But still, his smile did go down for a while, before he sat next to her.

“… There’s lots of things which happened while you were asleep, Miss Flandre. I could tell you, but… maybe it’s best if you talk to Miss Remilia about it?“

“Yeah, like the bears do! They sleep for a long time too, right?” She seems satisfied with her own answer, grinning to herself-- but the smile dissipates just as soon as it had came as Eri sat next to her.

“...I know. Big sis told me. Sakuya’s gone...” She tries to crack a smile just so she wouldn’t feel so heartbroken herself, but it just wouldn’t come, angry tears brimming in her eyes instead. “...I thought she was always going to be there for us. For big sis, especially.”

“I know an alternate that is still around, but for the rest? I haven’t seen them in ages. We would at least need another Flandre to make a genuine four of a kind before we all clone ourselves to be 16 Flandres.”

“I’m sure we’ll find another one of us somewhere! THEN we can make an army! Though, I thought we’d have a lot more of ourselves than that.” 

Flandre hums to herself thoughtfully.

“Do you think we could modify that spell so we have even more clones? ‘Cause if we’re gonna take down the shrine maiden, I think we’ll need a lot more than 16 of us!”

Yes, he used to be Flandre’s personal maid, just like how Sakuya was with Remilia. He was supposed to attend to her personal needs like cooking, laundry, and the like, but…

“… I tried waking you up for the longest time, but your door was locked. Miss Remilia told me not to enter, and I was worried… Are you okay?”

“Oh, I’m fine! I just was tired. Really tired. I guess the best word to describe it would be hibernating. Do vampires do that? Do vampires hibernate? I guess we do now, ‘cause that’s what I did.” 

“I wonder why she told you not to go in, though... it’s not like I was having a fit or anything.”

Well, this was going to be sudden, and maybe a little hard to explain, but she was possibly the most important person you had around the Mansion at the moment.

Not to leave aside the rest of residents, but your sister has always been the closest person to you here.

“Well, for one, I don’t know if you were around when I lost the 90% of the fairy maids. You will notice that the Mansion is emptier thanks to that…but that is probably not the most important part…” Making a pause, you clenched your fists and then tried to relax your body by flapping your wings- letting your previously closed hands on your hips.

“I got divorced…and Sakuya is gone…well, that Sakuya in particular, anyways…but, yes…it’s pretty recent so…maybe you didn’t wake up at the best timing.” Even if you let that out pretty straightforwardly, it was obvious by your tone of voice that you were hurt. After all, you’ve been trying to keep yourself distracted since.

Her previously bright expression quickly turns crestfallen, shock and sadness spreading over her facial features.

“What... what do you mean, you got divorced? What do you mean, Sakuya is gone? She can’t be gone! She was always here for us!” There’s a note in Flandre’s voice that is either one of anger or panic; frankly, it’s hard to tell which after receiving such sudden and devastating news.

“And the fairy maids, too..? Why? Why did everyone leave?!”

“Want to join me and Vicky’s Flandre army? Vicky is her middle name, by the way. Mine is Ruth.”

She doesn’t seem to mind the hills of cash at all, though she is trying to slip a few coins into her pocket. Flandre, no.

“We could all take over Gensokyo!”

“Eri!” 

Her face lights up seeing him, grinning as she accepts the tea. 

“It’s been so long!”

The serious tone of her sister’s voice makes Flandre take pause, hands dropping to her side (and also dropping the handful of dirt she was holding to the floor).

“A-Ah?…Ruth!?…” Well, this was rather sudden. It’s not like you forgot her, but you’ve met so many alternates since, that you didn’t expect her to come back all of a sudden!

Awkwardly looking down and passing a hand by the back of your neck to rub it, you couldn’t help but burst into laugh after a few seconds of silence.

“God, you really had to come back in this kind of way, didn’t you? I’ve actually missed you! So I really hope we’re gonna try to start that trouble now that you mentioned it.”

Ruth can’t seem to take this whole thing seriously anymore either, bursting into a fit of laughter herself that almost has her doubling over on the floor.

“Your FACE! You really did miss me, huh? I was wondering if you’d figure it out on your own, but I think your expression just now made me having to tell you completely worth it~”

“But yeah! Now that I’m back, we need to go round up all the other versions of us and start as much trouble as possible! It’s going to be great!”
