just realized that if their actions in the newsletter are anything to go by, it's actually entirely plausible for them to all be mike at the same time in the same room, just like in this drawing. exactly as I planned all along (lie)

#it's not entirely wise for me to base my understanding of anything on battat's actions #he did seem to think the solution to Tenna walking in was for all three of them to be in costume #implying that three mikes in one room is somehow less of a giveaway than just mike and two randos #but again let's remind ourselves who we're dealing with here. he might just be stupid

still thinking about the mike cutscene from the newsletter. Kris isn't even in the room!!! how are we seeing this!!! I can't remember any other time we've been able to see into another room just by standing outside, even when it's implied that Kris is peeking into the room. there have actually been multiple times where we're prompted to peek into a room and it just gives us a text description of what's inside.

but then if it's not Kris peeking into the room, then WHO'S KNOCKING!!! because on top of that, kris doesn't really have any reason to be knocking when they already know the door code. i mean, maybe they're just being polite though.

and if I may cite the texts, we know kris canonically has an amateur knock from that one NPC!!!

amateur and glooby aren't the same thing, I just thought it was worth noting. the parallels.

anyways. there is ONE case I can think of where we can see what's going on without kris around, and that's when Ralsei tells us to think about someone else while he talks to Kris. but I don't think we've ever been able to actually see anyone but Susie while doing that. we just get a text description without visuals. and one could argue that's just because the Susie options are actually plot relevant and worth fleshing out into a whole cutscene, but then!!! what would that say about this one!!! why would the MIKES be getting a whole cutscene!!!! why would it be important enough!!! and then, once again, if we ARE with ralsei imagining the mike room for Some Reason, WHO'S KNOCKING!!! because that means it's also not ralsei and probably not susie either!!!! who is it!!!

there's also chapter 4, when we're separated from Kris, but then the soul is still visible to us the whole time. except for when it's under the little angel decoration. but the mike room is so comically empty and featureless that there's nowhere we could possibly be hiding, save for like, the ball of yarn.
