dude im sorry but the ‘love triangle’ in the naturals series is SO forced.

im currently on killer instinct and michael and cassie give have zero chemistry. everytime cassie and michael have a nice, completely unromantic moment cassie brings up her feelings for michael and its just SOOOO FORCED because there is no chemistry there and im like 90% sure michael gave cassie a potion that makes her feel this way because i swear to you there’s nothing there. i honestly dont get cassie x michael shippers because I DONT SEE ANYTHING THERE. i read the first book a while ago and like im not sure if there was any chemistry between them in the first book but there definitely isnt any in this now. i really hope they dont drag this out until the last book bruh. it makes me so mad because i like dean and cassie and michael always interrupts and ruins it which is actually making me dislike michael a bit.

Cassie’s POV

Okay, don’t get me wrong, I like Cassie but her perspective is SOOOO limiting. I really need a Lia POV or honestly anybody else. I feel like there’s so many unanswered questions because Cassie doesn’t notice or ask questions about it. (No, I’m not just bitter because we barely see the Michaelia dynamic from Cassie’s POV). Plus, because the books are centered around her and we only know her thoughts, we don’t get to unpack as much about the others. Why do I still know nothing about Lia despite 4.5 books where she’s an alleged main character? Even Striggs don’t get page time. Plus, I’m really tired of Cassie’s mom 😮‍💨

jumbled thoughts bc i wrote this in one sitting so excuse any grammar or poorly worded things

yeah i definitely do believe they love eachother, especially michael loving lia while im not the biggest michaelia shipper i do think their dynamic and what makes their relationship work is really interesting. both michael and lia are people who hide their true feelings a lot and bc of the others naturals gifts being lie detector and emotion reader it leaves both of them vulnerable in a way they aren’t ever really with anyone else which leads them to being assholes to eachother bc they’re uncomfortable with the concept of confronting their emotions and problems lmao

the reason their relationship is so tumultuous and has these high ups and very low downs is because they can’t fully control what they hide from the other, which leads them to lashing out in various ways bc they don’t know like being so vulnerable and open to someone. so when either of them are feeling that way they start ‘acting out’ to turn their relationship off and they can be ‘distant’ from the other so they can gain some of that sense of security again.

and then for fun reasons they’re also pretty similar like they like things like parties, breaking the rules, causing trouble which make them gravitate to the other since dean sloane and cassie are either goody two shoes or aren’t the best at causing havoc. and michael being rich bonus points for lia im sure

ironically enough that also makes them eachother safety nets because they do take eachother back. even if they’re scared of being vulnerable they know that they can be cruel and mean but still won’t lose that relationship. it’s not healthy but lia and michael don’t exactly have good concept of healthy relationships. they’ve seen eachother at their worse, been pretty horrible to eachother but both still love eachother despite that. which is another big reason i think they love eachother, so many people have not loved them bc of their flaws or their love hinged on not expressing those flaws and the fact that they both care and love eachother despite it and even because of it is comforting for them. both their concepts of love and what a relationship is is fucked up! i can see michael’s specifically being messed up bc his main examples, his parents seem to be extremely distant and when they aren’t they’re probably arguing.

i think they got back together in all bc it honestly seems like they tend to get back together when one of them is confronted with something from their past they can’t repress or ignore for any longer. this relationship like i mentioned earlier is a safety net, being in the relationship and dating is a distraction whatever they’re actually trying to ignore or a outlet, a way to shift their negative feelings to be about the relationship. they’re eachother biggest enablers lowkey

i’m not surprised they’re still on and off in twelve bc atp the issue isn’t that, “oh does the other love me”, it’s more neither of them have done enough therapy to be in a committing relationship and be willingly vulnerable so they’re sticking to what they’re used to and what feels safe which is dating when it’s fun and breaking up when it gets too vulnerable hashtag Get michael and lia therapy 2026. i also do think in twelve specifically the long distance was a factor

anyway they’re able to do all this bullshit bc they do love each other and have a deep understanding of the other bc they’re very similar which. makes them a good pair? bc they’re a bad pair? does that make sense

Lia is "too toxic" for Michael?

I will never understand people who act like Lia is "too toxic" for Michael. Absolutely not. If anything, Michael is arguably worse to her because the sheer number of shots he takes at her is wild.

Blatantly and aggressively pursuing Cassie right in front of Lia’s face from the second she arrived.

The whole truth or dare scene where he asked for Lia's real name. He knew it was an incredibly sensitive, traumatic topic for her, and he weaponized it anyway.

When he jumped in to pseudo defend Cassie after Lia was upset about the Dean situation in Killer Instinct. He should have stayed silent because she was already upset about Dean shutting her out.

I get that Cassie was in immediate danger at the party, so abandoning Lia there is a minor offense (even tho it was very angsty for me). But he sidelined Lia the entire day, didn't look at her in the car, and was annoyed with her afterwards (sure, she was rage-baiting him, but still).

To this day, I will never understand why he wouldn't clarify that Celine was just a friend. The intentional vagueness was cruel.

The in five seconds scene. Lia was pushing his buttons a bit during a complicated time but she was feeling rightfully insecure.

The "longer and better than i've loved you" line. This STUNG even though he didn't mean it the way it came off.

There's definitely more offenses but these are the main ones. In contrast, what exactly did Lia do to him that is so bad in canon? Don't get me wrong, they're both toxic, but Michael is worse to her (from what we've seen so far) and I just don't see why people would think otherwise. Please enlighten me.
