general gregor headcanons

🫧gregor has such atrocious self-esteem that you are undoubtedly going to have to be the one to take the first real step. he's fond of you in a way that he isn't with the other sinners, in a way that he usually isn't with anybody (at least that's gone anywhere), but he has no intentions of acting on it because he can't fathom the idea of you returning his feelings

🫧you have to take things slow with gregor. he'll come around eventually, but much more subtle, fleeting forms of affection are best at first-- even if they leave him longing for more. your hand brushing his as you walk, or your pinkies briefly linking. the first time you kiss him on the cheek, he turns bright red and chokes on the smoke from the cigarette he'd been puffing on. once you slowly warm him up to it, he really likes to drape his arm over your shoulders or even let you lean your head against him. he still greatly prefers to see you coming, so no bear hugs from behind or anything of that sort, but he doesn't mind you initiating a loose hug every now and then, though he probably won't. he's usually either the little spoon, or you can sleep with your head on his chest. the arm makes cuddling a bit of a process to get used to, once he finally works up to the point of being able to sleep in the same bed

🫧speaking of the arm, just don't bring it up unless he does first. he typically chooses to either ignore it in a form of faux acceptance. it's not like you're walking on eggshells or anything, but you regarding it with neutrality is the best thing for him; it's there and there's no purpose in pretending it isn't, but pointing it out doesn't help either.

🫧gregor can yap, but he's also a good person to seek out when you need to talk. he offers you a safe place to just vent, and if you really want advice he can try... or direct you to someone who might be able to actually help. either way, you're pretty safe from judgement with him. he cares for you, and he wants to be there in any way he can. it feels reciprocal to him in a way; he'll always feel like he needs to pay you back in some way for simply being with him

🫧definitely a quality time sort of guy. he doesn’t care what the two of you do, but he really just likes to have some chill alone time to just be. grab some takeout, a pack of cigarettes, listen to his stories and tell him yours. he'll be the happiest bug in the city.

🫧he craves a normal life, or whatever version of that he could have in the city. he knows that he could, potentially, find that with you... but he also worries that he'll prevent you from having it. the stares, the constant reminders of the war, the fact that at any time his arm could react and hurt you. gregor feels like he's just dragging you down with him

🫧i touched on this in the poly headcanons but i can't see gregor using many petnames, aside from the occasional "liebling" or "babe" when it's just the two of you. not picky about what you call him! honestly kind of flattered to get called by terms of endearment at all

gregor is someone that is always waiting for the other shoe to drop. he waits for everything to go downhill, to make a stupid mistake, even if he tries to brush it off with a cynical laugh. you have to assure him that you're capable of making your own decisions and knowing what you want, enough to really hammer it in. he's not always the best at expressing it, but he truly is grateful for you, and he's getting better at accepting your relationship as a real, stable thing

General dating headcannons for Heathcliff

Guess who will be today’s guest for the general headcannons, of course. IT IS HEATHCLIFF.

The thing about this man is the fact that he is rough with everyone. Rough and mean. He is also rough and mean with you, you are not the exception.

You’re working as a sinner. Life is good, you don’t get paid and you have to deal with 13 sinners on top of that. Luxury.

Whatever, that is not on our topic for today, maybe for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Heathcliff is a tough man outside but a sweetheart inside. An absolute one on top of things. 

This man is very proud of him finding you. You’re bright, the light to his shadow, the one who can really trust his feelings with. He is so fond of you. I can’t explain it with words but this is the best representation I could come up with. 

The thing is, he can also get pretty jealous at times. Because of his complicated past and the fact that he had to deal with racism, abuse and so on he tends to overthink things. 

Here we are not talking about the freaky jealous stuff. We are just talking about him inching a little bit closer to you, holding your waist when you’re talking with another person, basically showing off that you’re his while trying to hide his feelings.

He is also a loser. A very big one on top of things. If you were to gift him something, let’s say a big teddy bear he would 100% die on the spot and just not work at all? It is complicated but just so you know, he is very thankful of that gift he received. He is proudly displaying that gift in his room on his bed and will cuddle it at night (it gone so bad the teddy started to smell like him). It is just a gift but Heathcliff is Heathcliff. He WILL give you something in return, that’s guaranteed.

