Hello, Mike and Will shippers. I have never used this website before, so excuse me for any errors or mistakes.

I would like to address a problem that has been going on.

Mike and Will developing a romantic relationship will never happen, my friends.

I sincerely apologize. I just made this account today—after Noah informed me—and I’ve been scrolling through this tag for quite some time. We are sorry, but, “Byler” was never written romantically in our writing room. Normally, me and Matt would have never agreed to spoil something huge like this, but after #bylerscript becoming Number 1 trending on Twitter, we had to say something. (We hope you enjoyed the van script, too!)

The reason I am addressing this is because this is getting out of hand. You all seem so confident of this pairing—and we do not want you to think we have “queerbaited” you. Yes; Will Byers is gay, and in love with Mike. The feelings however, are not requited. This ship has grown and grown in popularity that you are all not focusing on what’s really important. Our story. Our coming of age story with just enough science and second dimension monsters.

Mike and Jane—or as you call it, “Mileven” (along with these other silly names) is still in our story. But it is definitely not the main focus. As I and Matt had addressed before, the romance aspect of Stranger Things will no longer be a focus in season 5.

This is everything I've been trying to say. Well, except for number 7 because I don't know about that stuff.

The writing still leaves a LOT unanswered, especially with Mike. It's not a sure thing, of course, but little in life is. I'm more upset with how they handled Will's love, but I guess that's more a matter of him rationalizing it that way to minimize the hurt. As far as he's concerned, his love (yes, love, not a crush) is one-sided. I hate hearing him refer to it in the past-tense, though. There's no way he went from actively flirting (a whopping one single time) to having moved on from it in a single day.

Spoilers ahead

What was that. No, no, like genuinely. Are the duffers genuinely okay. Episode 5 and 6 were…okay. I guess. Corny dialogue but the plot was fine and getting cool. Episode 7? An actual joke. It was written like a shitpost fanfic by someone who never understood the show/hates it. Every. Character. Was just turned into absolute slop. There’s no heart put into this show anymore. Wills coming out scene? It could’ve been so SO much better with just a few fixes but no. I’m not even upset at byler not being canon, let’s put that aside. Why was EVERY character ever fucking mentioned in the scene. I promise you none of them had a clue about what the fuck Will was talking about and did NOT gaf. It should’ve been a heart to heart between Will, Joyce, and Jonathan. And in the finale, a real heart to heart with Mike about his feelings since they wanna go the “byler was totally never heavily hinted and basically advertised” route. They could have given us SOMETHING of substance. I’m TIRED of people still defending Mike’s character, saying if you dont like him now you just “dont understand” him. No. Because there’s NOTHING to understand. He’s not a character anymore. He’s a nothing burger that’s only being kept around because he was loved in season 1-2 and of course they can’t kill any members of the OG party. He’s a shitty friend, a shitty boyfriend to El, and shitty brother. So many irrelevant characters were brought in and focused on so much more than the characters people actually care about. Mike could’ve been a genuine, real fleshed out character if they had just given us some of his POV. Anything about how he feels. Even just some scenes lingering on his expressions more, some moments where the camera focused on him just alone, to make it seem like he was truly FEELING things but repressing them. A shot maybe lingering on his distressed expression, like he’s holding back tears or frustration, but nothing. Finn didn’t even make up for it. He’s just there for the paycheck and had no soul. But don’t get it twisted. I love Mike. I love what Mike could have been if the duffers didn’t fuck it up. Because Mike had so, so much potential. Aside from Byler, but I’ll get to that in a minute. He had so much potential to be a character that represses his emotions and trauma, suffering in silence in fear he will be judged by the people around him, maybe even struggling with hiding feelings he feels are wrong for a certain someone…but nope. He’s just useless. Just there to be there.

Now. Byler.

I’ve given up any hope on it. To those that truly think there’s still a chance in the finale, you have so much more strength than I do. Props to you. I love all the bylers. But I beg please, please dont set yourself up for even more disappointment. Because I promise ain’t shit happening by the way this seasons been written. Will’s sexuality or his feelings for Mike probably wont be brought up a single time in the finale. I’m not even hoping for an epilogue boyfriend, since judging by how the duffers just love making the queer boy suffer, he probably won’t even get a happy ending like that either. Oh well, surely just accepting yourself by outing yourself in a room of most people you barely even fucking know in THE 80s is a better story to tell. Absolutely. That was the biggest “fuck you” to the queer community. But fine. Call us Bylers delusional if it makes you feel better. Because the set up was there, the potential, the absolute monumental of a storyline and plot twist was there. The duffers just pussied out. Cowards. Worst letdown and queerbait of all time. I just hope the finale has a satisfying wrap up for the things with the upside down and defeating Vecna. If El dies im sueing. They better not kill my queen

PSA: Yesterday & Moving Forward

Thank you to everyone that reblogged our reporting, we really appreciate it. What happened to Ethan yesterday was absolutely unacceptable, and more than just getting that account deleted, we wanted to recognize that 1) harassment happened and 2) we are not going to tolerate it.

I think a lot of us are upset at the fact someone in our community found a way to try and taint this safe space we've created, and I just want to remind everyone that this is to have fun!! And the last thing that guy's gonna get is the satisfaction of us losing that.

The next article is going to launch in twenty minutes or so. It's been an absolute pleasure to make this, and I mean it's been a real Project. Unlike previous things I'd shared here, this absolutely took my creative soul out of me and made it dance like a maniac for two days, but I'm so so proud of it, and I hope everyone gets to have fun with what it launches.

I will list and thank all collaborators in the next post, but... yeah. Holy shit. I hope everyone gets to love this, I think I've totaled to 28 hours of me with my laptop opened while designing, and writing, and editing, and planning. I mean, you're going to see it, but it was a lot haha. It was... bothering me that the other thing was trying to be a newspaper but it didn't look like one, so that began the challenge to make that work.

Which. Led to me designing it with a Canva website and using my previous experience working with newspaper archives to offer you something that behaves like one. Let it be known that on our day off, @lesbianestrobin and I spent hours discussing our next steps, and we're excited to show you what we've cooked up for you.
