“Yeah, I know.” Thomas shook his head, looking down, “Sounds like a plan Lily.”

“That’s easy, in one you have feelings wrote, in the other you have ideas.” Thomas nodded, explaining it the best he could.

“pulling a prank on that grump hardly seems worth risking my life. so i think i’ll have to pass on that one.” she remembers the man vividly from her time working at the ministry, so she’s not keep to piss him off. “sounds perfect.”

“Yeah, it’s worth seeing the entire auror division lose their shit when he storms out of his office demanding his stuff.” Thomas smiled ear-to-ear, that had been a good week. Shrugging, he nodded “I guess I gotta start trying not to work my head off.”

“A month? That’s very generous of you; Melora needs a break, the woman works too hard. Is that so? Just as long as he’s being educated too as he’d be more happy about it.” Allen knew how much that kid was and it sometimes scared him as much as it excited him. Felix obviously took after his mother, there was no doubt about it. “Prank wars, eh? ‘Sounds like something that could liven up the ranch in Romania.” Allen was rather childish after all. He chuckled softly at the mention of Moody. “I remember him being serious back at school too. I only had one year with him but it was still rememberable. Artie does have a wicked sense of humour so I can see why you’d target him.” He chuckled once more, “It’s a carnival, Tommy, I can eat whatever the hell I want. ‘Sides, I’d burn it off in a matter of hours.”

“Honestly, a month. She does I’ve seen her run through all of diagon ally before. Yeah, I don’t know how well he’d like some of the creatures my mom tries to bring home but she’ll share her plethora of knowledge.” With a smile, Thomas shook his head and nodded, “Yep, prank wars. A nightmare too, someone got the minister during that dark dark prank war.” Snorting, he nodded “The chief is serious to a fault, scary almost. Arthur ended up getting me the next day with a muggle toy. Of all things, a muggle toy.” Thomas snorted a laugh, although being shot by a Nerf gun in the nose did hurt more than he would admit. Starting to head to the food area, he nodded “yeah yeah, let’s go.”

Looking at him, he shook his head. “It doesn’t.. pain me. It’s just a topic that always ruins the mood. And this is a carnival. We should be having fun, not sit here and complain and make each other sad” he mused and sighed. It seems like the only thing he did nowadays was make people sad with his presence. “I wouldn’t say idiotic. Just excited”

Thomas nodded, “yeah, sometimes it’s like that. Honestly, I think the only thing that could ruin the carnival is death eaters.” He shook his head, and smiled. “Idiotic, excited sometimes they are the same.”

“Pranks and security measures in the same sentence are music to my ears,” James smirked from ear-to-ear. “Any plans to get Moody to lighten up?” He knew that their boss was a bit sour when it came to pranks. The old man needed to learn how to have fun. “Ah! I was more determined to win without it. It’s sort of defeats the purpose, don’t ya think?”

“Exactly! And I do actually,” Thomas waved his hands dramatically, “There’s this muggle prank I found out through my sister, it’s putting everything he has in the office in Jello.” Smiling from ear-to-ear as well, he explained that it would take a few attempts. Shaking his head, “If you’ve got magic use it, right? Honestly, I could probably win before you even hit a target.”

“i don’t think i’ve ever heard pranks and security measures in the same sentence. the two just don’t really mesh.” she points out with a teasing smirk. desdemona settles against a booth then, crossing her arms. “make it your half way year resolution or whatever. to just go with the flow.”

“Generally no,” He nodded, “Unless you pull a prank on Chief Moody.  Then they mesh perfectly.” Thomas made vague hand motions as he explained. He shrugged, “Summer resolution.”

James furrowed his brow as he handed back the pad. “Ah, I can… I, uh, just don’t see it as needed right now.” Of course he didn’t know how to speak or read German. Languages wasn’t mandatory subject back at Hogwarts which he was glad for. James didn’t think he would have the patience for it. He shrugged at Thomas’ words. “I think she got embarrassed and went for a walk. It’s alright though, I’m calming down now.”

Smiling as he took back his notepad, “It’s not important now because all that’s on there is pranks and security measures.” Thomas smiled, as they often weren’t allowed to pull pranks, even if they felt like it was mandatory. That was mostly his fault, he did hide all of Chief Moody’s stuff. “Yeah, sounds like her. I’m surpised you didn’t try to use magic to win the games.”