What about affection, hugs, kisses and things like that? His main love language is acts of service (I believe) . He thinks that he has to make up for the fact that you’re his and accepted him as a normal person (and not calling him an idiot and stuff like that). He would still hug and maybe kiss you if you ask for it but still expect him to blush a little bit afterwards (and call you a little twit). 

Run your hand in his hair. Just do it. Pat him , play with his hair, anything. Anything works. But do it in private, just in private , he does not like it when you do it in public since it shows his vulnerable side and he does NOT want to be seen as such. His hair is suprinsingly not as damaged as we thought and a little bit soft too, you will probably get addicted to running your hand through his hair.

When you do it in private, he will 100% tell you to ‘’stop doing it’’ or stuff similar to it. Don’t stop, he really enjoys your touch and that’s just him being a complete loser and denying the truth again. He will inch closer to your touch and maybe fall asleep. He would also look at you with those purple eyes of his. It looks like a pout and you can see his pupils being dilated a little bit, that is just his way of telling you that he enjoys it. 

When you stop petting him he would still (forcefully or not) grab your hand and keep it on his head. Maybe you will get reminded to do it, maybe not. It depends on you now.

His dilated pupils will also appear when you give him a little bit more affection that he needed. Smooch him, keep on kissing him and you will have this man trying to avoid eye contact while dying on the inside. He cannot handle mentally this amount of affection.

The bad part about his love language is that he would do anything for you. Yes I mean anything (canto 6 is a good example even though I haven’t played it yet). He would put his life on the line if it meant you being safe and alive. Even though Dante exists, they aren’t enough, he still has to keep you safe at all times. What if Dante cannot bring you back? What if you will end up dead because of him? He cannot live with the thought of you being dead and him not saving you from it. That’s why he overthinks stuff a lot and would sacrifice himself. All for you, everything for you.

He would of course be with you at all times. Always within your mere presence. You cannot get rid of him. He will say something along the lines of you being safe at all times. Which is partially true but he also enjoys spending time with you and your mere existence just makes his heart go crazy.

Nicknames? Nah. But he will absolutely refuse to call you something vulgar. He will refuse to refer to you with something as bad as that. The thing is, he will still reffer to others with something vulgar (like calling them pieces of shit), he isn't ashamed at all but with you? Never. When asked about you he will just say the truth about you both being together but he would also say about how proud he is to have you in his life. 

He teasingly calls you ‘’little twit’’ or ‘’little thief’’ when you tease him. He knows when you do it and will 100% do it back to you while pinching your cheek . Not hard enough to hurt of course, but he still does it. For funsies. (and to get a reaction out of you)

Maybe, if he feels like it , he might call you ‘’love’’. That’s it. 

If he overthinks on that day (which happens , not a lot but it still counts) expect him to come in your private chamber and just hold you. He will not tell you why did he overthink or why did he do that but it is self explanatory. You’re the only one that he allows to share his sensitive side.

Ask him if he feels okay when he does this to you. It’s like a coin flip. 50% chance to tell you what happened and the other 50% in which he refuses. If he refuses,  leave him be, do not insist or he will lash out on you and make you both feel bad. If he does this (which is NOT regularly but it still happens when he felt extra mad that day) you will surely wake up with an apologizing Heathcliff and him promising that he will never do that, trained by Dante themselves but he still did it in his own way.

If he doesn’t refuse then comfort him, tell him that everything is okay and that you’re there for him. Reassure him. Be there with him. He is complicated and it takes a long time to him to warm up to you but wait patiently. He will open up when he feels like it’s time for him to do that.

Now for the end, dates. What does the typical date look like with him? 100% something romantic. You with him in the park sitting on a bench or just him getting you to a restaurant. Even though he is broke he saved up and afforded it eventually. (in a mirror world possibly I do not know). At this point he is just happy to have you and he will make sure that you feel the same with him.  

In the end, Heathcliff is an absolute loser but a lovable one. Cherish him and take care of him like he does with you.

