The reason you don't like stories like lore olympus is bc you don't even like the original myth of the kidnapping of persephone and other myths, but instead of saying "ah, it's their own interpretation" and moving on with your life, and checking content that you ACTUALLY like, you accuse the authors and the fans of romanticizing abuse or being completely ignorant, bc "i don't like their relationship, so why would anyone does?"
you're so disconnected from reality that you can't comprehend that someone else chose to have a different interpretation of old classical works, fairytales and folktales, so you come up with these ridiculous reasons on why having your own interpretation is morally bad and why you're a bad person bc of it
The internet has rotten your brains so much so that you see the world as black and white, you whine and complain abt wanting complexity in fiction, but you can't even handle the complexity of real life, the second you open the internet you immediately forget that every post you come across, that every account you respond to, there's a human being behind it, just like you, but you'll never realize that for as long as you forget that other people have different point of view
And before you say anything abt "conservative criticism" , calling people, or even implying that they're rape/abuse apologists, and accusing them of being disrespectful and ignorant is not conservative criticism, its bullying, you're bullying people by accusing them of being the worst human beings to ever exist, just bc you don't like that they chose to reinterpret stories from the past to fit our modern standards and ideals
And one last thing, a retelling, in literature, is a type of derivative works that refashions a story to bring a new version of it's predecessor that is similar but not identical, look it up

I feel like the world building in lo is not appreciated enough, which is a shame bc i actually like the world building, it feels so thought out and it adds so much depth in the story
For example, i like how the underworld is known for producing the sharpest of lawyers, is it a bit too much that it's the only place that has a law school? Maybe, but it does make sense since in the original mythology the first thing you learn abt the underworld is it's role in giving the final judgement on the dead, not only that but it's also known for holding and punishing mortals like sisyphus and tantalus who offended the gods, so law and judgement plays a bigger role in the underworld in the original mythology than the other realms
