My first Teutonic Rover! I wonder why the Germans didn't take to these in their droves...
An exquisite boxy 200 in Lisbon - I feel a trip to Portugal coming on...
Roverspotting is really taking off, my mate saw this on a backstreet in Tarragona. A 200 coupé (not tomcat) is a sight to behold.
A rather regal Rover 75 residing in a underground car park in Granada. If you look closely you might notice that she has a slight oil leak... My colleague found this one for me - Roverspotting is catching on. Other spots without pictures were a 45 in Olde English White in Granada and a very rare square 218sldi on the autovia south of Madrid.
Spain is a real haven for these bastions of British engineering, the climate helps keep the tin worm at bay. A 25 on the streets of Granada. I saw a chiselled 200 blasting out some tunes on my run the other morning but didn’t have my phone with me to take a snap.
I don’t want this blog to be about Minis and other iconic British cars but I had to take a picture of this one as it was made during the AustinRover years.
Beautiful Rover 75 in aubergine in the small wine producing town of Pezinok east of Bratislava
Rover 400 in Bratislava, I had a 420 GSDi as my first car. Lovely torquey diesel with pleather seats and a sun roof, those were the days - I think she might have been scrapped now 😢
I shouldn’t have these here really as they were found on a street in New Cross, South London - but it’s such a treat to see two Maestros (one in van mode) next to each other! I think the owner of these two might be my hero…
Rover 200 coupé, widely known by its code name of Tomcat. Saw this in Acantilados de los Gigantes in Tenerife near the port. She was a bit beaten up and I think had the 1.8 k series in. My mate wouldn’t stop for a better pic 😞. I was obsessed with these when I was younger and desperately wanted a pre facelift turbo (in fact I still would...)
A 25 papped from my car in Tenerife
A Mk1 Freelander also in Novi Pazar.
A Rover 25 Streetwise in Novi Pazar, a small town in southern Serbia just north of the Kosovan border. This is the car that started it all, why is it here?!
