Themis, one of the first of the Titans, had long held her position as Olympus' head of divine law and order. Through fate and prophecy, she oversaw the balance of both the mortal and godly worlds. In name and status she sat upon an Olympian throne, both for her role as law and as a wife to the King of Gods. For many millennia this was her existence. Below Olympus the people of the mortal realm would go on to immortalize her as the Lady Justice. And yet, just as happened to her image on Olympus, the mortal realm below was corrupted. The cries of those wronged by the world crushed her soul, for she felt she could do nothing for them anymore. “Justice" was just a guize for power and wealth control. She saw how her underworld counter part, Nemesis, executed her version of retribution and balance. Overtime Themis became more an more unsettled with the state of balance in the world, both mortal and godly. She dreamt of a happier life, one with more freedom, and light.
Morpheus was a quiet god. Monitoring over the realm of dreams for all eternity was both serene and bedlam all in one perpetual state of being. Like watching a million changing stars in the night sky all at once. Have you ever heard of the Sandman visiting you in your sleep? Or perhaps the phenomenon of "faceless-man dreams?” Sometimes, the Sandman would like to take rest in the dreams of those with pure hearts. I don't think him a villain for wanting to share or experience joy every once in a while, even if it is through the subconscious heart of another's mind. Morpheus can see the dreams of others, both good and bad. Mortal or immortal. It is his job to monitor them, after all.
One night, a specific star caught the faceless man's eye. One of hope, no, not hope. One of want, for a nicer existence. A happier, lighter future. Her stars light shown so brightly in the sea of sand, he couldn't help but want to hold it. Cradle it's warm glow ever so gently in his palms and nurture it. Was that a bad thing? I don't think it was. But every action has its consequence, that's just the law of this world.
At first, it was only small, fleeting interactions. Once in a blue moon, an unfamiliar face would appear in Lady Themis's dreams. One much warmer and gentler than any "King of Gods" could ever hope to be. Over the years, these dream-hosted meetings became longer and more frequent, until it was practically every night the two were together. They'd spend what felt like hours doing whatever their hearts desired. Small chats? Anytime. Late night talks? Always. Walking along a ocean scene? Stargazing peacefully in the snow? Traveling across Paris in bateaux mouches? Singing in Basque during a festival? Midnight baking in a domestic cottage kitchen? Dancing on the balcony with a record playing in the background? Anything. Anything their hearts desired, anything her heart desired. He would make it hers. Of course he would make it hers. It didn't take very long for Morpheus to realize the Titaness had captivated him. Hook line and sinker; she had his heart. And he had hers in return.
There was one thing though, that he was afraid to give to her. For he was afraid of what might happen if to them if he did. Themis had seen over the years how gods and mortals alike had homes and families to call their own. She yearned to be free from the egomaniacal suffocation of Mount Olympus. She wanted a family to call her own. A husband who cherished and adored her (unlike her current spouse), and a warm home to return to and rest in. Two of these three things she had achieved within the subconscious world. A child though, that was more complicated. It was physical, a life couldn't be totally contained into the dream realm. The creation and body, the soul, would have to physically exist in the world. All actions have consequences, whether they're good or bad, and Zeus is known to be unfond of children that "his" women have.
Themis knew what was coming, a new prophecy had come into play. A second Titan War would be at large soon... She just didn't know how "soon" that would be. It could be 5 years, it could be 50. Regardless, it was an opportunity. An opportunity for her and Morpheus' love to be freed from the shackles of the dream realm. For their dream of a family and a peaceful life to become reality. With the King of Gods and all other "corrupt" deities being disposed of, the lovers could realize their ideal future.
A plan was made, and a baby was born. Morpheus created a dream, shaping it like clay. Themis and her beloveds gentle hands molded soul from the clouds, the stars, and the sky into a child. Their child, their first and only daughter. A steady golden brush painting features onto her like a potter paints after their kiln. Freckles like constellations sprinkled atop her skin; beautiful brown eyes with specks of gold and moldavite hidden inside. Blessing her with every gift they could, the immortal couple would give her the whole world if it were possible. But every action has its consequences, and they knew they couldn't hide her from theirs forever. As much as it hurt, the lovers knew that raising their daughter in the godly realm was only recipe for horror. They scouted a kindhearted mortal couple that was struggling for a child, and let their daughter be born through the mortal mother. To be raised by the couple safely away from their immortal realm.