“Well, my dad raises them for a living so I can see your point. Very beautiful though,” she hummed. Fei had never got close to them in fear of getting kicked or experience the horrible smell. Her father was a capable Magizoologist in that regards. Her mother preferred the International Offices at the Ministry. “Perhaps it’s a bit of both?” She teased him softly before giving him a intrigued look. “Are sure? When you fall for someone you’re constantly thinking of them… you even find yourself going out of your way to keep them happy.” That was how Fei defined it, especially when there were other factors she was missing out.

Thomas smiled, “Yeah, they really are. Better then some of the things my mom would bring home when I was a kid.” They really were, but that wasn't hard if your mother kept bringing dragons home. He shrugged, “Maybe.” Crossing his arms he thought about what she had said and nodded, “I think that’s pretty much what love is.”

Allen grinned despite himself, “I ought to say that’s dangerous but the boy doesn’t take any interest. He needs some danger or adventure at that age.” He worried that Felix spent too much time with the dogs. Which was adorable, don’t Allen wrong, but the child needed friends too. “Ah, pretty well actually. Well, the healer was handsome so I can’t complain. Wait, why were you aiming for Artie?” Not that he was mad, he was just too amused to be annoyed. He was overprotective of his brothers at times. Molly too, it seemed. Allen allowed a chuckle leave his lips as he hooked his first duck. He was quick to get a second and then the third. “Here’s your pig, mate. Look after him, okay?” He grinned, holding out the bear. “You owe me cotton candy and a massive pretzel.”

“Well, that’s true. I could let him stay for a month, I’m sure my mom would take him with her to her job almost every day. Or at least try, she’s always hunting adventure and looking for someone to drag with her.” Thomas laughed, shaking his head as he looked around, “Prank war, It was a ministry thing because everyone was hyped and we aurors can’t pull pranks because of Chief Moody.” Thomas explained, “And your brother is fun to prank.” He sighed, grabbing the pig, “I guess I do owe you sugar sweets that probably aren’t the best for you.”

“No not at all, man. You are not failing at all” he said and smiled, a soft chuckle leaving him as he shook his head. “I am someone who is constantly hard on myself. But that is a topic for another time” he cringed.

“Personal woes? I understand that,” Thomas said, dropping the conversation about his social life. “Everyone has some but it’s always different. You don’t have to ever bring it up again if it pains you.” Shaking his head, Thomas looked over to the carnival “I can hear some of those idiotic teenagers yelling.”

A sly chuckle left his lips as he shook his head. “The question is, are you on the security team? I know that they have some strict employment protocols. I see you wanna help but,” he grabbed at the notepad. “How about relaxing and having a go at the dodgems, hm? I think we both need a break.” At the mention of his girlfriend, James began to look around before shrugging. “She, uh, ran off after I started shouting at the gaming vendors. I think these games are fixed.”

Thomas laughed, “I think I’m relaxing just fine away from the crowd. Less worry, if I have to tell you why. Now, give the notepad back, I don’t even think you can read german.” He held his hand out for the notepad, raising an eyebrow at what James said “yelled at the game vendors? How did sweet darling Lily end up with you if you’ve been yelling at game vendors?”

“Then come join the fun!” She exclaimed, “Have you been to the slushie booth? thats my favourite one.” She smiles, hoping to get him excited to be at the carnival some way. “Dang, you saw those.?” She sighs before letting out a quiet giggle.

“You know me Lily, I don’t like crowds and I’m sure there’s a crowd.”  He made up a lie, impulsively. It wasn’t really a lie, he just didn’t quite like slushies. Or something like that, he told himself.

James had decided to take a break from loosing all of his money. He was surely going to annoy his girlfriend by that. That was when he spotted the other male in the distance. “Rosendorn,” he greeted with nod as a slight grin formed over his lips. “Did you not get the memo? You’re not supposed to bring your homework to a party.”

Thomas started to laugh and then made his face neutral again, “Yeah, yeah. It’s not homework its security ideas, something that needs to be thought over.” He looked up from his note pad, “Suprising to see you’re not with Lily.”

“Really?” Thomas raised an eyebrow, “Thought I was failing.” With a smile he added, “I think everyone’s a bit hard on themselves. Although I guess now isn’t the time to be.”
