She can’t remember the last time she wasn’t drowned in work, when she was truly happy and felt like herself.

Actually, scratch that. She can remember.

Three summers ago, in Dubai, with Fezco O’Neill.

But that’s a phase of her life that she can’t find her way back to, because they haven’t spoken since, so she shakes the thought away and sips her coffee with a frown on her face.

(people we meet on vacation au where lexi and fez were childhood friends who went on a summer trip every year, until one summer when everything went wrong and now they’re no longer in contact.)

Obviously, he understood a lot of what he knew about Lexi was from second hand information and assumptions he had made over the years. The tone of the message did not fit with anything he knew of or had thought to associate with her. He wondered if this was one of those catfish situations.
