I don’t even know
what it is exactly about you
that has me
it’s like a drug
you bring me to such
high highs and low lows
you are so deep in my soul
that there’s no getting you out
I was a goner from the first moment

i’m such a goddamn paradox that it kills me. i crave love and i give it out so effortlessly but when it’s returned to me i feel undeserving and i push it away because i’m convinced i don’t deserve to hold onto something so pure. i fear nothing. nothing scares me anymore. i’ll walk into a million dark rooms and sit down next to the monsters and listen to their stories. and yet i’m scared of the light, the goodness. monsters don’t scare me. lovers with pure intentions do. i crave connection but anytime someone genuinely tries to get close to me, i panic and shut down and get stuck inside of myself. i’m crawling in my own damn skin because i cannot stop shedding layer after layer to get to someone new. to someone maybe a bit more likable. everyone says i’m an extrovert and that i’m so good at communicating and lighting up a room but silence is my best friend. i can go hours sitting in silence, losing myself, as reality fades into the universe inside my head. honestly, it’s much safer there. i give. i pour my soul and drain my blood into so many thirsty mouths but i refuse to let anyone bleed for me. not anymore. because i have been a monster. i have been the one that walks around with a bloody knife just waiting to plunge it into someone’s heart. twisting it, turning them inside out, making morbid masterpieces out of people that were never mine. i ache. i hurt. i shatter and yet i am still so whole. i act as a home for people who need a place to sleep and stay safe but i’m always on the move. i cant stop running. i cant slow down. i cant take a breath. but here i am, on the side of the road, stopped to pull someone’s bloody body out of the ditch. i flee the scene but you will never see me pass up an opportunity to stitch someone up and make them whole again. i’m lost. i’m hurting. i’m suffocating but at the same time, i’m okay. i’m alive. i’m healing. and i don’t know which one to focus on. i don’t know which part of me needs a fucking bandage because my whole body is doused in blood.
— i cant tell if the blood under my fingernails is from mutilating myself or from piecing someone else back together.
“Gingerly— I am afraid you are too fragile to touch. So I graze my fingertips across your forearm, gingerly. Sneak my hand into yours ever so gently, not wanting to disturb you from your quiet slumber. My heart clenches. For your palms are warm, as if in anticipation, like you’ve been expecting my arrival. Waiting to give your love to me by the handfuls. Remind me that life is much too short to remain cold or bitter about the little things. I am afraid to take it from you. I worry you may need it for some other time when love runs short and the journey is long. But your hands, are warm. The tired kind now. As if you’ve been clinging on for too long. For a moment, I cling on too. Perhaps too tightly. I want to say I have made my peace, but I find myself rubbing my palms together too often these days. The journey is long, and I wonder if the time runs out before the love does. I hope so.”
— “Warmth” remnant-thoughts
our timing isn’t ever right;
i leave as you arrive
but something in your passing smile
makes it still worthwhile
sometimes i am so full of love for you that i feel i will overflow before the night ends. i am the ocean that blankets the beach and surprises the village. with you, i forget i have boundaries and i love, untethered. when i see you smile you become the sun in a starless portion of the universe, where life cries out in relief at your presence. when you laugh i find myself oddly close to tears, like my body can only contain so much feeling before it splinters a little at the edges. too often the world is a dark, cold place but in moments like these, i am the opposite of hopeless. you define what it is to exude light. you are a beacon, not just to me, but to a world at siege, and so many people see it.

“here, with you, that’s home because I have tried to fight the darkness on my own but darling, the light cracks in with you and there are things I want goals I see just out of my reach but with you, I can feel them becoming reality instead of just some desperate dreams and I am not someone who waits I am someone who seeks I found what I’m looking for in you so keep your eyes on me for the next eon and even the stars telling a new story could not ever silence the strength of your name, beating in my chest”

“It’s 5:16 on a Saturday morning and I’m crying out to the rising sun, begging for the hurt to stop”

“
If I could kiss every strand of your starless-night hair, and every lock and curl that exists upon your perfect frame
I would find my breath clasped between the rhythms your heart beats, exchanged of air in waters from the sacred lakes and fires of your soul –
And as I cross the settled rivers of your soil, across the endless acreage of our life’s land, you become my journey to a discovery: that the rules of breathing captivate my
soul on the coastal sands of your gaze, the portered bronze and marbled phrases of your eyes in colors I cannot explain seized in the twilight of a night’s single star

“Dear November, Take it easy on me. I can barely see. I walk through the fog that seems like just yesterday was the warmth of the sun. I’m not ready for the cold, not ready for the loneliness, not ready for the darkness that swallows me as each winter comes.”
— Nicole Abrams, writing prompt #66: Write about November (via wnq-writers)
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”

Anthony Bourdain
romanticize it however you’d like but Jupiter’s clouds are not soft, they could never catch an angel falling, they are far too dense and even if you survived the ammonia and sulfur in the sky, the last layer of clouds is like an ocean. can angels swim? or would their wings waterlog to drag them down with the weight of being celestial?

“The stars have become my only solace as the broken heart within me cries to be reunited with its other half.”
— Half a Soul / Unrequited Love
“To be back here, in the same place where I once fell in love for the first time and when you fell out of love once again, is strange. It’s strange to think that these grounds our feet has touched will contain the footprints of someone else, that our hearts will one day beat for another one. To think that a while back, we walked, we ran, and we danced in the rain, in the snow, beneath the burning sun, together as if forever might be a thing. To wander down these same streets and trying to forget the memories that were made here, is difficult. It is difficult to replace old things with new ones. Nostalgia will demand for you to live in the paths you’ve already crossed.”