5 years go by, then 10, then 15. Morpheus and Themis see their little girl grow up from afar, watching over her as the time ticked by them. It was quiet and peaceful, but it was restless. Murmurs of a second Titan War only became louder as the days went by. Shortly after their little girl turned 16, Kronos started whispering and collecting allies amongst the Gods and Titans. It wasn't long before Nemesis and some of the other underworld gods held a meeting to discuss the situation over Lord Time. While they didn't all agree exactly with what Kronos promoted, they were rather unanimous in their feelings towards getting rid of Zeus. Morpheus linked his beloved into these meetings through the dream realm, and she became an invaluable source of information for the growing Titan Army. Even after all was said and done post war with Gaia, the Olympians were none the wiser to Themis's role in these events. How did Luke get away with stealing her husband’s lightning bolt so easily? Hmm.. must have been those sneaky Hermes powers. Yes, that was it. How did Cronos and his troops make it into Olympus during the Battle of Manhattan? They must have all squeezed into that 600 floor elevator. For sure. Never would Olympus's own resident Lady Justice betray them, that’s preposterous. Absolutely inconceivable.
Meanwhile, their daughter had grown into quite the warrior. Though they had hoped to raise her away from chaos and keep her in the mortal world, they knew deep down that was unrealistic. The divine creation of a Titan and a God, of course fate would find a way to get them involved. Kronos had found Elizabeth while she was on her way home from class one night, and offered the opportunity to take away all her fears. To make her dreams come true. In exchange for her strength in his army, Lord Time would give her the ultimate prize. The gift of Immortality. You'd think she'd already have this, seeing that her creators have been around for several millennia. But she was born through an entirely human couple. She may have retained (though yet to be discovered) the abilities and gifts her true parents gave her, but she could not live forever. Kronos changed that with a handshake though, and suddenly the problem was no more.
Immortalized at 17, she worked at her parents side throughout the entirety of the war. Relaying information at night, training and scouting during the day. Elizabeth became quite the efficient Commander after losing her last touch of mortality, those hours lost to sleep can be very useful when you’re short on people! Still, as the war went on her parents wanted to limit as much potential engagement with the King of Gods as possible. Instead, Elizabeth was put in charge of leading attacks on the Roman Camp, and never stepped foot on Camp Half-Blood soil. She was too busy scouting and painting the grounds of the other camp. In her free time though, when scouting and killing and training was all done for the day, she seemed to find herself staring at a certain boy.
(*note if you don't like oc/canon you probably won't like this part sorry not sorry chat)
She wasn't sure why she was drawn to him. Maybe the fact that their mother’s identities were so interwoven? Was it that she liked his work ethic and reliable resolve? She didn't know. But in her off hours she always seemed to be daydreaming about a certain black haired boy. He was cute, shorter than her by a few inches, and around a year younger. It was almost magnetic, she could look at him for hours and never get tired. It wasn't on purpose, but she tended to give him more attention during training sessions. Painfully oblivious though, her friends caught on rather quickly to this little crush. The one-eyed boy himself didn't seem to notice. He was too focused on the task at hand, and too tired for anything else. How should she combat this? Maybe a good night of sleep would help? She knew she shouldn't use her powers irresponsibly, but giving him a couple happy dreams can't be so bad, right? Demigods get such terrible nightmares, is it wrong for her to try an protect him from that? Still, even though he was now more well rested, he was oblivious to any advances she made on him. At least Aunt Hecate was encouraging. Just go for it Elizabeth! What do you have to lose by being a bit more direct in your flirting? You're smart, strong, and a beautiful young lady! Just go for it! Yeah right. Easier said than done. Elizabeth has zero prior romantic experience, rarely even having had any crushes to begin with. Eye-patch boy was new territory.