Basically, this man is a loser.

You dating him? You out of nowhere chose him? A worthless person like him? That’s literally his POV when you started dating at first.

He's easily one of the bestest friends you could ever wish for. He would lend you a cig (if you smoke), he would listen and give you advice if you rant about something (just don’t bring up his past trauma) etc.

The friendship just started as usual work colleagues. You both did some small talk, fought together etc. And then it got to this. 

You have to ask him out first because he is scared of rejection and making you hate him.

When you wanted to go out with him , he would be FLABBERGASTED. You picked him out of every sinner in the bus.

It isn’t that he doesn’t like the idea, instead he accepts it and spends the rest of the day being happy and giddy about it. Someone amazing wanted to go out with him.

Anyway, let's get back to the subject. How would he act when you both are dating?

So first, he craves attention. He just wants it. He is touch-starved so of course he wants it. The problem is, his bug arm.

Because of his bug arm that loses control because of strong emotions , he fears that you might get hurt by it. Also because of his self-depreciation, insecurity and blah blah blah. He is just paranoid.

Don’t get me wrong, if you’re clingy then he is okay with it, just reassure him that you won’t get hurt because of his cockroachy (?) arm and you can offer him as much love as you want. 

He WILL rest against your shoulder. Let him , please.

He also might kiss you back in return if you take the initiative.

In public the most he will do is hold your hand or in rare occasions , kiss your cheek.

He won’t act the same though, he’d be a bit more shy or more talkative about you. If he hears your name being mentioned, he lends in an ear (not in a creepy way). He’s also paying more attention to what you’re saying than he does with others.

What about in private? How does he show his affection in private?

He will change slightly but still remain the same. He doesn’t give much affection in private either. 

Yes, he might try and tease you (and fail miserably) but hey, at least he tried.

Cuddles? He’s all for it. He’ll make sure that whenever he’s cuddling you he will be the small spoon. He also makes sure to not hurt you using the sharp parts from his bug arm

Does he call you by nicknames? Kind of. Yeah, he doesn't call you german nicknames (to everyone’s disappointment).  BUT, he might call you love and/or babe sometimes. Just don’t expect it much.

What about the “I love you”?

He says it when he’s feeling needy or when you both share a comfortable moment (such as cuddling, or hell, him resting on your shoulder). Though he says it in a whisper most of the time.

Gregor will feel jealous if you talk with others because of his insecurity and it happens relatively often. He fears that you might leave him for someone better. He can’t help but think, why did you choose him out of everyone?

Though, he won’t snap at you. He isn’t that type of person to do so. He’ll just sulk his jealousy in and distance himself.

Arguments don’t tend to happen and if they do, he’ll make it up by buying a bouquet and apologizing. He doesn’t want to lose the one that actually saw him as a person and not as a weapon.

He’ll be insecure and keep his feelings inside. Make sure you comfort him, give him the reassurance that he needs and treat him well. He’ll still overthink and distance himself from you sometimes but reassure him , comfort him, hold him close, just, do it. He loves you

The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who weren’t throwing enough 3D roses.

Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshi’s turn to speak.

He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audience… and shook his head.

“I can see not all of you are eating properly.”

The crowd murmured with embarrassment.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.

“The food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sun’s rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.

“Eat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.”

Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. “Is he really like that?” somebody said. “I only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.”

Back in the Green Room, Tenna wrung his antennas nervously.

“Y-y-you think they liked me!? They HAD to!! I mean, I don’t know what Asgore was thinking, getting that weird haircut and running that food waste campaign, but… YOU thought I did good, didn’t you, Kris?”

Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.

“You did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that we’ve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if she’s a dinosaur or --”

THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laios’s head.

“LAIOS?? Weren’t we dressed up to help SENSHI???” Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.

Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.

“Hey, WAIT a second. SOMETHING’s not right here...”

Laios and Marcille held their breath.

“Where the heck are my POINTS!?”

Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.

Everyone turned to him.

Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.

“CHILCHUCK!!!” yelled Tenna.

“How come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?” yelled Marcille at the same time.
