“Okay so you’re not bias when it comes to looks for work, but what about dating people? You can totally date people based on looks.” Rose grinned. “But if you don’t want to go out with the soccer mom then ditch her and spend the night with the charming girl you met at the bar.”

“Because they have a job to do, that’s why.”

“Okay but when I’m at work I have a job to do too and people still come to visit me. It would be the same thing as petting the dogs.”

“No? They’re specially trained.”

“Well if they’re specially trained and not easily provoked then how come I can’t pet them. All I want to do is show them how much I love them.”

“Rose…I’d like to think you know me better than that by now. Of course I said no.” Elijah reassures her before his face cringes. “I said no and told her it wasn’t even appropriate to ask. But if she was going to ask me out, she could’ve asked me to dinner or something instead of to a sex movie. I’m worth getting to know.” He teases, putting his hand over his chest.

“I wouldn’t be so confident about that. I know you and sometimes I wish I didn’t.” Rose teased him. “What did she say though? Please tell me she’s at least a hot mom. If she’s not then was it really worth saving her precious bundle of joy?”

“Isn’t it like really easy to provoke them though? I’ve seen cops plenty of times to know that.”

“Oh yeah, I’ve been there before. Everything is just awful. I think we should just fight all disgusting men in this town and then live happily ever after.” he suggested with a laugh. “But really, tell me next time. I’ll fight a random guy.”

“Can we please? We can start a gang of anyone who as ever been objectified and we’ll go around defending our honor.” Rose laughed to herself. “I appreciate it, love. I really do, but I can fight my own battles.”

“So this woman came by the firehouse with cookies to thank me for saving her daughter last week. Sweet, right? Wait for it, so then I thanked her and she proceeded to ask me if I had seen the new Fifty Shades movie yet. Turns out she was inviting me to go with her. I literally couldn’t make this up if I tried.” 

“Please tell me you used your brain at this moment and said no. Those movies are trash and you barely even know this woman. It’s not the kind of movie you go to with a stranger.”

“They’re not mean! They’re just trained. they have a job to do, you know?”

“But their job is to attack people. I prefer dogs who are there to cuddle and won’t try to bite my arm off.”

“We might be getting K9 unit at work, I’m super excited. I love dogs so much.”

“Police dogs are such a tease though. You can’t pet them when they’re working and aren’t they like really mean?”

“I just can’t handle the gay men around here, honestly.  They all expect me to be some sexy Latin man. Bitch I’m not Antonio Banderas, do you see me with my shirt unbuttoned? No. I don’t have any abs, I’m flabby, pero flabby.  The only stereotype I might stick with is beating your ass with chancletas. Well I mean not you, but the pendejo who is objectifying me. ” 

“At least the stereotype they’re comparing you to is a good one. I cannot even tell you how many straight men ask me if I can clean their pool and then laugh like it’s a fucking joke. Some of them even try to hit on me afterwards. Like yeah, I might be a slut but I at least respect myself enough to not sleep with someone who’s going to insult me. I’m fucking over it.”
