Cal wasn’t particularly notorious for being able to function all that well when he was half asleep, and he’d been well on his way to dozing off again when Rowan left the room. Even drowsiness couldn’t keep him from noting the distress in her voice, however, and he sat bolt upright as she spoke to him, eyebrow quirked and ready to talk about anything she wanted to talk about if it meant she wouldn’t cry. He finally nodded slowly, mind racing to every direction it could possibly go as he attempted to tease out any hint of what she’d want to talk to him about. “Of course, babe. What’s up?” He patted the space next to him on the bed for good measure, reaching up to rub the sleep out of his eyes as thoroughly as he could manage before he turned his attention back to Rowan.
Rowan nodded and stared at the spot next to Cal that he had just motioned for her to sit in. She wasn’t sure if she should, if she could. The brunette had never told anyone about her condition. Not Tony, not Jasmin, not Lola, nobody. Only her parents and herself knew, and past that, she was just never comfortable enough, or it never seemed important enough. However she knew if her and Cal were really doing this, really getting together again, they might end up married and if they ended up married, Cal would have to know she couldn’t have children. Finally Rowan walked closer, sitting down hesitantly on the bed beside him. “I haven’t been honest with you- at all.” She started, swearing at herself internally she looked at the ceiling blinking back tears. “In fact, I was lying to you our entire previous relationship...”
