grace slammed her glass down on the bartop and shook her head, “Oh my fucking God! What the hell was that?!” She laughed and gestured the bartender, “You look like you could use a drink, what do you want?”

Rose felt like she could have just burst into flames at that moment from the severity of her embarrassment alone. She opted instead to say, “Wine, I don’t care what kind of wine just make it strong as hell.” She lamented as she buried her face in her hands, her cheeks getting rosier. When she was sure the date was absolutely out of complete range, she faced the woman and said, “Honestly I should have known it was too good to be true when the hobbies section in their profile just said ‘anything and everything, I’m always up for a fun time not a long time.’ God, just end my misery.” She stuck her tongue out at the idea. “I’ve just never had to sit through someone being so into themselves over...nothing!” As soon as the cool glass of wine was in her hand, she raised it to the blonde. “To you, my savior of the evening.”

“4/4 is a time signature,” he rolled his eyes. Wasn’t music a class in most elementary schools? “If you listened to Ariana Grande and then listened to a classic waltz, you’d realize that the waltz moves faster because it’s in ¾, ala, a different time signature,” Declan wasn’t sure why he continued to harp on math-rock, perhaps it was because he was bored or because music was near and dear to his heart. It was his goddamn livelihood! “I understand if it’s too advanced for you, again, it’s not radio music.”

Rose eyed the man closely, every single word that came out of his mouth just sounded like the drone of what the adults sounded like in Charlie Brown. Still she attempted to feign a soft smile at his impromptu music lesson. “I barely passed the three-blind-mice recorder challenge in primary school so really you could have told me Ariana Grande created classic music and I would have believed you.” She sniffed. Somehow that seemed to strike a nerve with the man and she held her hand up in truce, “Not to say it wasn’t a cool story, but man, do you not get out a lot?”

“I’m not clairvoyant, I’m a magician,” Landon rolled his eyes in disgust. It was disappointing that the general public couldn’t tell the difference between two forms of entertainment, but that’s what happened when funding for public education was continuously pulled. When the woman finally backed down a smidge and gave her name, Landon mumbled it to himself as he scanned the list. “Paisi, Paisi…I was unaware John had a sister,” a statement under his breath. “Alright, there you are. Did you bring a plus one?” he asked, but not before he pulled a quarter out of her ear. “I think my sister would be quite upset if I sawed someone in half on her special day, don’t you think?”

Rose couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the man’s explanation. “Please don’t say anymore or I will actively find a locker to stuff you in.” She remarked as she waited patiently for the man to find her name which she knew for a fact would be on there. His statement wasn’t lost on her and she couldn’t help but smirk. “You can’t tell by our eyebrows? It’s a strong trait we share.” She said, before she shook her head. “It’s just me all by myself so you don’t have to worry abou- dude what the hell?” She jumped back, startled at the swift movement, how unnatural it was to feel the movement of the quarter behind her ear that she was sure hadn’t been hidden away. “I wonder if she’d be equally as upset if I was the one who ended up sawing you in half.”

“What?” he asked, still grinning. Whatever a blood vessel was, it sounded like something that shouldn’t be broken. “God, no! I don’t have insurance and there’s no way I’m payin’ an am-bu-lance,” Zay laughed. His mother was still in debt from having all of her kids, there was no way Zay was going to inherit the same financial fate. At least, if he could help it. “Uh, on a good day? 220, but if I’m goin’ light 195,” he said. Rose always used words that he didn’t know, such as Goliath, but that was a trait she had in common with John. It was endearing in a way. “Ooh! So you’re a teacher? That’s wild, I’d be scared to be in your class,” he joked. “Nothing’s new! I’m still here, waking up every day and trying to live the best I can. I really can’t believe I’m lookin’ at you right now!”

It almost felt as if she and Zay had met in an alternative universe, one that bond them to an instance where she almost had clobbered him over the head with a golf club. She thought of the memory fondly as she crossed her arms together. “You’re not actively creeping around without announcing yourself right?” She asked with a small smirk. She waved off his joke, “I’ll have you know I have a few students who are already delighted to have me in the roster, there’s nothing about me that’s scary.” She relented. “Am I scary?” As they walked through the store, Rose shook her head at the state of some of the items in the store and she cocked her head to Zay. “I’m truly here in the flesh, not a hologram I swear. That’s good to hear though, it’s all you can do in a sleepy town like this, isn’t it?” She remarked.

The fact that the woman didn’t seem at all upset over the matter was a relief and Dustin deflated from her anxious high rather quickly. She still felt terrible getting the drink all over the woman’s dress, but the bright side she supposed was that it wasn’t something like wine that would really stain it. “I - of course. Yes. That would…probably be a much less awkward place to do this,” Dustin agreed with a soft chuckle, holding the napkins as they moved away from the center of the area and off towards the outskirts of where the people were gathered to a smaller nook with more privacy. “I ah…is there…can I help uh…at all in any way?” Dustin questioned as she held the napkins back out for the woman to take. Dustin didn’t see how she could be of much use without awkwardly helping wipe down the woman’s chest, but she was happy to help where she could. “It’s…it uh…the dress looks really good on you, uh…even…despite the drink.”

