SUZUKAZE RIKUTO ( 涼風陸斗 ) AND SUZUKAZE HINA ( 涼風日菜 ). ARTISTIC, WILD, AND FREE BUT HER ABSENTEE PARENTS AT BEST. 37 AND 35.

They're a cautionary tale about parents who still think they are kids as far as their eldest daughter is concerned. They met during Hina’s first year of high school, Rikuto a then third year and on his way to graduation. They were a picture-perfect romantic comedy. A whirlwind romance turns a quiet, demure girl into a reckless “wild child” and an ambitious delinquent loses his hard edges. Uncommitted and young, they went their separate ways after a time and eventually reconnected at a performance done by a mutual friend. Things came up, things happened, and they had a shotgun marriage when they accidentally had Ran. Unwilling to be kept from enjoying their youth by their child, Rikuto and Hina often disappeared from the household and left the child with her maternal grandparents. Absences, then, eventually just became leaving. Ran quickly learned to stop asking. They would return from time to time, showering their daughter in presents gathered from places far beyond Japan before jetting off again to do something new. Explore somewhere different. Occasionally, they would come home with a new child in their arms. Another “happy” accident turns into four others and five children waiting for parents that never seem to want to be their parents.

RELATIONSHIP(S)! Ran resents her parents a great deal. In fact, she rarely addresses them as such due to their consistent absences from both her and her siblings' lives. She is, however, the most like their parents. She loathes these comparisons and pointedly will say that she, at the very least, doesn’t disappear for years out of selfishness.
