Do you know what Star Wars Destiny is? It’s a collectible card game. In the game there are Hero cards and Villain cards. When you put a team together, you can have only all Heroes or Villains. They just released spoilers on a new set of cards tho. This set includes a Rey character card who is Hero and a Kylo character card who is Villain. It also includes a special card that just says, You may play a team with both Kylo Ren and Rey on it. It’s the only Hero/Villain crossing in the game.

In my opinion, Ben isn’t training Rey here. They’re training together for something.

Ben and Rey are equals. Rey doesn’t need a teacher, she needs a partner—and that’s what Ben will be for her.

Someone at the subreddit StarWarsSpeculation theorized that the unused concept art from TFA where Rey slices up a Star Destroyer from an X Wing is now being used for TRoS.

So this makes perfect sense to me that this is what they’re training for. It explains why the lightsaber is ignited and why they would have to train because of how difficult something like this would be to pull off.
