marinaxohara:
If anybody could describe Mariana, they would never use the word sensitive. And she wouldn’t be surprise if nobody ever did. She understand how people will react to the news of being put into a witness protection program. Hell, she even remembers how her mother reacted to the news. But she was never the type to be sensitive unless it was about certain topics. She was more of the type of person that needed to tell people the hard truth no matter what. In this case with Roxy, she wanted to explain in the best way possible. And the only way was fast and yet hard to hear. But it didn’t stop Mariana because she needed to let her witness know the full risk of being apart of the witness protection club.
It took everything that Mariana had to not roll her eyes during Roxy’s speech, it wasn’t anything she never heard before. A witness first thought is about their family and friends before thinking about themselves. She always thought it was funny how people think about others before themselves. But she wouldn’t be the one to talk since it’s her job to look after and protect others. But still, it was hard having to hear the same speech every time. It was even harder to tell these witness about how their lives will change.
Mariana crosses her arms over her chest as she looks down at Roxy. She was hoping it wouldn’t take her years to figure out what she wanted to do. Even though, she wouldn’t mind giving her a day to think things over but still, it’s easier when they figure it out in the beginning. She gives her a small smile as she sits back down across from her. She opens her mouth to speak before hearing about her conditions. “Okay, I’m listening.” She told her after a moment. She leans back in the chair as she listens to her conditions. She thinks it’s over before speaking. “I will agree with those conditions. The only condition I have is, listen to everything I tell you do. Well, I guess not everything but I think you get what I mean right? If so, it’s a deal.” She tells her as she puts her hand out to shake.
Roxy knew that this deal went too easy somehow, and hence why she was wary about further steps. This stranger police woman just kept on telling her what to do --- and Roxy hated this. A brow arched but she kept silent for now, only nodding ahead. Well, giving her the hand would seal the deal but she was not ready for that yet. “I feel like there’s going to be a big but. You better tell me now before I find out differently later. That would suck so much, trust me.” She wasn’t trying to be a threat, simply truthful.
The two of them in a witness program --- it didn’t look like this was the best idea. Roxy imagined the woman across of her as strict, hardass and stubborn. Along with many other things, but those were not relevant right now. But would she lie? She could not detect this from her behaviour so far. It was too early to tell those things.
After some more moments of silence and pondering over it, Roxy just took the hand that was offered. “Deal.” She didn’t have any other choice but to do that now. “Well then, let’s get the first thing done. The grand lie.” She waited for suggestions, sure that a cop who had experience with those things could come up easier with something believable than she could herself.