She watched from a far, sneakily (well, maybe not as sneakily as she'd hoped) leaving him extra rations. Every now and then, Ethan would find new soap and shampoo in the shower caddy. Or clean, folded, new clothes in his dresser drawer. Or occasionally finding his favorite dark chocolates by his night stand. His name was mysteriously bumped towards the top of the list of those getting new armor, and he'd been getting unusually good sleep at night, despite the short amount of hours. At first he thought it was his mother looking out for him. Finally answering his prayers, but that didn't feel right. Ethan decided to ask Hecate for guidance on the situation, as she usually gave solid advice. Hecate however was not very stealthy in her decision to play match maker, because the second Ethan came to her asking for help with this mysterious sponsor she spilt everything. He was both a bit disappointed and relived to find out it wasn't actually his mother who was doing all that for him. Yes he craved the idea of her paying attention to him, but it felt a bit out of character for Nemesis. The pretty commander from the Roman Battle Division though? He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little flustered. He felt like he had to give her something in return, for all the things she'd been giving him over the past year.
Elizabeth opened the door to her quarters after returning from another camp Jupiter scouting trip. It was a bit boring, but boring was better than bloody she supposed. As she went to sit down she noticed a small bouquet of flowers on her bed. It was kind of messy, but she could tell it was handmade. Daucus Carota, Hyacinthoides Nonscripta, Salvia Rosemarinus, and Convallaria Majalis, all tied into a little bouquet with a bandage-wrap ribbon and a note asking to meet up that night.
It wasn't long after that the two started being seen together more and more often. Elizabeth still remembers the first time she had the guts to hold his hand in public, and the way he shyly reached for hers in tandem. Other demigods in the army would tease them if it weren't for their high ranking, not to mention Hecate randomly shooting them a smug thumbs up everytime she saw the two together. Still, work was work. As the Titan Wars encore progressed, tensions grew. You can imagine a girls... unhappiness... To finding out her boyfriend was almost exploded and drowned by an enemy tag team on the Princess Andromeda. Even further unhappiness when her parents refused to let her lead a counter attack on the camp that just successfully imploded their Armys only sea base. Thankfully one of the generals on the ship, a child of Hecate, was able to keep the demigod casualties to a minimum.
Attacks from both sides became more bloody each go-around. Elizabeth took her emotions out on the unfortunate members of Camp Jupiter, while Ethan (more or less) handled things with Camp Half-Blood. Everynight Elizabeth would find herself slipping into Ethan's dreams, staying with him as a small rest and reprieve before the next day. Kronos became impatient as the war went on, getting more and more aggressive in his strategies. More messy. More incompetent.
Elizabeth remembered the day before the Battle of Manhattan. She was to lead a team of monsters and hold a tri-frontal attack on Camp Jupiter. She remembered talking to Ethan that night. Holding his hand and laying down next to him. She asked him to promise that he'd be okay. Promise to be careful. And he did, but sometimes promises aren't enough.
After a relatively successful attack on the Roman Camp, what remained of her team regrouped with General Torrington’s platoon. They received orders to backup the Central Manhattan group, as apparently Hades decided to make an appearance. The fighting went on for what felt like days and seconds all at once. It was blur of noise and muddy color. Through the sacrilege of it all, there was the deafening moment when she saw a body falling from the sky. Ethan's body. Her Ethan's body. It was so far away, like a small dark dot plummeting against the light of the clouds, but in her gut she knew it was him. It didn't matter how fast she tried to run, she knew she would be able to catch him. It wasn't long after that Morpheus sent out a mist message that Kronos had been defeated.
