Malin Gabriella Nordin

De jonge kunstenares Malin Gabriella Nordin maakt wat van alles. Er zijn illustraties, sculpturen, en sculpturen van illustraties. Voor haar laatste boek besloot ze om verschillende sculpturen samen te zetten en door kinderen tussen drie en vijf jaar oud te laten bestuderen. Gedurende een uur liet ze de kinderen kijken, voelen, verhalen verzinnen, en tenslotte vroeg ze ook wat er nog ontbrak of moest veranderd worden. De stille kinderen kregen ook de kans hun zegje te doen; Nordin vroeg in welke volgorde de sculpturen moest staan. Zonder te twijfelen gingen ze aan de slag.

Het idee is leuk, maar het boek is ook goed vormgegeven. De speciale sculpturen in combinatie met sobere typografie, is een combinatie die werkt.

Announcing a new project! It’s called “Koerslogo’s”, which is Flemish for “Road Cycling Logo’s” or something like that. The 2014 Spring Cycling Season starts this Saturday with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad (aka Gent - Gent), and I will be making a new logo for every important and semi-important race. I will put up a new logo two days before each specific race. Omloop Het Nieuwsblad starts in exactly two days, so here it is already!