Before Rose could blink, she could see a group of people beginning to stare. She’d almost forgotten how in the thick of it all, Crescent Harbor certainly contained a group of those who could not quell their curiosity fast enough. She stared at a patron dead in the face before she semi-glared, “Have you never had a drink poured on your chest or are you just admiring the view?” That was enough to get the person to look away completely frazzled. “Honestly, just take a picture for all I care.” She muttered under her breath before they made it to the smaller nook. She swiped away at the droplets, chuckling at the woman’s statement as she beamed. “She was a steal too, original price was like $130 and I got her for $40.” Rose wouldn’t say she was frugal by any means but god did she love a good deal. “Luckily it’s black so even if it does stain I’m not gonna see it on the surface, it’ll just be weird later when I wring it out and some discoloration pouring from it.” She said with a laugh. “Don’t worry about it by the way, things happen, are you enjoying yourself?”

“Clearly it’s an issue,” Landon scoffed. “You can’t just wander in and out of a private event. There’s a guest list for a reason.” Years were being taken off of his life, he was sure of it. People never made lists anymore, and that was why they often forgot the most mundane items. “Who’s your brother?” he asked, annoyance in his tone. Whoever it was, Landon was sure that he would pull them aside and explain that he was a grown adult and shouldn’t be forgetting things. 

Rose’s lips pressed into a thin line, a wave of irritation fell on her features. “You didn’t even ask my name, so how could you possibly know whether or not I’m on the list just from looking at me? Are you clairvoyant?” She asked. She peered down at the man, wondering how one could manage to exude such a grandiose demeanor from where he stood. That was when she noticed an engraving of initials on his person. LJR.  Oh shit, was this Sanem’s notorious brother? Rose crossed her arms as she said, “Rosalind Paisi, I’m on Sanem’s side. And my brother is John Bernstein. And if you’d like to make me disappear you’re gonna need to pull some Houdini shit.”

“Fancy seeing you here,” she muses, elbow sliding across the bar as her palm supports her chin. Her gaze slips across the dainty features of the opposing brunette, nestling comfortably on large doe eyes. “I thought you’d be tucked away in a corner somewhere listening to the latest serial killer podcast.” Cora had dabbled briefly in the interests of Rose - a frequenter of Netflix’s latest hit documentary. Still, free time was not often commonplace in a world where her two occupations collided. She much preferred to reserve those hours for sleeping or alcoholism. “If I say I recently took a dive into Buzzfeed Unsolved, do I win some brownie points?”

The familiarity of the premium bar was one that brought Rose ease. She waited for a shot and a glass of wine before she heard Cora’s greeting ringing in her ears, a devious grin slowly formed across her lips. “My podcasting days don’t fall on the weekend Covington, but if you’re ever down to listen along with me one day I’d be happy to oblige that request.” The bartender was swift in getting Rose her drinks of choice, she downed her shot in a second before she tapped it back down, her eyebrow raising at Cora’s question. “Is that the one where that one guy is just wheezing all of the time?” Rose mused, “I suppose I could give you at least half a brownie point and indulge in a shot with you. If you name something a little harder, I might be coerced to do body shots by nights end.”

It was hard for Dustin not to get a little caught up in everything at a wedding. As someone who absolutely adored the idea of love and getting married, it was a haven for mushy feelings for her. Though, the crowds of people still had her a bit on edge. She’d chatted briefly with a few familiar faces, but as was the case with most big events found herself standing off to the side by herself just to people watch. Nursing a cup of ginger ale, Dustin completely lost in thought when a loud noise clattered behind her, sending her yelping forward with surprise and sending her cup of ginger ale right into the person who was in front of her. “Oh, my god…I - I ah…I am so sorry,” she mumbled, her words jumbling together nervously as she looked around rapidly to spot some napkins to help. Snatching up a couple from the table next to them, she offered them out with a furrowed brow, biting her lip with concern. 

Gingerly tending to a glass of wine, Rose looked through the sardine packed room not seeing a singular face that looked remotely familiar to her and that strangely enough brought her some comfort. She wasn’t sure if the wedding party was out taking pictures or just hiding out during the cocktail hour, but she’d made do with meeting random people and initiating small talk until she excused herself to the next person. Mostly, they all asked if she had any affiliation to the brides, a guest had even asked if she and Sanem were cousins and Rose had to shake her head before taking a big gulp of her wine. Her biological identity didn’t need to be dredged up today of all days, and if she was going to squash it down she’d do it with grace. She walked a little further along until suddenly a splash fell directly onto her dress, and she suddenly regretted not purchasing a longer gown or panty hose. The coolness of the drink alarmed her more than anything but the flurry of hands that went to sop up the spill brought on confusion before she laughed. “It’s not the first time somethings been spilled on me, but we might want to get out of the middle of the room and attend to this somewhere else?”

Landon didn’t understand how Lily was able to pull off such a gorgeous setting, but he would have to thank her at the end of the night. He had taken his own walk around the venue, taking test photos on his phone to make sure the natural lighting would suffice. And God, was it beautiful. “So these are the people we’re keeping out,” he murmured to the security team while reading over the list. “Do we need to go over descriptions again?” Instead, Landon whipped out his phone once more and e-mailed the hi-resolution photos to head security. “Make sure your team knows these faces, okay?” he stated with a smug grin before turning. “Aren’t you early?”

There was a perk to being in town just in time to see a beloved friend getting married, having the opportunity to live it up lavishly, even if it was just for the evening. After receiving an emergency text from John that he had forgotten something from his apartment, Rose jumped to the occasion to bring the item over to him to avert the crisis as need be before she laid a few digs on him for being so dapper. She excused herself from one of the bridal suites and just took to exploring the chateau itself. It looked like something out of a dream, every detail certainly wasn’t spared and for the briefest moment, Rose wondered if commitment might have been worth it in the end. She bumped into the man, brows furrowing slightly. “My brother forgot something and I did a special delivery, is that an issue?”
