Have you ever gone to the beach and wondered how many people have stood in the same spot you’re standing in right now? Sharing the same sky, the same view, maybe even the same troubles as you. What a comfort it is to know others have stood with you at the end of the world with the familiar feeling of the sun in your eyes, wind in your hair, and sand in between your toes. Maybe that place isn’t the beach. Maybe it’s a mountain top or hillside or flat plain of grass. Maybe it’s a rooftop or a sidewalk or just a season in your life. Either way, it’s nice to know that somewhere out there, perhaps across time and space, there’s someone who shares the same experiences as you. 23 things I learned in 23 years 1. Lemon and strawberry is the greatest combo ever. 2. Pampering and taking care of yourself does not make you shallow. 3. People actually like you just for being you. 4. Some people won’t like you because you’re you and that’s okay. 5. One alarm is not enough. Set like 5 minimum. 6. Exfoliate your face twice a week. 7. Two words: Shea Butter. 8. No one stalks your social media more than you do. 9. Nothing beats a home cooked meal. 10. You don’t owe anyone an explanation about anything. 11. If you’re gonna say it, say it with your chest. 12. Confront whatever it is your avoiding. Whatever it is, it’s not as bad as it seems. 13. It’s okay to look up to someone or admire them, but don’t put them on a pedestal. 14. I will never not cry during animal movies. 15. Visit your grandparents more often. 16. Not everyone is guaranteed a long and happy life. 17. Keeping faith is really really hard. 18. Being nice and being sensitive is not a weakness. 19. Not a single “adult” knows wtf they’re doing. 20. You’re never too busy. It’s called prioritization and time management. 21. If you don’t like something about yourself, know that only you have the power to fix it. 22. You won’t do it later. Stop lying to yourself and just do it now while you have the time. 23.
