who up thinking about how the story was teribble to Caithe for being under the literal control of a FUCKING ELDER DRAGON vs them giving Rytlock a light slap on the wrist [if that, even] for freeing a genocidal god of his own free will just to relight a sword. LOL!!!!!

Like, caithe makes a mistake because of A FUCKING ELDER DRAGON!!!!!, is threatened with death, and when she tries to apologize the PC is angry with her a year after it happened. rytlock makes a mistake and is forgiven instantly.

They literally tried to write Caithe as this morally gray character but the problem with it, she's never been wrong. Because how was she supposed to trust Dragon's watch that's been together for five minutes, destiny's edge didn't talk for years. And her lover started the Night court.

Her getting the egg to the sanctuary was her goal.

Everyone's reaction to her..... was weird. The PC should have known better especially since you see her memories.

sjms depictions of poverty is so stereotypical and unrealistic and also not correct? the way shes hunting? not field dressing the deer? GUTTING the deer on the TABLE after dragging it in from the forest?

"currying" meat instead of CURING MEAT? also doing THAT wrong. not being able to make tea? not having any kind of community or bartering system in that fuckass village.

insinuating feyre did every single thing ever but also you see nesta do shit but ALSO somehow feyre just does eeeeverything?

realistically they'd be dead that first fucking winter if poor baby feyre had to do ALLLLLLL of this by herself while her 2 mean, mean selfish sisters were twiddling their thumbs and stared at the ceiling for the last like 6 years

also feyre cant cook at all (book 2) but she talks about making pies and various foods (book 1) but its canonical nesta CAN cook? also lol let's be for real feyre does not do any fucking housework at ALL so it falls on her sisters bec shes fucking around in the woods

sjm wrote feyres time in the village based on vibes and her upper middle class brain was like "gee how can I portay poverty in a small town without doing a LICK of research on the matter"

Hey so you realize that's to show Feyres immaturity. Right? Like it's to show that her emotions paint how she sees the world thus how we are experiencing the story. Like all first person narratives.

The only cooking we see her do is smoking the meat. We know she can't cook. She talks about yet Nesta is the only one that can cook or bake. She talks about Nesta not having friends, yet we see her talking to women in the village, and literally gives Clair's name "Nesta's friend"

All of these are to show the reader that what Feyre is saying isn't necessarily true. It's true to only her. She doesn't like Nesta so no one else should. She feels like she's doing everything so no one else is doing anything.

It's a character flaw. Well written characters should have them.

hey baby so u know that the way she writes these particular scenes would actually show theyd be DEAD in real life because the way she handles the meat is factually incorrect and it could have spoiled

its been WELL OVER FIVE YEARS and theyre in extreme poverty. in that time if they didnt buy a damn clue THEY WOULD HAVE ALL BEEN DEAD

sjm did not INTENTIONALLY write shit WRONG because feyre is a god damn idiot. she didnt do her damn research with how poverty actually works, and she also didnt do her research regarding hunting and meat preparation

Hey sugar honey mufffie pie, the way she handles meats, which I have on this very account addressed is insane and something that a self taught hunter would do. And is literally the reason for Nesta crash out. Because she didn't field dress the dear.

And no it wouldn't har spoiled it was fucking snowing, it takes hours in temps above 40 degrees..... which is the warmest it could be with it snowing.

Do you know it would take more than 2-3 hours which she comes in guts the deer in the fucking house, rookie move, which she is one, then she smokes the rest.

So no they all wouldn't have died because Nesta fucking cleaned.

So no SJM didn't write it poorly. You just don't like Feyre. And might I suggest read a different series.

Nothing pisses me off more than Tamlin widows acting like he's the most pure of heart dude because he laughs at her when she asks if he owned slaves or not.....

Mind you it wasn't even his father that owned slaves it was also his brothers so someone in his direct family line, in his immediate family, of his generation owned slaves on the land they're sitting on. It's really interesting to me that SJM had to retcon the entire first book to villainise Tamlin. That she still reminds us every few chapters how BAD Tamlin is, and he's still somehow... Not that bad at all.

Meanwhile the same books spend PARAGRAPHS upon paragraphs trying to excuse Rhysand's questionable actions. Honestly I would've loved this man if it wasn't for the constant narrative coddling that started in ACOMAF and j kept getting worse. But then again I think that's what happens when u try to convince people ur morally grey MMC is actually morally perfect.
