After getting an offer to buy the local bakery in her hometown, she jumps at the chance. But going back means she’ll have to face people she’s been avoiding, including her new roommate, Lucien Vanserra.

If the Azriel bonus chapter is not to be considered canon or have any crumbs in regards to shipping (mind you, SJM has said it does) that means that it cannot be said that Elain and Azriel have mutual attraction.

We cannot just disregard the last part of the bonus chapter if we’re considering the first part. It must be considered as a whole. And if we look at it from start to finish, it started with Azriel feeling shameful about his feelings with Elain and ended with him feeling a spark at the thought of Gwyn’s smile.

He didn’t “know what was wrong with her”, he discovered she’s a seer, which isn’t that significant considering Cassian didn’t know “what was wrong” with Nesta until Rhys went into her nightmare and told them all what her power was.

Also, it was Lucien who told them to take her outside, to take her to some garden. And then Azriel did what her mate told them too, after the fact.

“You have no idea what you just started,” she said. Az angled his head, hazel eyes narrowing as Gwyn reached the archway.

Also, threshers are iconic for their faces because it just always looks like they're saying "what... the fuck" and honestly? Is that not Lucien? He's seen some shit! In Spring. UTM. Whatever BS is happening in Night. Free him and the thresher shark from the horrors!

Everyone that reads Sarah’s books should know by now that this purity first love, first sexual experience mess doesn’t fly in her books. She literally spits in the face of it. But yet one of the arguments e|riels LOVE to throw around all the time is Gwyn isn’t Azriel’s first choice. Why do you want that for Gwyn? Blah blah blah. They are right, she wouldn’t be his first choice. But guess what? Elain isn’t his first choice either. Are they forgetting Azriel spending 5 CENTURIES waiting for Mor. The Morrigan was his FIRST choice. Azriel wouldn’t even be Elain’s first choice either. That would be Graysen.

It’s not about who first, it’s about who’s RIGHT.

She’s a SEER, she likely has additional powers that we’re not aware of yet.

Her story is going to be bigger than whether or not she rejects the bond.

I want it to be bigger than that.

I absolutely love the "teasing" dynamic in the books.

So... there's Azriel telling Gwyn they didn't bother getting a prize because there was no chance at all of them finishing the course.