Torrington and her seemed to be on the same wavelength, to not stop fighting. They'd both received the orders to fall back and retreat, but that wasn't really an option, was it. If they stopped now, it would all be for nothing, wouldn't it? All the bloodshed? All the loss? Would it have been for nothing if they sat and gave up? They didn't need to say anything to each other to understand what the other was thinking, retreat was not their answer. Time seemed to slow down and speed up all at once again, the endless bashing and swinging at undead soldiers. Most other fighters on both sides had either ran away of been incapacitated. The shield and great sword Elizabeth's parents had given her proved very useful in this brawl. She trusted the general to take care of himself but cover her if needed, as she did the same for him. Shield, great sword, and magic; a tank/mage duo if you will. It wasn't until they ran out of enemies that either of them realized their scenery had completed changed. Apparently Morpheus and Hecate took it upon themselves to pluck their stubborn children off the battlefield and into the dream realm away from any remaining fight. Torrington just about collapsed as the adrenaline wore off, but Elizabeth was in a daze. She wanted to go find him, she had to see with her own eyes that he was actually dead.
A woman stood at the bottom of the Empire State building, staring at her feet. Or something by her feet. They say the brain is active for 7 minutes after death, replaying your memories back to you like a video tape. Does that point still stand if your corpse is less of a corpse and more of a splat? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, Nemesis knelt down beside the corpse of her son. Gently, she brought the back of her hand to his face, grazing over his cheek softly and brushed the hair out of his face. She planted a soft kiss on the boys forehead before standing back up. The goddess stared at the girl in front of her, and made her a deal.

Annnnddddd that’s where we’re gonna leave off chat for I fear if I add anymore in one sitting my retinas may explode. I’ll add a couple of bullet points though on Elizabeth since she’s technically supposed to be the main focus of this ask lmao
-her age being 24 is meant as a “24 years since she was brought into existence” sort of thing since I just add the difference between her and Percy’s age as the books go on. She was 16-20 during the Titan War years, and is still immortal now.
-her favorite color is dark red (no duh)
-she’s INFJ and a Capricorn
-she lowkey cut her arm and leg off herself, she didn’t lose them in battle.
-yk when people feel the need to blame/punish themselves when something bad happens
-she did NAWT take Ethan’s death and the war results well lol
-certified nuclear crashout
-the prosthetic limbs were courtesy of Nemesis, Morpheus, and Themis
-her parents highkey spoil her rotten
-she had a dog named Snowflake growing up who died before she left for the Titan Army
-Elizabeth asked Morpheus to make her mortal parents forget her so they wouldn’t be scared by her disappearance or potential death and so Zeus couldn't use them against her
-her favorite animals are whale sharks and tigers (specifically the orange ones)
-she hates cooking (.. ethan loved cooking)
-she likes soup and soft boiled eggs as a go-to meal
-but she’s willing to try most things at least once
-she harbors a lot of one sided beef toward Camp-Half Blood, even though no one there knows who she is
-Camp Jupiter is another story
-If Reyna or Jason ever saw her face they’d probably shart themselves.
-Alabaster and Elizabeth aren’t exactly friends, more coworkers with a common enemy and ties to Ethan
-right now she’s laying low with Morpheus and Nemesis in the underworld while helping relay information from Themis as the Olympians rebuild
-^main reason Torrington and any other ex-TA demigods haven’t been caught yet
-both her great sword and shield were gifts from her parents and Nemesis
-she sees Nemesis as like the cool biker aunt and Hecate as the nice cat lady aunt
-Nemesis gave Elizabeth Ethan’s eyepatch after he died as a keep sake for her
-she likes jewelry and clothes but won’t ever ask for them
-that’s where Morpheus being a doting father comes in
-towards the end of the titan war she was known for decapitating enemies after the battle and staking their heads on sticks as a way to cool off
-like I said certified nuclear crashout
-Morpheus told her to maybe stop doing that but Nemesis just laughed
-she a gold girly but she’ll be thankful for whatever she’s given
-ethan was more the silver jewelry one, so sometimes she’d give him her silver stuff
-but she enjoys screaming at people
-the battle field background noise speaks to her
-without the heals she’s 5’8 (172cm), but with the shoes she’s standing at 6 foot (183cm)
-okay that’s all for now byeee ty anon ily mwah
